My First Fillings!

Way back in 2004 I was thinking about going to dental school and so I attended what is now called Dugoni Discovery Day at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA. I was an aspiring dental student but I wasn't exactly sure yet... until I got to try out being a dentist with the dental "drill" - also known as a dental "handpiece!" Now sixteen years later let's take a look at some of my earliest dental work!

As a predental student, watching these videos makes me excited, nervous, and overall more interested in being a dentist!

Yeah for sure! There is no one more excited about dentistry than a student about to begin dental school! So much to learn. :-)

What do you think of ceramic crowns. For placement on the lower cuspid (canine) tooth in particular. I always had porcelain crowns but I may be getting a ceramic crown and I'm wondering if it's a good idea. Do they get stained from coffee?

M Wall every material has pros and cons. Maybe that would be a good video for the future. If well done, an all ceramic crown is awesome. The outcome depends mostly on the skills of your dentist than the material. As for coffee stains, most ceramics or porcelains do not stain like real teeth but you need to keep them clean. Try UltraBrite toothpaste.

@@ChrisNelsonDDSThank you for responding to my inquiry. I know I have to keep them clean, but I didn't know if they were more prone to staining. You have certainly helped me in my decision. It's the dentist more than the material, lol Have a wonderful weekend. I'll try UltraBrite as well.
