    The person is telling her "I don't care" instead of talking about their true feelings, and she is telling them that is such an easy lie to keep from dealing with the problem. Many people would rather just say "I don't care" than open up about how they feel and risk being hurt, or looking weak. A lot of the time people who say "I don't care" actually care very much, they just don't want to show it. The Warning's lyrics are often left ambiguous, and that is brilliant songwriting. That scream sounds like someone who is so frustrated with the person saying "I don't care" to the point where all they can do is scream. I've been to that point and I'm sure many others have as well, lol. Keep going with The Warning Reactions and you will discover that every song can have multiple meanings and interpretations, they do that on purpose. Absolute genius.

    The Warning's lyrics are indeed brilliant! I can, and have, spent so much time digging into them. My mental image of this song was a bit different than what you described but I think if we were to look for "canonical" interpretation what you said makes more sense. Although, broadly speaking, it's the same thing, just on a different scale. Seeing different people's interpretations that all make sense even though they are different is one of my favorite things.

    Yeah, I added some text on screen to try and explain what I was trying to say because while editing I realized what I was actually saying didn't make much sense on its own 😄 Basically, the speaker of the song is giving it her all to avoid the "I don't care" reaction and to satisfy other people (or someone specific). Brilliant song, as you said. Keep Me Fed is keeping me fed so far! I'm glad you liked the reaction.

  • @braeden201

    My take on this song is I don’t care is said by the person that the speaker is talking to. The sentence reads Please don’t say it, I don’t care is such an easy lie” Nice reaction, thank you. I didn’t notice the scream until you pointed it out. Dany learned to play with a slide on this song for the solo. Thanks for the review!

  • @bsdsuPASTA
    @bsdsuPASTA6 сағат бұрын

    Yeah, I noticed while editing that the bit where I talked about the "I don't care" line wasn't very clear :( I put some extra text on screen but there's only so much that can do. The way I understand it is that the speaker is trying to avoid the "I don't care" reaction in people (or someone specific, I personally imagine the speaker as a public figure but she doesn't have to be) and like chalk she spends herself to try and satisfy those people (or that person). "Is such an easy lie, is such an easy lie" to me is the speaker repeating to herself that when people say "I don't care" they are lying, and she's repeating it because she wants to believe it. That scream felt more subtle than some of the other screams in TW's songs. For a second I really questioned whether there was a scream or the thunderstorm was making funny noises outside 😄 The slide sounds were the right choice for this song. The whole lyrics + singing voice + overall sonic experience fits so well together in this song ❤ I'm glad you liked the reaction.

    As I read through the comments I see many interpretations. This is a good thing. Art is supposed to stimulate and interpretations aren't forced on the audience when the art is good. The artists (DPA) clearly have something they are expressing, but, honestly, it is secondary to your own interpretation since that will be a reflection of your thoughts; your feelings; your experiences; your values; your dreams... a reflection of _YOU._ It is the artist's role to incite and enable that reflection.

    The "Entity" is a surrogate for the haters and naysayers who told them when they were young that they were wasting their time on a "DREAM" that they could never achieve. When the "Entity" slams the door and locks it, that's exactly what the girls want to happen, so they can bury the entity in the grave under the rug with "Dream" written on it. THEY are not trapped in the room with IT, IT is trapped in the room with THEM! The chains on their instruments are because at the beginning the entity takes their instruments and destroys them, the chains are to keep it from taking them again. The "SHUT UP" carved in the wall and "U CANT" in flames are the people who told them they couldn't do it. Then they exorcised the thoughts of all of the haters and buried them. This whole song is a middle finger to their haters and people who said they were wasting their time by trying to make it as a band. This video is brilliant, The Warning and their team are super creative. This video would have played in the top rotation on MTV back in the day when MTV was actually about music. The Warning is MTV PUSH artist for July. Their live performance of "Automatic Sun" for MTV is amazing, I think it's better than the studio version. They just keep slaying it with every performance.

  • @bsdsuPASTA
    @bsdsuPASTA2 күн бұрын

    That's a beautiful write up, thank you! It really ties together all the bits and bobs shown in the video. Aside from the no-reflections but I already have a nice headcanon for that thanks to other comments - the "Entity" is exorcising itself by playing TW tapes which prove the hate and naysaying wrong, and the actual artists were never there, hence the lack of reflection. This interpretation gives a taste of poetic justice and that's always. Is the MTV Push version of Automatic Sun a live performance? It looks like a music video to me with all the camera angles. Either way, all recognition is good recognition. Hopefully more big things are on the way for The Warning!

    I would caution you to be careful about directly connecting the meaning of the lyrics to the meaning of the video, as they often are not connected. Take for example the Disciple video, the meaning of the song is kind of opposite to what is shown in the video. As per the pre-save page they had with the songs of the new album, Six Feet Deep is a song about dealing with other people's god complexes. I could be wrong, but I think that the Fed in FEI is from the album title Keep Me FED. To me the entity represent the nay-sayers, the critics that told them that girls can't play rock, guitar, bass or drums, and that they should give up. The younger version of themselves are dressed like they were on the Ellen Show in 2015 and the small red bass is the same model that Ale was playing in the early days. You can also see a guitar and drum from the Rock Band video game, which is a call back to their beginnings. The address of the house is 0628, which is the launch date of the album. The current band have their instruments chained to the floor, as to not have it taken or broken again by the entity.

  • @bsdsuPASTA
    @bsdsuPASTA2 күн бұрын

    Ah, I avoided everything related to the unreleased songs like the plague so I won't spoil myself (the Six Feet Deep teaser on Instagram got me good though). That's why I didn't have the context from the pre-save page (I did pre-save though!) That interpretation makes a lot of sense! A few other people have also pointed out and I combed through the lyrics again from a different "vantage point" (so to speak) and, while a few things still make me scratch my head, it makes a lot of sense. I'm still happy that I went off the map in the video, it really shows how far you can go with works of art if you look at them from a different angle. Also thanks for the lore, it seems a lot of thought went into the official video (more than I thought!). I should check the Disciple video again, but I think that one makes sense? The song itself is sang by a disciple (Pau) and the leader of the disciples (Dany), so the video does show what is happening in the lyrics. It's just, the song warns you to avoid something by showing you that thing, rather than straight up saying "yo don't do this". Songs like Disciple make it easier for me to look at other TW songs from an "it's a fictional story about some concept" like I did in the video, rather than see the young warnings and assume it's an artistic representation of something they went through as kids. Although, granted, I am left with the impression that their parents did a fantastic job raising them and when I saw a house with a picture of young DPA I thought it must be a childhood home, so my brain went "must be fictional because the parents did a good job".

  • @oregonlt3

    Fantastic review. One note to maybe make analyzing easier: Their theatrical videos do not always match the lyrics 100% (especially this year). The song is about dealing with someone with a god-complex. It’s basically telling the person “you’re not that good, time to step-off & you’re dead to me”. Now the VIDEO is about exorcising the “demons” that haunted their childhood. Maybe the people who didn’t believe I’ve in them? Maybe critics & commenters who put them down? MAYBE fear & self-doubt? (In the X Anniversary video Dany talks of remembering little Dany being scared). The instruments being chained probably nothing more than a visual reminder of the vortex their music is creating to trap the entity. & the mirror shot is probably just to emphasize the idea that they are conducting this exorcism across time & perhaps dimensions. But those are just my interpretations

    The Young Warning with the clothes they wore during their amazing cover of Ozzy Osborne on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Even as kids they were ‘haunted’ by doubters, critics, and haters. But they survived, persevered, and fought back by rocking harder…..Now grown ups their music is everywhere. One of those ‘critics’ who put them down as kids, now feels ‘stalked’ by them as he looks out the window. He puts a VHS tape of Six Feet Deep in the machine, and without realizing it…he lets The Warning in the house! The song is about him! What he did to them. The Warning now haunts him. The trappings of the childhood they left behind him thrown back at him. The tape of Six Feet Deep the final blow to send him Six Feet Deep. The mirror show The Warning were never there. Just the music which is now heard everywhere. The Warning have buried the fears, doubts and resentments from their childhood and move forward. Nothing paranormal here. Their parents are wonderful and have supported them all the way. The chains are still a mystery. One interpretation I’ve played with is that the chains represent their parents! Who have kept them grounded, calming and restraining them from lashing out, helping them endure and mature. If that is the case, the chains are slack and not pulled taut. Then the parents have done a wonderful job and The Warning have matured right….I would like to think that based on the lyrics that the critic’ have become aware of what they have done and regret and guilt are now the ghosts that haunt them.

    I definitely get the feeling that this is about moving on, leaving the past behind, and also leaving (ignoring?) everyone who wants to hold them back. This operates on multiple levels. As children they chose to be performers and subjected themselves to the scrutiny of living a public life. They had fans, and also critics and detractors. In public every aspect of your life thing gets criticized and judged by people who don't even know you. It adds to the normal stress of growing up, and many child celebrities break under it. Later, when beginning to be successful, there is the weight of expectations. The criticism and scrutiny never stops, but now even your fans are joining in. The band is expected to be just as they were on their last song, last album, last year, and so on. Every attempt at growth and change is met with more criticism and judgement. I think that The Warning may be telling us all to expect more change, that they cannot be who they once were because that would be death. Life brings new experiences, new challenges, and change. EDIT: On closer look, the instruments the adult sisters are playing have chains attached. So do the instruments in the mirror. This fits in if the idea is "do not chain us to our past".

    That's more or less where I was at, except I thought they were telling a story about a general concept rather than communicating personal experiences. Until the last shot where they don't have reflections in the mirror. Why is that in the video? That's what really tripped me up 😄

  • @steveboguslawski114
    @steveboguslawski1142 күн бұрын

    @@bsdsuPASTA Perhaps that means they have already moved on. The reflection is a representation of the past. We have memories of who we think they were (as they do too, from their own perspective), but that is not who they are now. Their younger selves actually lived those experiences, and they have given us a glimpse of some of that, in horror movie form. It isn't necessarily that everything was terrible, but portions of it were horrible to experience as a child. Their own doubts and fears were undoubtedly stoked and amplified by those experiences and had to be overcome. They had their own personal monsters to slay.

    @@steveboguslawski114 oh yes, fame at young age, as good as it may sound, must've been very difficult to go through. There are so many examples of people who have crumbled under that pressure. The Warning seem to have come out on top of those hurdles, at least based on what I've seen in interviews their mindset about everything seems very healthy 🤞 The reflection being a representation of the past is an interesting thought. Then the mirror would show the chained instruments to suggest the chains from the past but no performers, because they have moved on, as your initial comment suggests. There are a few other similar but somewhat different interpretations in other comments and I love that all of them can make sense (including the very very different fictional ones my mind initially conjured).

    Their younger selves overcame the ghost of their haters and critics (NOT the parents) who tried to keep them from becoming the women they are today. They tried to bury them with childhood memories, but those came back. This is a tribute to Stranger Things, Poltergeist, and Nightmare on Elm Street. Groovy Chaos is a company owned by Beto Ramos, Pau’s drum teacher. It also did the Automatic Sun video.

    ⚡ As you get to know The Warning more you discover that they have several styles of rock but they are invariably pure rock!! And I continue to reaffirm my humble but very own opinion that with its structure, its cuts, transitions, rhythm changes, modulations, choruses, pre-choruses, drum attacks, its endings… All of this is masterful. The great beauty of their art is in its simplicity but all of this always seems to be at the right time and in the right way, bordering on perfection and predominating sophistication. There could always be other options, but the ones they chose seem to be the exact ones to create a masterpiece of art. Also impregnating everything with a natural touch of inevitable sensuality that only adds improvement and with the feeling, sensitivity and passion of their blood, race and culture. Each of its pieces can be very different, but always with all the TW flavor. It’s very clear that these sisters have no limits. They have that gift that only belongs to the geniuses that appear among us every certain period of time. This is the youngest veteran band in the rock world. Without forgetting that there are only three of them, yes, but three true geniuses in their field. Melodically they are the best, without a doubt. They are the queens of the hook, the riff, the key changes, the contagious rhythms, the catchy melodies, the sublime voices, the unbeatable harmonies and the ambiguous but deep and powerful messages. And this happens song after song… INCREDIBLE!! The new masters of rock: The warning. For now I'm subscribing to your channel because I hope to see many reactions from you to my favorite band of all time. Thanks and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️ .

    Indeed! I think the way they change things up between songs while still remaining rock at heart is what made me obsessed with The Warning's work. How can I get bored listening to their music if each song feels different? I also appreciate their approach to creating - doing what's right for the art. This should always be the North Star. Sometimes less is more, and sometimes you want more. Either way, they do what's right for the song and sounds great 👌 I'm eagerly anticipating the release of the new album. I'm excited to find out what they've cooked for us this time ❤ Speaking of the new album, if you're looking for more reactions I think I'll be able to help with that :) 🤘😁✌

    This is an outstanding song! No matter how many times I hear it, it never gets old. In that line about karma, I always hear Dany sing "If karma doesn't *hate* you then I will". I think that's more in line with the title and subject matter of the song, rather than "hit" which implies a resort to violence -- which is not what the song is about.

  • @bsdsuPASTA
    @bsdsuPASTA8 күн бұрын

    I agree that physical violence is not in line with the spirit of the song. I view the karma line similarly to how I view the line "A bullet to the head" - as a primal impulse that goes unsatisfied. The karma line depicts anger and hatred so intense they push the speaker of the song to act, but instead, the speaker pushes those emotions down and stokes the fire of their animosity with them. It's the kind of impulse that leads to crimes of passion if acted upon and I personally think, if viewed that way rather than as an intent for actual violence, it enhances the feeling of the song.
