I made my first knife 25 years ago. It was ugly but it would cut! I've been working on honing in my skill ever since. I'm going to start making videos of my builds and hopefully can pass on some skills/ tips/ tricks and get someone else to have the love of knifemaking I do! Wow! That's fricken awesome!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you!!
That's sick dad
Thanks!!❤
Dang man. 8" off the tip? Is it typical for copper to blow out welds like that? It's still a super-duper extra fantasmastalogical sword
Thanks! Probably not normal for that but this one got me.
Absolutely stunning!
Thank you!!
Muito linda
Thank you!
That thing is gorgeous 😍 Just beautiful Well done sir 😎
Thank you kindly!
😂😂😂 “wife’s not home” lol 😆
Every married man knows the feeling, lol!
@@tutorknives yes sir!! That’s a fact 😊
can i buy that for my 7 year old granddaughter
I haven't really listed it for sale, but message me on Facebook at TutorKnives if you are really interested.
Nice job.
Thanks!
Really well done, a nice piece of craft. Ok, no materials of viking age but modern ones, but this sword looks really cool Not to forget, your assistant! He did a great job for his age
Thank you!
truly a beautiful piece. sorry for the mishaps, but you did well and overcame them. well done.
Thank you very much!
vraiment cool 👍👍👍
Thanks!
Way to work through all the hardships and not give up!
It was a struggle, no doubt! Thank you!
Beautiful work dude! Way to keep after it!
Thank you!
definetly like to try this only question i have is the fan motor, im going to need it for circulation not sure if that can be wired in with the heats
You could add another circuit off main power and put it on a switch, or use some type of thermal switch if you want it to be automatic.
@@tutorknives I did just watch another video where they did just that put it on a separate switch through main power
Also I don't plan on running as high of temps to temper knives but to dry filament and plastic pellets
So it's not like it would be operating out of its normal range of temps just a better control
Windex can also neutralize the acids
Yes, it's the ammonia in it that does the trick.
Cool kid. I raised 4 sons. I miss the shop time we had. They all have their own children to teach now. I love your sword. Great video! ❤
Thanks! I have 6 boys, he's the youngest. Most of them have been in the shop and made stuff with me. Good times!!
Spending time with the son,awesome!
Yes!!! Best part of the build!
Amazing!!!! Love the pattern man, great job
Thank you very much!
The pattern on that blade looks INCREDIBLE, brother. BADASS. It looks like some kind of python or boa.
Thank you!
Quê lâmina mais linda!
Thank you!
That looks so good. It reminds me of a snake once you got it all glossy to show that acid finish. It's like a sword fit for Reptile from Mortal Kombat. Cool stuff indeed.
Thanks!!! Love Mortal Kombat!
Hey, still got a cool viking wakizashi in the end.
Lol, sounds like a good description. Thanks
Nice adaptations to the issues, well done!
Thanks! Sure did have some issues. 😮💨
Mehr ein Fantasie Vitrinenschwert. Kupfer in einem Schwert? Macht das ganze schwerer und unberechenbar. Hat mit Vikings nicht viel zu tun.
It was intended a a viking sword, turned out more of a Roman short sword after the problems
That looks like a Roman Short sword not a viking sword.
Yeah, didn't quite turn out how I wanted it to.
123 likes dont ruin it!!
Until 1234 :cheers
I know what I must do but I’m not sure I’m strong enough
Doing that by hand is a lot of swinging a hammer, no doubt!
Where are vikings there? Roman gladius, as is...
Plans changed to deal with problems. The plan was very viking but turned out how it turned out I guess.
Bruh if you critique this which isobvously not viking design then make one! Don’t listen to this andy you adapted to the problem and which differs to the plan but still made an awesome pattern
A litle bit short no ? It seems like a roman broadsword
bit short, yes. I cried like a little girl when I had to cut it down from that delamb. :(
That is really beautiful! And I love how you just kept adapting to the issues. Awesome!
Thanks! It sure did fight me. Just have to adapt and move on! :cheers
Nicht Perfekt 😊aber ein Wunderschönes Schwert ❤❤
Thanks
beautiful viking sword and pattern
Thank you!
Very nice damascus pattern and I love your handle work. Thanks for putting out the build video.
Thank you very much!
Just saved the song to my Apple playlist. I saw the long version of this build and you kicked it's ass... even with the problems you ran into.
Thanks!!! I thought the song was quite fitting. Probably what I would want to listen to if I had to fight with a sword! LOL
Видео- как я делал кухонный нож!)
If you mean you made a kitchen knife the same way, then WOW! That would be very cool!!!
Cool.
Thank you!
Awesome.
Thanks!
Delamination, always the biggest problem with pattern forged blades, then made doubley difficult by adding copper into the mix.... but the end result with the contrasting colours of the copper and steel, makes it really worth the work!
Thanks, and I agree!!! I just love the copper lines with layered steel jacket!
Always cool to see, how long have you been working with metals?
Thanks! I've been making knives for about 25 years. I've been making damascus and cu-mai about 3-5 years now. All part time, mostly for fun!
Amazing sword! Amazing attitude! Fantastic work! Thank you very much 🎉🎉🎉
Thank YOU very much!!!
Sweet press!
Thanks! All hand made 😊
That build fought you the whole time. The end result is amazing!
It did! Was definitely a challenge. That's part of how we get to be better makers though! (I hope.... lol) and Thank You!
Kiss blocks for the press will help you keep even thicknesses
Yes, I really should make a set
I'm getting ready to try this again on a handle with a lot of cracks. Last time I tried it I glued one hand to the blade and the other to the bottle and the bottle to my shirt 😂
Lmao!!!!! Good luck!!
Thats a dope looking sword
Thanks!!
Man that turned out great I love it 👍 I like how you ground the handle after glue up. I want to try that but I don't think I can do it and make it turn out that good
Thanks! I've found it much easier to just shape them after they are in place.
Great job man! Love your resilience…you never gave up and produced a fine blade. Good luck to you on the challenge
Thank you very much!
It would have only been a failure if you had given up. Great work and great video.
Thank you!!
