I am always so happy to find flosstubers who are stitching Dimensions kits, especially the older ones. I have been stitching for decades and for some reason back in the 90s I got it in my head that kits were beneath me and I turned my nose up at them. Then about 5 years ago I did a complete 180 and now I really appreciate and adore them, and I have fallen so hard for Dimensions! So always a treat to find fellow stitchers who like them too. I also live in coastal Georgia, and Atlanta is just, ugh, really gross. I never go there. It's not even the real Georgia. I will drive around it, even if it means an extra 100 miles 😂

Hello, thanks for sharing your goodies and good work this week. Do you edit your videos in IMovie by any chance? if so, there is a very simple way to mirror flip your video so text, etc. is oriented correctly. Let me know if you need that info. Of course there is a way in non Apple land too, but I have no idea what that is LOL. best wishes. xoxo.

Hey Smiley Face! So happy to see your smiling face. Love seeing all your dimensions kits. You’re trying to get me to increase my WIPS by a ton. Every time I see your new start I want to start one. I’m trying hard to resist and stitch on my WIPs that are so close to a finish. Maybe I will cave in soon.

I really enjoy hanging out with you, and watching your stitching adventures. You're so ambitious starting so many this summer! Hope you have a good time with it. P.S. Hydrangeas love acidic soil - sometimes that happens naturally, sometimes you have to add something like Miracid plant food to get a nice blue or purple color. I used to have 4-5 bushes and loved having a rainbow of colors, so I put Miracid on the end ones - they went from white to pink to purple to blue. very cool.

Love that chart. I just started a 5 x 7 dimensions Bayside Cottage on 18 ct. however I always double check the fabric size they give with the kit. Turns out it only allows 1.5” on each side. So I used an 18 ct I had on hand and cut it bigger allowing for 2.5” on each side or if it was a bigger chart I would do 3”. I was a bit disappointed that they do not allow more fabric on the edges I am loving the cross stitching on this design. Quite easy. I am looking forward to your progress

Great video - I love Dimensions kits. I’m currently stitching Aurora (with the Polar Bear) and I’ve completed Dolphin’s Domain, Max the Cat, A Treasured Time and a few smaller ones. I have a few in my stash to start, but not the one that I’d love to stitch and am looking out for - Provence Garden. I don’t kit up at all - I just snip the threads as I need them and go (or pull a thread out from a bundle). I also start in the middle, and I stitch one colour at a time across the whole picture. Looking forward to seeing future videos.

I have a few Dimensions Kits, but they intimidate me!! Hopefully, I will get inspired to give them another try. On another note, Dementia is a horrible disease. My mom passed away 3 months ago after 3 years of hell. Fortunately, I was able to get her into a memory care boarding cottage that was 5 minutes from my house. It was a relief when she finally let go. My dad also has dementia, but not to the extreme that mom had. The stress associated with elder care is not to be taken lightly. I couldn't have gotten through most of this without my husband and friends. Three of my sisters were not there at all. The fourth added to the pain I was going through, so basically I handle all of this on my own. The most important thing, in my opinion, is for you to take care of yourself.

Hello, new sub here! I've spent the last six months getting back into needlework of every kind, including Dimensions kits! Mine, however happen to be needlepoint pillows. I've finished one and am about .001 % on the other. I've also finished one 90's Bucilla needlepoint pillow and am 50% on another. Bucilla needlepoint charts are hugely better than Dimensions, but I love dimensions designs. Wondering if the cross stitch kits are similar? As to cross stitch, I"m mostly working on patterns adapated from needlepoint books, and several free charts from DMC. Hope to make some videos soon - I sure enjoyed yours! Thank you.

Hi Angela, I am so glad I found your channel! I love Dimensions kits and have some. I didn't know about getting the pdf.! Can you share the email address for Simplicity to get a pdf? I do understand about caring for parents and dementia. I had a long stretch of caring for my Mom with Alzheimers. All we can do is be guided by our love for them and see that they are cared for. I am glad they are in good places. I know how hard it can be. I like your tip about starting in the middle! and how you kit up the strands with a tag!

I found it on Etsy. I’m also working on a stocking from Dimensions and its mostly full coverage except for some of the background.

Hi. I just found you and watched your dimensions start in summer 2024. I was at StitchCon for the first time that year. I was at Weekend B. ( I got COVID lol). I too walked in alone and found lovely table mates. I’m so glad you did it and isn’t it amazing the messages we get to prompt us to step out of our comfort zones. Take care. Kate. Ps. I have the same Grogu needleminder !!!

Always a pleasure to see you. You can just do your best for your parents and don't second guess yourself. As noted in another comment, remember to take care of you. Have your ever tried diamond painting or stamped cross stitch? I find it a good stress reliever.

Angela, I am definitely praying for you and sending you best wishes and encouragement. Many of us have indeed been where you are right now with your parents. Hang in there. Believe it or not, you will come out okay. I don't recall if you said your husband was self-employed or if he worked for a large organization. If the latter, please explore if they have family support services with a vendor - many companies do so these days. Take advantage of these services so you do not feel alone in this journey. Good luck with the Chatelaine mandala. I bought "Serengeti Mandala" two years ago, and terrified to put the first stitch on fabric. Saving it for next year. Take care.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I took care of my mother and my husband at the same time. Both are gone now but I am so thankful that I was able to care for them. My best advice would be to cherish those times but also remember to take care of yourself.

I'm glad you've been able to work through it, one day at a time, and that you have found a craft that has kept you going. I do find in times of stress, I just can't bring myself to stitch, so I might look into the looms, they look great! Do take care - thinking of you, Jo xx
