    Thanks for your comment..I feel your pain. I hope you can take your PTO. You deserve it! Maybe take it during your slowest time of month so you aren't as stressed thinking about getting backed up.😊

    Omg this is perfect timing for me! I'm also struggling with burnout. I want to take PTO but every time I think about it or do, I know I will return to a ton of work. It's not like I'm a waiter where someone can easily cover for me. I know the work will always be there for me, but I like being on top of things rather than stuff piling up. I like your tip about taking pictures. I've never really taken pictures but I think scrolling through a gallery of things I care about outside of work, will calm me down. Also, Ted Lasso was an amazing show!

    Hi and thank you. You should definitely learn the basics i.e. formulas for basic adding of cells and averages. Also how to make the spreadsheet look presentable i.e. adjusting the column sizes and spacing. Then go into intermediate items like using data from rows and columns to create a pivot table and charts. Once you master that, practice harder formulas like VLookUP and SumIF. Knowing these elements will put you ahead of many others.

    Hi Angie, why do you like Becker prep course? Have you chosen it because it was offered by your employer? Does Becker has advantage compared to other prep courses?

  • @accountableliving
    @accountableliving29 күн бұрын

    Hi. I asked other CPAs which review course they used…. most all said Becker so I knew it had to be decent. Also, they are very comprehensive and offer sooooo many different things- i.e. lectures, practice tests, help videos, email help, the App to get flashcards and to download lectures. Also a final review booklet to correspond with each big book…. It is somewhat overwhelming, but you get a lot for the hefty price tag.

  • @LuxxomannLU
    @LuxxomannLU29 күн бұрын

    @@accountablelivingI like Darius too. My tax professor recommended I-75. I also like Farhat. But I get sense about Becker that their lectures are just reading from the chapter. This is not what u am looking for. I need highly interesting and catchy explanations. I saw some stuff from UWorld, Roger is charming, Peter Olinto is funny and I like his explanation. I found a CPA group on Reddit, they say that the books by UW are more comprehensive and bigger, lectures are longer and more tedious. They also have bells and whistles. UW is a merger of Roger, Wiley and Peter from the others prep course. I speak to a college fellow, she hates Becker….

    thank you for this video! I am understanding a lot more about accounting! do you have to like math in order to do the work of an accountant? I don't like math and I am not good at it! my highest score in a math class for college was statistic, and I got a c! so if I am not good at math, will I ever be good at doing the work of an accountant? how will a person be able to do the work of an accountant if they are not good at doing well in math classes in high school and in college

  • @accountableliving
    @accountablelivingАй бұрын

    Hi. You don't have to like math. Your software and calculator will give you all the answers. You mainly do adding, subtracting, multiplying and division. Division comes in a lot with Ratios and KPIs. You will need to be able to "see" if the numbers look wrong or aren't adding up. These will be red flags that something was entered wrong or the item given had bad numbers. In higher positions, you will need to interpret the numbers and help others to understand them.

    Hey Angie! Thanks for sharing all this useful info and your experience. Really commend your guts and sincerity! I'm trying to figure out exam planning with the 2024 CPA evolution. As you know, there are specific testing windows and longer wait times for results (2-3 months) now. NTS validity is crucial, and planning for potential retakes is key. Any advice on how to approach this? (As an example) If one was to aim for the January 2025 window- with FAR exam (being the first)? *Also, the 30-month window rule does not apply here; it's back to 18 months. If this is good for a video, great! If not, a quick example would be super helpful when time permits you. Thanks in accrual😅 Cheers!

  • @accountableliving

    Hi!! Thanks for watching. You can be an accountant without passing the cpa exam. You can’t be “labeled “ a Certified Public Accountant unless passing and working under a CPA for at least a year. In order to sit for the exams, you have to have 150 semester hours (Bachelors degree plus Another year in most states). It is a lot. Makes sense to get a Masters Degree. I have a MBA. All of it is very expensive. Takes dedication and time but it pays off. Good luck in Nursing and thank you!!!
