  It is better to tell the rules like vowel plus consonant or something like that. I try to watch and understand the principe of the steps rules, but there is no single rule in any of the letter videos to understand why it is silent or stopped sound for example. It is nothing to say remember in this word you pronounce in that word no, maybe it is right to explain the rule and say why
