the reflection still kinda blur,if you can do up to 20000 grit sandpaper before polishing, the result will be amazing...😁
Just wow 😳
Thank you for this useful information)
It's super helpful, like you break on stages and write it , thank you)
Zach incredible job I would greatly greatly appreciate if you would show a little bit of how you do a grinding on the chef knives with commons. Please please please
Good stuff! Thanks for sharing.
No problem! 👍
Good tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to show the grind at the different steps.
Yeah, of course! Thanks for watching
Yes there is
Great video
Thanks
You have me very jealous of your skill. I’m giving knifemaking an earnest go. You make some really inspiring content and knives. Always forget to follow on Instagram but I will now
Thanks for watching! Good luck with your knife making
Badasss man keeper going
Thanks
Indeed Good Sir!
You reckon the sandpaper brand matters? What about cubitron? This comment will be edited many times I’m sure.
Do you find there’s diminishing returns with abrasion resistance and mirror finishes? AEB-L is easy to get a mirror finish, and will scratch easily with use. Are there any steels that resist this abrasion with use, or is it not really directly correlated? In my mind lc200n seems like a good mirror steel but would scratch super easy. That got me thinking magnacut might be worth polishing, if the vanadium resists polishing it might resist striation?
All blades scratch with use over time, some finishes are just better at hiding the damage. I typically just use cpm154 so I don’t have a ton of experience with other steels. Abel is good steel and I’ve heard really good things about magnacut I’d like to try some in the future
That looks lethal and fast!
Thank you, it’s surprisingly light
Wow great work Zac,I would suggest a name but uncle donald is unimaginative lol maybe Ari or Sara can suggest great names?
Beautiful work
Thanks
Nice work for sure!
Thank you
Insane man. To know you freehand ground a blade that long is an achievement in itself. 😮Beautiful work!
There was a lot of learning involved and it really tested my patience. Thanks man!
Really enjoyed it. Got a good laugh when the South Park character popped up! 😂
Thanks Dustin! Glad you enjoyed it
I would pay alot of money for that sword
Thanks! I hope someone will
i Would name it " the mirrored edge" or" the mirror of Buchanan"
I like the theme a lot, I’ll probably end up running with something like that. Thanks!
That’s sweet
Thanks
A ,B,C. Accurate brief and clear and you have a permanent record none of oh what’s this that or other calculation thank you its appreciated
Thanks, I really do try to not get off track. I like concise videos
Wow, beautiful work ❤
Thank you very much
I want to start forging some blades soon, nice sword 👍
Thank you

Thank you
Absolutely beautiful work, love to see ur videos pop up
Thanks, I appreciate that
@@ZacBuchananKniveswhy doesn't it have a pommel?
@@ZacBuchananKnivesno pommel and full tang, I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure it's technically a knife and not a sword, still a very nice blade though.
@@Ihate_making_usernames nope, swords can have full tang and doesn’t require a pommel. Thanks
@@ZacBuchananKnives ah okay, I thought the classification was based on the hilt construction, still it must be somewhat point heavy without a pommel. Subscribed btw Edit: not to say there's a problem with it not having a pommel, it doesn't look nearly heavy or long enough for that to be a problem, it's just I really like the balance point to be near the grip. Which I guess it probably is anyway just from the weight of the hilt😅
Nice!!!
Thanks!
Congrats what a piece
Thank you
Oooooo Shiny!
I do like them shiny
What are you doing to them ?? I have never seen your ch before so I’m lost but looks cool. I’m please do tell
I just soldered the guards to the blades. I boil the knives in water with baking soda to neutralize the etching solution that is used in the process.
Want them all😂
Thanks
Sweet mother of Christ, that's one shiny-ass sword.
It’s coming together finally
DwarvenDad needs to see this
Wow--that's a beauty! ❤
Thanks
Looks really good, i just made my first sword a few months ago and it was a fun 8ish hours to sharpen and shine. I perfer a forge polish look so i didn't take it to a mirror like yours but i like that.
They’re fun and not fun at the same time! Lol
Make a karambit
Karambits are really cool, I’ll give it some thought
good information
Thank you
This shows the work habits of a craftsman. Being willing to do what others aren’t separates you from the pack.
Thank you very much
Really enjoyed it. Great way to keep track of everything! Thanks for taking the time to make these videos.
Of course, I’m happy to help!
the best vid on grinding! congrats
Thank you
Amazing finnish and craftsman ship, very good looking design too.
Thank you, this is a loveless design
Heel looks too narrow tbh. Knuckles will be close to the board.
More knife stuff yippee!
"Bob the beastafer?"
B.O.B. “Beast of Burden”
@@ZacBuchananKnives the beastafer sounds Cool though.
Yippee knives!
I have no clue what half of this means but still love it ❤
Haha! Thanks for watching!
What is wrong with it?
The blade was ground too thin and cracked under the stress
@@ZacBuchananKnives oh, my condolences
Yippee sword again ❤
Yippee sword
