Hello! This channel is an all you need to know database of information pertaining to PVE content on the Elder Scrolls Online. Most of the information seen is console oriented, but it is all still 100% applicable to PC players as well :) For now, the primary focus of this channel will be to provide build guides, trial guides, and role guides all for PVE. ESO has such an incredible community, with so much opportunity for growth. This is something that I am passionate about doing! Anybody can play this game at an advanced level. It just takes the right teacher:)

This nerf is just going to hurt low skill players, just like how nerfing oakensoul has proven to do nothing but hurt the floor of the game, you really notice it in random vet duengon finder
Oakensoul created a permanent floor that many couldn’t climb out of. Velothi was and is the better mythic for curbing the skill between players while also fitting into the meta and casual 4 man play.
This was a well put together vid Pups. Gg dude!
ZoS designing RB Arcanist: 1. copy / paste DK 2. rename Igneous Weapons to Inspired Scholarship 3. rename Seething Fury to Crux 4. rename Whip to Flail, add cleave & snare 5. rename Volatile Armor to Cruxweave Armor, replace the dot with breach, and give it --Seething Fury-- Crux* generation 6. delete Flames of Oblivion and Talons to justify 4th step Hot take, but like why do we even have classes at this point? People just re-create the same build and play the one with the best passives each patch. If they buff scribing, it will push us even further away from class skills. It just seems so unnecessary
@@knowlen attacking Fatecarver is def hurting the classes identity
I was considering this when I saw notes...I just don't have pts so couldnt test myself
I almost completely forgot to try it
@@eigh1puppies very happy someone did. On the initial release of the arcanist, I was kinda disappointed that runeblades were actually a loss of damage using them as a crux generator for fatecarver bc two flails was just easier and saved bar space. And for those that like the arc for aesthetics, this gives a more interactive rotation rather than just yawning through all the beams lol
whats going on with mag arcanist? is it somewhat viable or its way behind the stam arcanist??
Mag arc should be right with Stam arc for the most part
So with tentacular dread doing more damage, what’s the chance a now buffed multi target traveling knife that generates crux ends up being close to meta?
I was thinking about this recently too, could be very interesting
@@eigh1puppies Yeah at the very least physical/bleed damage is a better status effect, you get execute scaling AND some aoe. Slap on the major crit buff so you don't have to double bar camo and I'm intrigued.
So I can run runeblades now…. W!!
Gg Chavo!
I just came back to the game before Gold Road released after being away for 7-8 years. I start Arcanist because it was new, looked fun and was simple and effective. I am seriously dissapointed with them immediately nerfing my 1 leveled, fun class as soon as I got back, makes me reconsider my choice. If Arcanist is nerfed too much it will likely mean me moving on again. I really hope it's balanced and not useless. I don't see them nerfing Nightblades and Sorcs and they are ridiculously strong.
Try not to get too focused on dummy numbers. The sorc for example hits 150k sure, but it’s been the strongest dummy class for a long time and still isn’t used. This nerf is more of a balance than anything. Arc will still be used a ton
I struggle with stam recovery, but have plenty of mag recovery 🥲
you are talking primarely about pve content, i know you are mainly a pve player but the update covers a lot of the pvp content like the infinite archive new sets (the nighblade one is super op and insane if it actually make it into the game) sooo yeah, and no talking about vamp damage reduction changes ? (or maybe i missed it then sorry)
Nah I just don’t PvP enough to feel that I have the authority to discuss the implications of the changes in that realm!
I can't help but feel like so many of the people complaining about such changes as that of the arcanist and just general changes over time are those who always try to 'perform' at the very top or somewhere near and then get salty when things change. We basically have two alternatives: either mix it up over time, or have static classes and abilities that never really change. Does anyone seriously want the latter?
I think it’s the opposite tbh. Much of endgame is bored with the arc like you’re discussing
Curation is the single kind-of Quality of Life change? Really?
A great one imo
Awesome video, thank you for sharing. I see in the comments that you're going to post an update for the sorc, I can't wait! I tried using your discord link in the description, and it doesn't work. Can you send/post a new link please?

Love your guides very helpful just when it comes to power overload what porpouse does it have cuz you only use it on parse right should you swap it off in content (Edit had to delete it because I couldn't see any replies in the comment but the ult overload what should I swap it with)
Power overload is very good in content with line one boss, such as vas hm for example, where you can start the fight just light you would on a dummy. Otherwise, I’d go Dawnbreaker front bar power overload backbar
so let me get this straight arcanist is losing its execute completely? its gonna be the only class in game with no execute?!?
There are a few classes with no execute but yes
Is this rotation still viable right now for this most recent patch?
should be!
@@eigh1puppies thank you.
@eigh1puppies I'm used to the static rotation but I'm still only maxing out at like 63k. I'm wondering if it may be a weaving issue? I'm not using the comet on the opener either and I'm only 500 cp. I'm running nirn, zaan and hundings(in place of s trial set right now). Would orders wrath make a difference if I switch to that?
Hi, I’m new here I’m just a little lost hahaha I looking for a pure damage DPS, for solo PVE and dungeons, so what do you think ? What is the best class for it ? And just curiosity, who has the best survival ? Thanks !
Arcanist checks all the boxes imo. Next patch Arcanist will still be very viable, DK will technically be a bit stronger though I believe
@@eigh1puppies alright, So you advise me to make an arcanist If I looking for a good DPS ?
Yeah its a solid choice!
I find Selene’s to consistently do higher dps than any other monster set on my dummy parses. It’s really cool that Selene’s is still viable after all these years ❤
Or just keep it the same a buff other classes
the quality of this video is insane everything is expained really well thanks !
I don't find dk parsing in Sanity's Edge. The only class which could surpress Arcanist is Templar because it keeps the execute faster for every boss fight. I suggest to have 3 Templars and 3 Arcanists For RG instead of Templars DK enters
Not a bad idea!
If I use the Languid Eye ability on my backbar in ESO, but I have the Deadly Strike set only on my frontbar, do I miss out on the 15% damage bonus from Deadly Strike when I switch to my backbar? And can I still get the bonus by quickly switching back to my frontbar after casting the ability?
Your damage will scale bar to bar, so when you cast languid, it will get deadly's bonus while on your front bar!
Now I need to find a necro healer guide for this update ^^
anyone knows when this update is going public ?
should be a few weeks for pc, 5ish weeks for console!
I was hoping they were going to take the warden completely out of the game and re release it with some usefulness.
Noone except 500 people may be on the planet cares about highest on server DPS somewhere by some class. These are not numbers of real players. These are numbers of parse machines, which are the extreme minority. Again, may be 500 of them on the planet. And usual people will still prefer arcanist because of the ease and forgivingness of the class.
Yeah I mean, I said in the video most classes would still use the Arc. Part of what I seek to do though is keep people informed on the meta
I actually haven’t tried switching gear for trash. I’ve thought about it but groups move so fast Yknow. I stick with Arkanist nirn armor deadly weap jewelry divines khajiit stam and I’m normally between 20-40% of pugs dps with an avg 104k parse. I don’t try too hard lol The Arkanist is a really fun class but way too easy to hit crazy dps. I can’t get anywhere near 100k on any other class but the stam sorc at around 85-90. This update does suck for pvp though because flail is my boy blue. Oh well nothing lasts forever 😢
Dk power ❤
Jesus the amount of toxicity in these comments is insane
Flail is a crux builder, root, debuffer, AND heal with execute scaling. Knew this nerf was coming eventually but didn't realise how soon.
@@benzona802 Not to mention an AoE spammable with 100% cleave efficiency, not alot of other non DoT skills have that
Nerf the arcanist it's to op ,not fair NERF IT NOW
Backs up argument with facts and data instead of "just trust me bro." BASED.
i don't think its fair to say arc was better than anything else before update 42 and its never been the best raw single target dmg its more so the other classes don't bring as much to the group comp to make it worth stacking them
I agree with this statement out of technicality, but in practicality, Arc is mostly better in U42
imo im all for this nerf. too many noobs that can hit insane numbers without having to actually practice and git gud at an actual rotation that requires skill to master... arc is brain dead easy mode.
Having a class that is good and easy to play is important, it just probably shouldn't be meta
my DK always been better , and it 'll be better than ever ...
Arcanist will be meta for everything except score pushing, as it is now, so there is no change that’s going to be happening because of this minor nerf. The survivability is so unmatched compared to other classes, which I believe to be the actual issue with the class. The analysis of rockgrove logs neglects to mention a few important things in my opinion. On Oax, that record had a triple mini skip so obviously arcs couldn’t use their cleave because they are focusing on single target. On any prog group arc will very clearly come out on top and dk could actually be detrimental because of the higher ST focus pushing out more minis. On bahsei, some of the arcs had to kill the meteor (dk can’t do this), so obviously the logs are a bit unbalanced there. As well most of the adds get skipped which further favours the single target. For both of these cases it’s a bit unfair to say that these are aoe fights since in the WR only ST mattered.
Yea, Oax fight with triple mini skip, is very unfair for arcs, there is lot of things going on that interrupts them, so they cannot rly beam that much : 2x chains, 2x meteors, 2x cones etc etc. Especialy with 1 healer, where u rly have to block / dodge some things
You bring up decent points, but the DKs won the ST fights as well so it's a bit irrelevant. I think Arcs will remain for prog groups though, the point of the video was to simply show that the Arc is not the meta damage dealing class that the majority of the community seems to assume it is.
Again, the DK also won the ST fight, the minis are not calculated into ST
Poeple are massively underestimating how much this nerf will hurt arcanist. 50% of the bosses hp your losing 20k + each flail this won’t just nerf arcanist to the lowest single target dps class. This will also put them in 3rd place for aoe. This nerf is farrrr too much.
The execute scaling is being removed. Not a flat damage increase after 50%. So this would in effect be about a 20% nerf to a single ability.
The nerf isn’t that bad, I broke down the math, you should check it out in the analysis part of the video!
Ends up being about 20-30%
People play arcanist because it allows you to focus on trial mechanics instead of tracking dynamic rotation on a DK. But if you like challenges you can do it.
Nah, its 2024, damage is the absolute most worthless stat to worry about in PVE content excluding the something like 36 players in the entire world that care on any level about score pushing. Survivability is the absolute most important stat to chase in PVE content since other than those literal 36 people everyone else is just trying to clear the vet, HM, or trifecta. Therefore the Arcanist is still completely and totally meta, especially considering virtually no players have figured out how to get the most survivability out of arcs, and that is not taking into consideration the fact that arcs require zero skill whatsoever to play to get those clears. In reality, trying to configure a group for maximum damage is completely off meta, and a giant waste of time. Lastly, next patch arcs are getting a survivability buff, which only serves to make them even more egregiously meta.
I kind of disagree, living is important sure, but it's a mostly irrelevant concept if you just learn the mechs. Deaths are a result of not understanding a fight, not a lack of stats
@@eigh1puppies I agree that as player competence increases the need for survivability decreases, however knowing the mechs of a fight and mastering those mechs are very different things. So for the vast majority of players and groups most of which are very new to group content, having a lot more survivability and easier access to damage and cleave is going to get them their clear faster and easier. Will scorepushers only run arcs now? I doubt they will in content with a lot of single target encounters but score push is such an incredibly fringe play style in eso that I dont really think it translates to what is meta.
@@FriedBananas642why should "getting a clear" be the focus of game design. None of the rewards are anything important and btw, damage= survivability. Can't die if things are dead. The whole point of difficult content is to have a goal to work towards. And people would get more hm clears by practicing demanding strats even if they fail, because every rep then contributes to growing your skill. Playing to not lose doesn't tend to lead to success and there's no penalties in ESO for wiping. If the gameplay isn't fun for people they should find another game, because the rewards in game are meaningless, it's all about the optional difficulty to enjoy a challenge.
@@JPHRZ Getting a clear or perfecting mechanics isn't the game design of eso. The game design of eso whether your talking about pve, pvp, open world, housing, etc is to play the inventory system and the crown store which is why those are the two elements of the game players pay money for (I mean lets be honest the hardest content in eso in 2024 is by a very far margin is the scribbling recipes not stacking in my inventory). It's also why they are the only two systems in eso that consistently work well. Additionally, I know the trifecta rewards since sunspire have all landed somewhere between lame and cringe, and generally have a superior option in the crown store, I mean I have them all in my collection to remind me of the time I used to do the pve andy thing. But the conversation we were having has to do with what is best in slot relative to the players chosen aim. My argument is that yes, in the ultra hyper fringe instance of the 36 people who scorepush of the roughly 200,00 active players sure the old school style of a solid offense being their best defense still makes sense because every second they can shave off counts in the pursuit of their aim, howeever, that is only dk's if you are talking about single target fights with very little trash packs, if not arcs are still the best option. But for everyone other than those some 36 people on the planet, there is no need to push their damage from completely ludicrous damage to completely ludicrous damage plus 1 percent, since that plus 1 percent cost them miles of survivability which shaves a huge amount of raid days off their progs. Granted, this is assuming the player is concerned with working toward their aim efficiently, I mean there have been groups that got trifectas with heavy attack builds or back in the day guilds would get trifectas wearing nothing but xynode builds for the memes.
The novelty of Arcanist is wearing down. I have heard from several people that they are getting bored by it and want to go back to other classes, if performance allows it. It would be nice to see more than three classes in those lists, but maybe the copying of world record comps is too strong.
Im ok with it. I got chained to my arc in so many progs. I'll be so happy to break my plar out in hard content again instead of moonlighting with it. On a side note I think they are likely to retain atleast 1 dps spot as sort of a "sweeper" as well as for the passives.
This is way too technical LOL
RIP Nightblades
@@TheEmptyCranium so sad, why they hate the blade, doesn't do single target or AOE effectively :(
Ur stats
Character Sheet isn't very helpful, especially for a pve build, it will change pretty dramatically in content and the most important stats (pen and crit damage) are not accurately reflected
Arc is easy mode simple . 2 100k parses , one plar one arc , the plar is the better player
I'd be careful about making this argument. Sorc for example is the easiest class to hit high damage numbers with rn, since it can max at 150K with a super simple rotation.
@@eigh1puppiespets shouldn't be optional for DPS IMO, less difficulty shouldn't equal higher performance.
@eigh1puppies do you have a video guide for the build? I'm a returning Sorc player and was wondering which way i should go for efficiency+simplicity haha
If thats the dps you get from flail you dos is a fail
Don't quite get this one, getting much more damage from flail means you get way less damage with fatecarver, which means you do less damage overall
Thanks man! This is exactly the information I was looking for.
