Ah, Britain....how lucky that you have retained a full Brigade of these superb soldiers who have loyally served the British Crown since about 1857....I wish Australia could raise a Brigade and base them in Northern Australia at this particularly difficult time. Thanks to Joanna Lumley these men now receive the same pay and benefits etc as regular British soldiers. Her Dad was a Gurkha officer in WW 2. Les Griffiths

@@FlankerX I always was aware that the Sultan of Brunei maintained a Battalion of Gurkha...but did not know that the superb Singapore Defence Force, elements of whom train with us in Australia, also have the Gurkha. A clever resourceful country Singapore. Les Griffiths

I think it's rather demeaning to the Royal Guards to have the oft scruffy looking Met providing "security" for them. A sharp Royal Military Police Platoon could do a damned sight better.

@@baronedipiemonte3990 Get a grip. The Met are there for mainly good banter crowd control. That said, everyone to a man (lets be pc (woman), is on high alert and that of any person in that procession. My family are Military and Emergency Services.
