What did you mean by saying from 72 to 88 speaking about humidity? And then said 85 is a bit low

  • @cactushatmushrooms3677

The machine that measures humidity. I recommend you set the range between 72 and 88. So it turns on below 72 and off at 88. I think 88 as the high end is good and feel 85 would be too low for the high end.

I've heard similar things but havent noticed anything different about flavor and no complaints. Growers better than I have done it before. I am of the belief the pelleted pine works and possibly not fresh pine. Perhaps the pelletizing process makes it work.

Tried pouring my first plates a few days ago. Poured way too hot. Had tons of condensation and everything is super contaminated. Not sure if its from all the water or something else. Still working in a SAB which sucks. Flow hood build coming up soon. Ordered a temp gun. Stored poured plates in sleeve they came in with end taped back up. Inoculated 4 plates that were stored separately and thy were contaminated as well. Do you think excess condensation alone can cause all the contamination or would you be looking at other factors first? Thanks

Thank you for the honest talk! Liked and subscribed without even checking further the channel. My honeymoon phase is fading out and I start to think about how would my curent and future investments bring something in return. I started one month ago with a lions mane lq syringe. I grew more lq, made some grain spawn, 2 decent petri, attempts of cloning other species, growing molds of course, all good experiences to learn from. I have also spent time watching videos, reading some P. Stamets and doing diy's. The goal for now is to grow for myself and will see if this can be a profitable side thing. Anyway, I'm far of leaving my job over this but mycology is a nice world. I'm sure you will keep the good. Greetings from Romania!

1 person can pull it off if there are no distractions but they would be pushed to the limits. The biggest factor I have found is the systems the farmer has in place. If the systems are good to make the work easy, the job can be easy. Many farmers make it hard on themselves with bad systems and workflow. I've done one Q&A thus far. Probably need to do another soon.

@@MonValleyMushrooms I've never used a PID. Honestly the PID is the way to go, but you dont need it. You just measure the temp of a block and cook them until you hit your benchmark. This means the elements will be running wide open the whole time.
