I use this channel to publish my amateur electronics repair videos and related content. I am mostly interested in 1965-1990 or so consumer electronics. My focus is on radios along with the occasional boombox or walkman, and calculators from this period.

Interesting. I hoped for an improved SNR. I was thinking of experimenting on this also using my PAR-SWL antenna. It just dropped to a low priority. Lastly, I am glad you did the "audio" test at the end, as the number of stations may not matter unless they were listenable. Nice watch. I like that band. Couldn't quite see the maker.
Amazing the amount of tech crammed on to that board and all for about $10-$15 US retail.
I have the same radio! It’s pretty sensitive
Ilove,my,xhdata,radio,328
THE small sim card you ve got to buy yourself extra... am I wrong ?
I bought a G.E. Super Radio 2, (or was it a Super Radio 3?), probably in the late '90s but have yet to use it. This prompted me to look on eBay and no surprise that they don't bring as much as I had hoped, likely because you can stream almost anything on the Internet now.
I have this type of Walkman, how do I fix it if the volume is increased it makes noise
Kann ich mobil liefern?
Tecsun are widely criticised for subpar synchronous detection performance. Personally I have never felt the need to use it.
I think it would have been even more interesting if you had turned on all radios for a minute or two on some weak medium wave station at the end of your video,
The Super Radios are so easy on the ears, Love my Superradio 1.
I love my Superradio 2. I cant speak to the 909. I've never used one. I'd say the SR2 is close to my Panasonic RF 2200 but doesn't have the selectivity. The audio is nice too. Enjoy your videos, my friend.
I have the same vintage Panasonic that you added your Bluetooth to I just got double cassette
Hello sir if you don't mind I need your help I'm trying to add Bluetooth to my vintage boombox but I would like mine to be exactly like yours where I don't need batteries
The easiest solution is to use rechargeable c batteries and an external charger.
I don't know how to do none of that stuff that's why I asked you how much would you charge me to do mine like your's
Hi friend, great review! I want to buy this module to use with Zero Red like you. In relation to this combination, do you think the sound was good? And what type of pin is for Red? If I'm not going to make this purchase, I'll get the KZ ZS10 pro X + the KZ AZ09 Pro module. Thank you!
The Red is 0.78mm. You can double check this on the specifications page for them. I’ve not tried the KZ’s, but I’d assume they’re probably fine. My guess is that most of these are using the same chipsets, so they will sound very similar and quite good for the money.
Why not replace with flexible rubber antenna
They aren’t really available for FM.
@@sfred So there's no way I can swap a telescopic antenna for a flexible rubber antenna for a.m. world band reception? ?
@@Juno_BeachI’ve never seen one that would work.
Bro, I recived it in Russia at winter XD
Nice 📻👍🙂👍📻
Finally got my 2 squeezebox radios going again. It's kind of a pain to have to keep the pc on all the time, though. But I guess better than having those radios turn into paperweights.
there are better radios out threre that have the 200mm ferrite rod on MW/AM, that can be actually enhanced with the cheapest loop antenna, to a more expensive one(s):GE Superadio I/II/III, Sangean PRD-5,15,17,and HDR-16 are Great DXers if you're not into shortwave or longwave DXi😅😅😅😅ng!
Stay tuned...!
Se existe um modo de concertar um aparelho Sony Walkman da linha WM XF39 então é possível. Eu aprendi muito com esse vídeo e o vídeo permite aproximar a imagem e fica muito melhor observar os detalhes de perto.
Would be interesting to see a comparison of D4W vs your 909x2 on the weak MW signal.
I will compare the two in an upcoming video.
This Sangean is arguably as sensitive on AM as the Crane receivers but for extreme DXing the EP PRO AM fine tuning knob and the external antenna connection puts it a step above everything else. On those wavering, garbled signals in early morning/late evening the fine tuning often eliminates this and stabilizes the audio. For a clearer audio tone when using the Sangean narrow AM filter settings wear quality headphones. The muddy tone is corrected.
Always interesting
No I want to eliminate the telescopic and replace with flexible whip flexible rubber antenna
Can anybody show me how to replace The telescopic antenna with a flexible static antenna
so the ip is 7 letters instead of 12
help! pls
Thanks for this very timely video. I really miss using my 2 UE Smart radios. I tried to download the software on my Windows 10 laptop using the link you provided. However, my security software (McAfee) refuses to let me perform the download. I tried a few times, but keep getting the following message: "Malicious Download Detected Download Cancelled". Does anyone have a suggestion for a work around?
The item is being used with an MLA 30 Plus amplifier // asper the producer's VIDEO notes in text // for an external antenna so the input cable has to Be light weight COAX as as supplied with the active antenna amplifier . There is basically zero technical data on this antenna system which is a Mag loop antenna. Best guess is the output is at 75 Ohm impedance . Therefore the radio has to be put in low Z mode for the Jack point for that antenna system amp to work. The MLA 30 uses 5 V from a USB cable you run to it as a power source . Hence it has a semiconductor amplifier inside it. The Jack point on a DEGEN 1103 is a high impedance point for along wire antenna. Internally these radios can be very different and the user manuals are woeful for understanding what the hell is going on in this respect Some MLA 30 amps infact come with an SMA connector on them proving that coax feed to the radio is being used. How can I get in contact with you?
I have the PL-330. Love it!! Thanks for the vid!!!!
I have two of these radios. One picks up stations, but can lose the signal (or cut out) depending on the volume control. So if it’s playing fine at say mid-volume and I want to turn it up, the station/signal will disappear. What could be the problem there? The other is odd also. If you switch to FM, you get nothing. If you move the FM/AM switch just a bit to the right you can pick up a signal. Most known stations are static though. Any thoughts? Also I have no clue about electronics. I will have to have them repaired. But I’d be nice to have some insight into the problem.
Before sending them for repair, try wiggling the switches and volume control back and forth. Often the problem is dirt and corrosion inside the switches etc. and that can often clear it. The next step is a spray of contact cleaner, but it is impossible to get it into the right spot on these radios without opening them.
Thanks! I’ll give it a try.
Heartfelt Thanks So Much, you got me back up and running again with my Logitech squeezebox radio....back to life ....best Wishes
Cool story bruh.
Excellent catch.
Beautiful radio. Thumbs up 👍🏼
where did you get the nice digital little cap tester board from?
Hey can I use the 0.78 mm trn bt20 pros with my kz edx pro 0.75 mm
I wouldn’t chance it myself.
Keep that instruction manual close by. These things will drive you crazy with too many procedures to get it going. No Thanks.
Magnavox made what i call a Frankenstereo back in 1957, they couldn't call it stereo
Do you know what year the Shure M7D first came out?it was a very good sounding cartridge
The copyright date for the manual is ‘58: pubs.shure.com/view/guide/M7D/en-US.pdf
the EV26 was the first ceramic stereo offering
i would consider getting a Thorens, much nicer styling than the Rek-o kut
Is the connectors for Zero Red the 0.78?
Yes, they are.
buy the latest grace digital ones and you'll be ok!!!
Thx for the video. Webradio list is coming by default please ? I just received my dedicated raspberry pi.
11 months ago you posted a video of you adding Bluetooth to the vintage boombox I have the same exact boombox but mine has 2 cassette how much would you charge me to add Bluetooth to mine?
I'm not really interested in doing that sort of work. I am planning a video looking at bluetooth adapters that do not require you to modify your radio.
I was looking at Panasonic RF-562 apparently it’s the only short wave radio still manufactured by the big electronic companies (Sony, Panasonic in my book). Interesting enough this radio is still analog and it has six short waves squeezed into one. But short wave now days is far from overcrowded which might make it easier to do a quick late night or early morning scan.
The other reason the RF-562 is of interest is that it's one of the few analogue radios still on the market.
Impressive results on AM you got, this radio ranked quite high on Jay Allen mega list. It would be interesting to see a comparison video 909x2 vs this radio on the medium wave.
XHDATA D219 Melhor em AM SW já Retekess V115 Melhor em FM.Tenks From Brazil!
