Retirement Travelers

Retirement Travelers

We’re John & Bev, and we’re on the adventure of our lives around the world! We’re full-time, active travelers, and our passion is sharing our knowledge about travel and encouraging others to consider a different path on their retirement journey. Overall, we want you to live your best life and enjoy everything the world has to offer.

In 2021, we sold our home and gave away all our stuff. We’ve spent the last four years traveling the world in hopes of reaching 100 countries in early 2024. We traveled to every state in the US and visited all the National Parks in the lower 48 in an Airstream. Our dream is to see as much of the rest of the world as possible during our go-go years of retirement. And, man, are we trying!

We hope you find value in our website www.retirementtravelers.com, where we post travel guides to the places we go. We also have a weekly newsletter there.

See you each week!

Happy Trails,
John & Bev

I think the retirement crisis will get even worse. A lot of people can’t save because of low paying jobs, inflation, and insane rental rates. And now that home ownership is out of reach for middle class Americans, they won’t have a house to retire with either.

Things are a bit strange right now. Inflation is making the dollar weaker for buying things like basic needs, but it's getting stronger against other stuff. So, stuff like stocks, houses and precious metals aren't doing so great because folks are putting their money into banks for safety but I'm worried about my retirement savings losing value fast.

Even if you’re not skilled, it is still possible to hire one. I was a project manager and my personal portfolio of approximately $400k of my retirement pension took a big hit in April due to the crash. I quickly got in touch with a financial-planner that devised a defensive strategy to protect my funds and make profit from my portfolio this red season. I’ve made over $250k since then.

‘’Marisa Michelle Litwinsky” just check her out. It's possible to hire a skilled financial planner especially if you're not one yourself. I hired one after my retirement pension took a hit in April due to the crash.

I appreciate this tip. It was easy to find your coach's webpage by looking up her name online, She seems proficient considering her resume.

Great video! It's so important to consider all the factors when budgeting for travel, especially health care and insurance. Speaking of retirement planning, have you guys heard of My Digital Money? It's a crypto IRA platform that allows you to securely trade cryptocurrency in a tax-advantaged IRA or in cash. Just another way to diversify your portfolio and build real wealth for the future.

I’m so jealous. This has always been my dream but sadly my husband is perfectly happy to sit at home and cut grass.

We have been faithful honest, decent AIRBNB hosts in Vancouver BC Canada until we were shut down by the City last year . Operated a basement suite out of our house. We cared for our guests and took pains to ensure the information we provided was clear, the suite was clean and comfortable , all at a reasonable price. City shut us down because political pressure to crush the short term rental industry due to housing shortage. A shortage not created by us or other ownersbut by stifling strangling government over regulation of home building, permitting and massive permit fees. Not to mention massive immigration allowed by Trudeau . Over a million people last year arrived, without housing stock to accommodate them. We got out of long term rentals because the Province of BC has made renting so biased in favour of tenants that we as potential landlords feel we have few rights anymore. The laws are so skewed and stacked against landlords in BC. Bottom line: we are not AIRBNB hosts anymore and won’t be renting out our basement suite either. We will weather the storm. In a response to this video : Not all hosts are as awful as you make them out to be. We as guests we have had mostly positive experiences. Of course travelers who want to and have the money to stay in 5 star hotels will choose that option.

We didn’t bash hosts. We loved so many of our hosts but their properties and the policies of Airbnb were lacking. John & Bev

I have learned SO MUCH from both of you. It's wonderful your kids have made living quarters for you at their homes. Our mantra is we live our lives in pre- & post-retirement the way we want. We don't care what other ppl think. World travel is an amazing way to experience new places, cultures, see how ppl live in other countries, trying new, delicious food and enjoying it all. Keep up the videos. What you're doing for retirees the world over is NOVEL!! :)

I got a great points deal Chicago to Vienna on LOT via Warsaw but they don’t partner with TSA for precheck and I got stuck in a long security line at ORD. Otherwise, it was good enough.
