  Since it's a singing competition, I'm not sure why Mariah and Nicki are even considered rivals. Nicki isn't really known for her singing voice. Performing, sure...but Idol is a singing competition. Not to mention that Mariah's vocal range (5 octaves) is double that of Nicki's (2 and a half octaves)
