Seth My Z axis is cutting deeper than my file indicates?
Great tutorial! Thank you for this!
HI. i have just changed my XPro V5 to the Openbuilds controller and limit switches. I have managed to calibrate my machine (Bulkman 3D Ultimate Bee 1500 x 1000) but I am not able to get the limit switches to work at all. Please could you help me to activate them in the software.
Does the free trail include the foxalien 4040xe
Free 90 day trial is the same as the paid version, so yes, use "grbl" post processor for your foxalien cnc 👍
I would love to see a probe tutorial. I have a simple gemitsu 3040 controller and triquetra 3 axis probe plate
It's a kinda long livestream, but I go over setting up an xyz probe here kzread.infovVe7fRV7b-E?si=waOcdRUKeNJydwEh

I'm using open builds to operate my homemade CNC table with a MKS DCL v2.1 card. Everything is going smoothly so far. My control card has built-in Wi-Fi and I'm wondering if you could tell me how to enable it using open builds control? Thanks.
I'm not seeing the union on esael
You used the exact same search term shown in the video?
Can you please explain that interior perimeter scoring? Would that be right the bit also?
Being a first-timer to hook up a control card and a stepper driver to a home built CNC machine I have to say this video made my day. I plugged in my MKS DLC 32 version 2.1 card after installing the software, hit the jog button and was delighted to see the axis move. I used open builds cam software and was trying to figure out how to install grbl to control my machine. I meant to check out open builds control but totally spaced it out. Super happy I came across this video. So far I like everything about open builds. I've ordered parts from there. They responded to my questions. And their software is great. I look forward to digging into this open builds control software and getting my configurations correct. Thanks again. Subscribed.
i will buy this machine please contact
This guy has a lot of knowledge about these cnc programs, there is no doubt about that, but his videos are very boring, he needs fluids.
Lol, thanks, all engagement is positive engagement 😆😆 I'm thinking about getting back unto making more tutorials, now in a completely different head space than before, hopefully more up-beat and lively... 🤪
Just a word of advice. Maybe you should rehearse your videos first. You are regularly distracted and fumbling around with your tech. It makes it extremely difficult to watch an hour video that for all intents and purposes should be 20 minutes.
You're right, however for a couple months I was doing weekly livestreams... with a live audience and replying to their questions throughout... this video is one of those livestreams, and I'll admit that I'd do a quick run-through of the topic the day before to make sure I got the important things covered during the tutorial part... but you're right that the tech and the live audience is distracting... kinda why I stopped doing it ..
Can this be used on 3018 pro cnc
Yes, works with all grbl controlled cncs
Best to take down a deprecated machine/website link. I'm not sure what happened with FoxA, but sad to see they dropped this. I've already staged up a 1000mmx1000mmx1000mm caged Foam cutter myself and have been very happy with the results.
Im planning on building one around that size. Did you build it from plans?
I spend a million years screwing around with my 60°. I swear I've been using the same bits for 6 years now and it still crushes my souuuuuul! Any tips you have for that?? (The 1108 Amana 60°)
Obviously, pun intended
Thank you. Good stuff.
What about the $132? Default shows 152.4 mine seems to be $132=100.0 What is that one for? and should i change it to the default from inventables?
I believe yours is the same. different from the defaults.
I use the x32 blackbox with interface and it says idle. when i hook to comp usb it says grbl disconnected everything was fine until i connected to the second cnc it has the same set up any ideas ? Thanks
You said a compression bit... specifically which one?
I use spetools bits mostly, because they are the least expensive out there.... (I also get a comission, but I've been using them for a year before they offered me the commission deal, if you can get less expensive elsewhere try those instead check amazon) spetools.com/products/spetool-w02008-spiral-compression-router-bits-1-8-inch-dia-1-8-shank-2-long?ref=SALE
I'm having issues with inconsistent z height. I've been using the x carve for many years, not new to it. It's not the issue your describing because I've already checked that. Work piece is surfaced, brand new surfaced waste board, bit isn't slipping, all the variables have been covered. It only seems to happen on the detail pass with a v bit when there's a lot of required up and down movements of the z axis. sometimes it goes too deep sometimes it goes to shallow, by a significant amount, floating 1/8 above the surface not even touching. I've been going back and forth with support for months. They sent a new Derlin Nut saying there was a faulty one on some of the upgrade kits. Who knows. The tension screw on the bottom of the new derlin nut that came is lose, no lock tight, the nut is free spinning and the hex screw isn't even touching the opposing side, so there's no specific setting to it, it's not serving any purpose right now. Prior to it arriving I was told by support not to adjust that screw that it's preset to a specific tension. But obviously it's not preset to anything which now has me worried this new derlin nut won't solve anything. Any ideas? I purchased the upgrade kit about 9 months ago, never had issues before then over years of use. This issue is definitely tied to something with the new upgraded z kit.
You have a very deep voice, considering what you look like in the thumbnail.
🤣🤣🤣 I may have borrowed a stock image for the thumbnail
That saved me a lot of time thanks!
thanks
OK, yo introducing the 3D builder tool has solved a problem I've had for like 6 months now. Thank you, Seth!
hi, your video turned out great! I’ve had the machine for less than a year and everything was fine, I adjusted the string tension, temperature and speed. all was good. But a couple of days, in places where the string passes simultaneously along the X-axis and the Y-axis, small waves are visible on the cut material due to the fact that the string vibrates. square shapes cut fine. but on rounded forms a problem appears. maybe you can tell me how to fix this?
New to this I’m trying to connect to my arduino the wizard says hold down the mode button and then the reset button where do I find the mode button
Connect 4?
Correct!!!
I'm not sure why Amana didn't include a more positive indexing feature. One of the advantages of inserts is that if they chip or break, they can can be quickly replaced without needing to adjust anything on the machine. This just seems like a lazy design by their engineers. Didn't get me wrong, I love the cut quality I get from mine, but there's no excuse for such a (usually) amazing company to have such a fiddly tool.
Hi, great video dose open build support 4 axis?
Yes, with the grblHAL based Blackbox X32 or similar controller
bla bla bla blaaaaa nuda
what kind of cnc do you have? I'm looking to get one maybe a queen b.... not sure
The one in that clip is the original workbee from early 2020.... purchased before the queen and ultimate bee were developed. If it were to purchase new again today I'd get the ultimate bee.👍
@SethCNC yes, that's the one ci was looking at! thank you!
I just found this video and went and checked my settings and they were wrong. Makes sense why when I would move my z axis up and down it almost had a grinding noise. Once I changed that setting that noise went away and it moves much smoother. Thank you for all of your videos as I am just finding you on youtube. I have some more to watch now.
Hey, can anyone explain why the z zero at 34:36 was set to the top of the spoil board and not the top of the material?
Hypothetically, IF i had measured the material incorrectly or entered the incorrect thickness, Lets say that I measured and entered it as 0.75" when it was actually 0.73" then a portion of my 3d carve would not get carved.... SO when doing the 3d carve I use TOP as my Z zero point. For the CUT out I use the bottom so as to not damage the wasteboard more than necessary. BUT IT you always measure perfectly than using bottom for both would be fine.
Hi Seth can you do a video of setting up open build on the genmitsu 4040 because I Can get ot to connect but Carnt get it to jog the home button don’t light up but I can turn on spindle so could do with some help because I would love to use it
I have the same machine, I don't like candle... I'm thinking about switching to open source, did you get it working properly?
No couldn’t get it to connect need the settings for it
@@johnchambers1686 Sorry to hear that, thanks for the reply
I'm new to this. I did everything and it says 2 to 3 hours for roughing. What do I do to speed it up? thanks
Wont connect to a smoothie
Sorry you should practice your instructions before making the video. It is too hard to follow.
Hi. Where can I purchase a machine like this? Please help me
... What were you carving??
Oversized connect 4 game
@@SethCNC nice one !!
this is not in the 3D carving
It must be done my moving the model for 3d kzread.info/dash/bejne/nZyfuaeYm7S3iLA.htmlsi=2LxOa6aeFdq5LZw_
how is it done in the 3d mode
I actually made a video showing that too. It does take a little math and trickery to get it at the right placement, but at least it's possible... kzread.info/dash/bejne/nZyfuaeYm7S3iLA.htmlsi=2LxOa6aeFdq5LZw_

most wood i use is 1 inch, is there a way to get image quality and make most standard thicknesses less?
Hi, I'm writing from Italy. I have a problem with this type of cnc. I followed your video, step by step but I can't calibrate the Z axis. the cutter cuts into the probe and goes into alarm. I entered the thickness of the probe but nothing. Can you help me?😢
When I try to extrude, my text disappears and I cannot extrude text any longer.
he doesn't know how to teach
Wow, I'm getting dizzy watching you bounce your mouse around! Is that the way your brain works?
Nice set up Seth, it's very quiet.
Hi my dad is the one selling you the honda motorcycle for the cnc machines the reason why he wants them is because he is gonna try to make stuff with it and then sell it and try to make a profit. Im really into pc gaming and building he has a broken pc we think its the gpu i think this will really help me and him get the money to fix it
Also good job with the content its really cool and interesting to me and my dad
Hey, thank you! I actually built my video editing PC out earlier this year with a merc310 (modified radeon 7900xt) because using a laptop even a gaming spec laptop was killing the gpu, and driving my editing time up. so I feel you there on the gpu issue!! The cnc is a learning process, but can definitely be a good side hustle for extra cash. Getting in with business owners with good incomes and willing to spend is a great route to maximize profits with these machines. An example of a $2,000 sign I made last year>> instagram.com/p/CRuvW23jIXw/?igshid=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng== Party event planners are good customers too!! Although they sometimes will nickle and dime, so finding the right ones who value good quality and on time delivery is key in that market...
