7:43 I am now thinking of the scene where they are discussing how to get the stones from Endgame. In here the obstacle is not any of the characters but the unknown location of the stones,

I enjoyed this movie in the way that: I knew it was utter trash, no matter how low my expectations were, they were not going to be met, and I'd have no interest in ever seeing it again. It was kind of the entertainment equivalent of buying impossibly cheap Chinese tat off Ebay just to see if it's for real, and if so, how they did it. I honestly never felt truly ripped-off doing that.

I hate to say this, but they should have taken a page out of Marvel. After the reveal of Grindelwald in the first one, it should have been a separate movie about Grindelwald. Newt has his own movie where he goes and continues to catch pokemon.

How many planned shared universes have flopped so far? The only that hasnt failed yet was when the formerly talented Kevin Smith did his Clerks shared universe way back when.

I love Snyder's remake of Dawn of the Dead, and I was really hoping this would be a continuation of his vision of that movie. I tried watching this twice and never finished it. This movie is fucking horrible.

I felt a kind of irrational, self entitled, petulance when the movie ended. like "that's it?" I felt like a spoiled little kid who couldn't comprehend that there was no more ice cream left. The fact that Denis has zero interest in doing LotR style extended editions makes the blue balling worse. What Denis does really well is tone. even if you don't fully understand the details you know how you should feel because the cinematography, acting, and sound are so cohesive that the right feeling is conveyed.

I will point out that Universal has been trying to get there "Dark Universe" off the ground for years before the MCU was even a thing but it was the MCU that inspired them to try again for the umpteenth time and failed again. That being said I think that the major problem is that they didn't think about the story of the whole universe. So if Universal wants to use the monsters that they hold the rights to then they could use the idea of the monsters as a sign of a coming darkness where each one is a sign so with the mummy it could be said that it's raising is one of the signs same with the other monsters except for the monster commonly known as "Frankenstein" that one could be a scientist who was trying to invent a super soldier for the military playing up on the book title, "Dr. Frankenstein's Monster" as for Dr. Jekyll and Hyde they could be another scientist who worked with Dr. Frankenstein on the super soldier research and Dr. Jekyll says that they should just inject it into themselves to prove it works introduce them together. With Swampthing I have no idea how to add that to the "Dark Universe" with Dracula that could have been the first film where it's him vs Van Hellsing to which Van Hellsing defeats Dracula who was trying to stop a coming darkness but Van Hellsing doesn't listen and kills Dracula anyways but is bitten and turns into a Dampyr where Van Hellsing becomes immortal and starts doing research about the coming darkness to which he forms the society to stop it and protect the monsters from being killed which would trigger it to happen. Though there would have to be another group whose goal is to stop the monsters because they want to protect people then the "Endgame" movie for the Dark Universe would be the two groups having to join forces to stop the awakened darkness

I was happy I saw it in cinemas. The movie is literally perfect, maybe a bit more explanation on the ninth ray. But still this was before "Jupiter's ascending, new Dune films and new "mad max" I feel like this film was actually overshadowed by Avatar
