That video made my trouble disappear for 10 minutes bro, great stuff. I love my milk jug to.
I use the 40mm f/2.8 on my 5D as well. It's a great combination. It's exactly what my eye sees. I shoot Monochrome jpegs + RAW mostly. I paid $220 for a like-new model. It seems untouched by human hand. I mean $220 !!!!! It takes images a $1,000 Smartphone can only dream of. Why would you not own one?
great video and shots!
Thanks a lot! Appreciate you taking the time to watch!!
Hey Man, I just wanted to leave you a tactical comment because of how nice you put this video together. Crossed fingers for your growth :)
You’re a real one. Thank you!!!
Where did you get that cage brother? 🙈 great vid!
You mean you don’t have a giant cage in your living room?!
This was very enjoyable. Congrats on the badass plaque
Aha thank you! I figured, I had a gold sharpie so, might as well
Congrats dude! You're crushing it!
Happy happy birthday! What a fun project, becauese it's like doing some journaling with light. Loved that slice of life in New York but mostly because you got caught. I'm here for your posts so keep going. Really excited for your projects and I love seeing what you come up with. :)
Great work…B&W portrait is my favourite.
You’re so talented! Happy Birthday baby ☺️
Beautiful work as always Chris, and happy birthday!!
Thank you my man!!
That first photo 🔥
Dude that powwow was so fun. I’m stocked for it this year, it’s coming up! I’m hoping to set up a proper portrait area for everyone to show off their regalia. Would be so rad
In case it helps, the video you made about working on an ipad was really the only one i could find that told the story of trying to use one of these for photo and video work… so it was easily the first hit when i was searching. Months later your “make bad stuff” came across my feed and it was, was INCREDIBLE (but i was like isn’t this the ipad guy). The youtube group im part of talks about how you dont need “bangers only” and id consider make bad stuff a banger. But seeing this one video has me coming back to less more talking head because youv’e shown us the potential you have for making this kind of content, which then helps me enjoy the way you start big conversations. But also, I often dont click on titles that offer big topics because I don’t know who they are on small topics. I hope that maybe shares a little bit of what it’s like for someone enjoying your content. But I’m with you… I want to make content that gets deep and helps to change people’s lives, its just a struggle getting deep ideas into a world that often can only see the shallower parts.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this comment. Thank you for taking the time. Honestly that is really helpful feedback!!
Loving the videos. Thanks so much. And as Gertrude Stein is reputed to have said, "Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping."
I’ve been in commercial photography business for more than 20 years. A lot of things changed since I started. I can say without a doubt, majority of clients today are more focused on cost than actual end product quality. The best thing is to build long term relationships and keep reoccurring revenues coming. Competition in Canada is absolutely nuts and from what I can see, we are in a race to the bottom. Good video…keep them coming!
I’m considering getting a laptop. You were one of the first people I saw using an iPad Pro exclusively, something I’ve been trying to do for video for a couple years. Now I’m back to doing more photography and i had no idea how bad the LR option really was for working thru large catalogs of photos. I shoot Fuji sims and generally don’t do a ton of editing (I’m a SAHM + retired photographer who shoots for church, adoptions, some street photography and masses of photos of our five kids) and i literally have found only ONE program that can see the SSD without needing to upload it w paid cloud storage. I’ve wondering if the MacBook pro air w 16gb will be enough for both photo and video work… 🧐
Ops… i meant the MacBook Air. The 16gb was on sale for $1500 a few weeks ago and that seems like something i can swallow for the upgrade in operating system (i find also i can’t even fill out most paperwork for our kids on an iPad Pro too, so this would be a personal machine too).
I think the 16gb air would be enough!
It was back on sale this morning, so a new machine is headed my way! If you want to document your process of switching back to a regular OS from iPad OS for creative work, I’ll very much be here for it :)
You cant use Evoto, Capture One, and Photomechanic. Im a photographer wnd this doesnt work well.
Corporate sales by day and my hobbies are photography and drones. iPad works great for my day job, but I use a MBP for my hobby stuff.
I think for your use, the iPad should just compliment your laptop not making it your main laptop. You’re doing a lot of intense creative work. It’s better to do on a laptop
Just an amazing camera. Iconic Canon
I needed this video atm......Ive been editing on lumafusion with an old ipad pro (before m1) for everything that i do and i love it!! BUT i am at a point where i cant export anything & support are not helpful at all with lumafusion so i am at this point where i wanna upgrade to a new ipad for these heavy youtube edits but like you said the price is almost as much as the mac pro even tho i hate laptops it may be the time to finally just switch and deal with it.
I would fall into the travel/coffee shop category. I use the Apple Pencil with photo editing and video editing with LumaFusion (amazing editor btw), I have used it for daily vlogs on a week trip and the workflow was a breeze. also, I may be a dad, I DO NOT use an iPad like that 😜
I LOVE this video! It’s like photography therapy and I appreciate you making this👍. Please continue with more
Real life review of the iPad Pro especially that you're not using any other devices for your work. Most of all, it's nice to meet you, Chris!
is this just a vid of you complaining
😅😂
Instant subbed.
Thank you man. I did the exact same thing the first time I saw one of your videos. I even remember which one it was 😅
Honestly, usually I wouldn't care about this topic but I really like your video style and it kept me intrigued! Keep up the great videos :)
Thank you! I really appreciate that! Talking about tech stuff isn’t necessarily my thing either but I try to make it approachable and enjoyable as much as I can 😊
editing a video on an ipad sounds like hell 💀
Actually there's an ipad app for davinci resolve and I'm pretty sure i saw that while he was scrolling between apps
It really isn’t that bad, I did a daily vlog while on a week trip, lumafusion is a great editor, and as much as I hate Adobe right now, Lightroom is really good
As a person who’s been there and done that, you’re correct. It is hell. I prefer editing with keyboard and mouse, not touchscreen.
Does plugging the iPad into an external monitor, and connecting a keyboard and mouse not work? I’ve been considering moving completely off my MacBook and switching over to the new iPad Pro 13 inch
@@victorhe6139 again, your getting into the realm of adding accessories, HOWEVER, if you are using both as your only at home/office and mobile solution you could absolutely do that. Any Bluetooth keyboard and mouse will work just fine
I’m so excited for you! Yay!!! 🎉
Whew! I needed this reminder today. Thank you!
Anything I can do to inspire others like I’ve been inspired!
A fantastic camera with awesome image quality. I actually prefer the colours over the Canon R5, which I also own. I've been shooting with the 5D since 2009, and the IQ (in good light) has never been surpassed, in my opinion.
Great video, genuine advice. Love seeing it
What platform do you use to get your clients their photos?
Depends on the shoot, but either Wetransfer or Pic-Time
I learned everything I know about photography with this camera. My first street photograph, first long exposure photograph, first paid photo shoot. Broke the back screen and treated it like a film camera. It was paired with a Helios 55 f2. Bought another one in 2021 and that was paired with a petzval lens. Now I’m contemplating on whether I should buy a a7s mki or the 5dc. Leaning towards the 5dc but the focus peaking on the a7s is a plus. I highly recommend the 5dc. The shutter is crisp!
I’ll remember you. Keep it up, friend.
Nice beard. G.O.A.T.
Just trying to keep up with your lush Grecian facial hair bro
Thanks a lot for this review!
This video was bizarre but I loved every minute.
Haha thanks man! Creativity is always strongest in the 11th hour
Weird shots! How super cool! and OMG the conspicuous shot! I just died. (I'm 54 but shots like that make me feel like how 14 year olds can't even talk to drive thru window people).
😅😅😅
Nice! One question Was Earl really there lol?
Haha he actually was while I was setting up the shot, but went in by the time I was recording 😅😅
@@Christellezphoto 🤣
Not even going to other apps, trying to edit on IMovie is horrendously frustrating!
I just want to know is the open gate in 422 or 420
@@Christellezphoto wow...i mean there are some people putting out fake information regarding this .... specifically after the release of z6iii
I think I may have been wrong about this. I don’t have the camera with me so I can’t double check. I don’t use open gate a ton so I’m a little murky on the details. It’s for sure 10 bit, but it might be 4:2:0 for the open gate settings.
@@Christellezphoto oooh k .. but i can shoot prores HQ over ssd at full 24fps right, and cropped 1.5x at 60 ft fps ... And 1080 full frame 50fps inbody prores 422 Btw whats sd card do you suggest for it . Ssd i know sandisk is the best one out there.
I use the Samsung SSD because I find the Sandisk ones often disconnect due to the shape of them. As for SD cards, I usually go with the Lexar v60 cards. They are a good price and I’ve had no issues. V90 SD cards are so expensive, it’s frustrating. I haven’t felt limited by buffer speeds for the work I do, but I’m mostly shooting in the C4K or 4K LongGop. As for codecs, you’ve got SO many to choose from… it’s overwhelming haha. I’d like to experiment more with the 1080p and 3.3K footage. I’ll add that to the list!
@@Christellezphoto i know the codecs and its of a bit of confusion too 😂, i am getting all the details because m getting a good offer here in India for s5iix body compared to z6iii ...i don't wana go down with nikon as their z mount don't have good sigma lens
I REALLY like this aspect ratio. Is this 1:85?
This was shot in the C4K so it’s a 1.90:1 ratio. No additional grading, just my standard lut on top of a natural profile all done in camera. Shot with the Lumix S 24mm f/1.8!
No great photographer ever went into photography to make money. It's a part science, part art that one has to struggle to get paid to produce. Professionalism has nothing to do with camera equipment. A professional is one who listens to the client and gives them the results they're looking for. That will NEVER change. And it has nothing to do with age. Some get it at 15, some never get it.
Hahaha 1. Earl. 2. Your tail. 3. Sports 🥰 Really loved this one. You made so many good points. And I think since we are going to die, I’m going to have that Oh Henry in the drawer for breakfast 😌
Very helpful video 🙏🏾
So glad! Thank you for taking the time!
@@Christellezphoto of course!!
