    I guess it wasn't just me about the image quality. I love that how it gets rid of my neck and my shoulder pain but using the loupes make my eyes tired really quick and also gives me migraine as well. I am wondering if you are having or have experienced the same initially.

  • @ChrisNelsonDDS

    I’ve found that I’m personally remarkably good at adapting to new things like loupes etc. I don’t get headaches etc. I am happy to trade a reduction in image quality for the improved ergonomic design and posture / neck posture. As I said I don’t think most people would even notice. But I feel it is important to share. Overall I use the ergo loupes (hero and DFV) 98% of my time. Very pleased!

    What are the options or grades of denture? Im not talking about implants as i dont have $52,000, i have $10,000 and dental insurance. I have had some really rotten luck with my teeth. Both of my parents, my sister, and paternal grandparents have beautiful smiles and have never had extractions. Unfortunately i havent been so lucky. Erythromycin put stains on my uppers, that led to dental bonding, veneers crowns and now dentures. Im so nervous that im gluing my crowns in and holding out as long as i can. At 44 and being a woman i almost would rather die as vain as that sounds

    It's very common for people to be mouth breathers caused by deviated septum or nasal polyps. This causes dry mouth when you sleep, which causes bacteria build up, which causes cavities... I'm only 30 and have had half my teeth worked on! It's frustrating that dentist never explained this to me. There are some good videos on here that explain how mouth breathing actually changes the shape of your jaw. Please make sure your kids are breathing through their nose properly. If you brush twice a day for two minutes, like is suggested, you will scrub your enamel right off. Use an ultra soft tooth brush, as there is such a thing as over brushing. Also if you need caffeine, you're better off getting it in supplement form.

    These look like a great set of dentures, but, seriously doubt my insurance would approve or pay for them and I have decent dental insurance. But I'm happy that dentures are still being improved. Are the porcelain teeth stronger than the acrylic? Though they look great it would be even nicer if they are stronger and last longer. Thanks for the update, though I am a few years late but I am on my denture journey now.

    Ceramic dentures that are not removable by a patient (attached to implants with screws) are great, but you have to use floss to clean under them and if food gets stuck it's important to clean it out daily.

    The harder the soap the better. If you can't find hard soap, get a bar and take it out of the packaging for a while to let it dry out maybe for a few days. Some of the more "natural" bars are harder in my experience (than the stuff wrapped in plastic).

    What is the difference in the try in and final impression? I only have had the first impression done then a so called try in where he did absolute nothing. Place wax try in into my mouth. No measuring, not checking for bite. Only looked at upper denture drawing a line so teeth could be repositioned or centered below the nose. Other than that nothing done.

    I recently saw a dentist for full upper/lower dentures. He used large trays for the impressions. Told me that is all he had. Showed me only a few shades of teeth which I told him I did not care for. Told me that was all he had. Day of try in. Placed dentures into my mouth and the plates kept falling out on the top. The bottom moved around also. Felt like they were too big. When I questioned the dentist he became upset. He did not measure nor look into my mouth or check bite on the dentures. The only thing he did was to mark a line on the center of the top denture because the teeth did not match up below the nose on top denture. Is this a proper try in? I felt like I should leave his office never to return. He told me the lab did the bleach version of the shade he had shown to me the one I informed him that I did not like. He said he had given me a choice. I don't feel like it was my choice since I told him I did not like the shade he offered me. Was never shown other shades.

    Hi doc! I am 45 years old and I am missing four teeth in the upper jaw, two on each side, and I am thinking of using a metallic partial prosthesis but I have many doubts and I do not know what to do. Is it true that the retaining hooks damage the healthy parts where they are caught? So you recommend it to me? Do you eat well with it? Is one accustomed to its use? Thank you!

  • @ChrisNelsonDDS
    @ChrisNelsonDDS4 жыл бұрын

    Hey there, thanks for the question. These are questions that are great to ask your dentist. Your dentist should have no problem at all answering these questions. But based on the info you gave me: 1. retaining hooks (we call them "clasps") if designed properly it will not damage the teeth. 2. metal partials are usually good for use while eating - again if designed properly. 3. Most "partial wearers" get so used to their partial that they feel strange when it is out of their mouth.
