Why would you open on the parts bin stuff? These cars are prettier than a Miura, and both more practical and less likely to catch fire. These are the most undervalued pedigree classics out there. And you can't have mine. 🎉 Oh, and you'd get better performance if you wore a less blingy watch. Add lightness.

Affordability is one thing, that eases with time, but the other problem that only gets worse, is maintenance. This car would be impossible to maintain in the US, and likely veey expensive to insure.

Imo Citroën should have put the initial V8 in it and should have offered an automatic. This V6 could have been used in a top level DS and later CX. Sadly the oil crisis of 1973 spoiler the fun.

Yeah! I also had a Citroën SM as a model, even behind the Iron Curtain! 😃👍 It was not a matchbox-sized car but a bigger one with more details in gold metallic (10 cm or 4" and heavy). I liked this model even before knowing that this car existed in reality. When I was a kid it was just a precious toy. Maybe I will drive it one day? 😉

when we use lees force on brake pedal and get more power while stopping the car,why dont we get same results from engine with less input to engine and more power output from engine.Secondly I suggest a powerful fan 16 inch with a powerful electric motor fixed on top of car ppushing the air backwards which will give atleast 5 % push to moving car.Experiment be done with two cars ruuning for 1 km one without fan on car top and the other having fan on its top.I think the car having electric fan on its top will cover more distance than the other car.But this can be economical on moving on highways.

I drive large commercial trucks for a living (a ‘99 MX-5 for fun!) and the regenerative braking effect of the EV reminds of how the engine brake feels in the truck, which retards combustion within the engine, helping to slow the entire vehicle. This can be used to drive the truck with a certain ebb and flow that you described quite well. Great video.

Cheers! - and thanks for the comment. You can often tell when you are driving behind a well driven truck; the ebb and flow style is both more progressive and safer. Very interesting comment, cheers.

The Citroën SM went to my favorite car ever in just half a year. My dad got me completely into Citroën over the last 2 years. I was already aware of Citroën before because he drives them and had a few Xantias because they were cheap to get. But in 2021 he got a C6, which really started my curiosity in Citroën, first the C6 only though. But last year I got totally sucked into the Citroën addiction and got a super nice Citroën C6 as my first car, which is not only a rarity but supposidly also the last ever C6 build with the 2,2 4 cylinder engine. Now I am waiting to be done with my apprenticeship to earn some Real money so I can get some. More Citroëns with hydropneumatic. First I wanna get something for daily driving, probably a third gen C5. But I also got a CX and BX on my list. I would love to get an SM, but the cost of getting one and the difficult and expensive maintenance makes it unattractive for me to get one of those beauties. But I won't 100% cross that option out. Who knows, maybe I will get the money for one some day.

Lovely. I was 13 yrs old, when I saw the SM at the Los Angeles Auto Expo. I was blown away. I ended up owning one for 15 yrs, as well as a DS Pallas & DS Safari. Part of their failure was the ’73 oil crisis. You can likely add their price and (in the U.S.) poor dealer service support
