Thanks for your comment..I feel your pain. I hope you can take your PTO. You deserve it! Maybe take it during your slowest time of month so you aren't as stressed thinking about getting backed up.😊
Omg this is perfect timing for me! I'm also struggling with burnout. I want to take PTO but every time I think about it or do, I know I will return to a ton of work. It's not like I'm a waiter where someone can easily cover for me. I know the work will always be there for me, but I like being on top of things rather than stuff piling up. I like your tip about taking pictures. I've never really taken pictures but I think scrolling through a gallery of things I care about outside of work, will calm me down. Also, Ted Lasso was an amazing show!
Hello… i need to contact you … please tell me a way for the same
Thank you so much, this will help me a lot best wishes to you and your familyyy😊❤🎉
Which book did you use?
@@abdirizaq6408 Hi, I used the Becker CPA Exam study books.
Wait, people use calculator in their computers. Excel is my everything.
I like your videos. Do you have any tips for Excel? There's so much to it and it's difficult not knowing exactly how adept you have to be for employers. They seem to expect you to know everything.
Hi and thank you. You should definitely learn the basics i.e. formulas for basic adding of cells and averages. Also how to make the spreadsheet look presentable i.e. adjusting the column sizes and spacing. Then go into intermediate items like using data from rows and columns to create a pivot table and charts. Once you master that, practice harder formulas like VLookUP and SumIF. Knowing these elements will put you ahead of many others.
Hats off to u. , same position I am also starting CPA now I also have a kid
I am very happy for you, thanks for your video
My friend, can you please tell me which calculator to buy at amazon that is similar to the one they provide on exam day. Thankmyou.
Practice with a mini hand held. Each prometric center is different but it will be mini or pocket size. Thanks.
Hi Angie, why do you like Becker prep course? Have you chosen it because it was offered by your employer? Does Becker has advantage compared to other prep courses?
Hi. I asked other CPAs which review course they used…. most all said Becker so I knew it had to be decent. Also, they are very comprehensive and offer sooooo many different things- i.e. lectures, practice tests, help videos, email help, the App to get flashcards and to download lectures. Also a final review booklet to correspond with each big book…. It is somewhat overwhelming, but you get a lot for the hefty price tag.
I also like I-75 Darius for extra help on understanding harder subjects …He is affordable.
@@accountablelivingI like Darius too. My tax professor recommended I-75. I also like Farhat. But I get sense about Becker that their lectures are just reading from the chapter. This is not what u am looking for. I need highly interesting and catchy explanations. I saw some stuff from UWorld, Roger is charming, Peter Olinto is funny and I like his explanation. I found a CPA group on Reddit, they say that the books by UW are more comprehensive and bigger, lectures are longer and more tedious. They also have bells and whistles. UW is a merger of Roger, Wiley and Peter from the others prep course. I speak to a college fellow, she hates Becker….
thank you for this video! I am understanding a lot more about accounting! do you have to like math in order to do the work of an accountant? I don't like math and I am not good at it! my highest score in a math class for college was statistic, and I got a c! so if I am not good at math, will I ever be good at doing the work of an accountant? how will a person be able to do the work of an accountant if they are not good at doing well in math classes in high school and in college
Hi. You don't have to like math. Your software and calculator will give you all the answers. You mainly do adding, subtracting, multiplying and division. Division comes in a lot with Ratios and KPIs. You will need to be able to "see" if the numbers look wrong or aren't adding up. These will be red flags that something was entered wrong or the item given had bad numbers. In higher positions, you will need to interpret the numbers and help others to understand them.
@@accountableliving thank you!!! how many hours do accountants usually work? what are the hours like for full time and or part time? you said the work of an accountant is usually on a computer, right? what is the type of work usually being done on a computer like
Have any of you changed careers? Also, did you love your first accounting course? 😊. Love you all.
I’m a second degree/career change person. My first bachelor’s was in opera performance but I preferred the stability that came with accounting. I still love music but we all need money to live :)
Hey friends, in part 1 I left out 4 questions. I hope these help.
Hey! We sent you an email about a paid partnership. Did you get a chance to read it yet?
Great vid as always. You should look into getting blue light filters on your prescription glasses. That is definitely a thing b/c I have it! Also, consider an ergonomic mouse for your wrists. Lastly, xlookup is a better version of vlookup! Those are some quality-of-life tips I have for you.
Thanks so much. I have the vertical mouse and it helps a lot. My eyes are so sensitive and sometimes the chemicals they put on the lenses will irritate my eyes. I will ask the doc what exactly they use for blue light. Have a great weekend.
Great advices!
Thank you Angie
You are so welcome!! 😊
Thank you
Thank you very much
Thank you!
Thank you very much. You're great. I have a question about the materials/books. How can I contact you?
Thank you. I bought the Becker Review course and they mailed the books once I requested them. You do not get them all at once. After you pass one exam, you order your next book, as they get updated frequently.
@@accountableliving I was thinking of purchasing the Becker Review course, but we know the cost. I am still thinking of it.
Thank you. If I cannot pass the first test at my 1st time, How long can I take the test again in the gap between?
@@WeeRuechai After you receive your score- if you didn’t pass- you have to pay and request a re-take with your state office. They will send you a NTS- notice to seat. Then go onto Prometric and see what is available and pick your day. Don’t wait to long… I found the sooner the better so you don’t forget the material.
you are great lady .You are most genius, intelligent and hardworking lady. Love you so much
Thank you so much 😀
Hi Angie, I have books from my recent college classes on all subjects, but I did not learn NFP accounting and Gov acct. will it be helpful or I should definitely buy a review course?
Hi 👋 If you don’t want to buy the full review course, you can probably buy just a Financial/FAR USED book somewhere. You will need to learn NFP and Gov Acctg main aspects. The accounts used for sure and JEs. Thanks for watching!!
Totally right. In my opinion the best option is CPA, public, then private.
Thanks for watching 😘
Thanks for another banger vid! I got a video idea suggestion! Now that youre a head honcho VP, maybe you could make a video on what you look for as a hiring manager when hiring a senior accountant and accounting manager.
OMG great idea. Thanks again for watching my friend. I love hiring and interviews and I have A LOT to say about it.🥸😻
Prefer lifestyle of private but money of public. Considering going public but I have a child and no babysitter so idk if it’s worth the grind.
Hi Friends - thanks for watching. Leave your experience below, please. 😊
I had to like the video on the onset just for the fact you said you’re in your 40s. I think I’m going to get back on the horse. Congratulations!🎉
Lol yes!! Do it. If you are watching these that means a spark inside of you is lit and you must not ignore it my friend!! 🔥
I think I’m in love!!!! 😍
Thank you
You're welcome ☺️
Friends-keep up the good work!!!😊 You can do it!!
Hey Angie! Thanks for sharing all this useful info and your experience. Really commend your guts and sincerity! I'm trying to figure out exam planning with the 2024 CPA evolution. As you know, there are specific testing windows and longer wait times for results (2-3 months) now. NTS validity is crucial, and planning for potential retakes is key. Any advice on how to approach this? (As an example) If one was to aim for the January 2025 window- with FAR exam (being the first)? *Also, the 30-month window rule does not apply here; it's back to 18 months. If this is good for a video, great! If not, a quick example would be super helpful when time permits you. Thanks in accrual😅 Cheers!
@@vishalkurien1982 thanks so much!!!
I can't sit for the exam until next year but this video is def still gonna help me! TY!
Good vibes to you!! Stay positive and your hard work will pay off!😊
Most gorgeous CPA ive ever seen tbh. 🤩 yes. Smartness is hot.
How much practice you did for mcq and sims?
hi. At first, I did way too much. It takes way too much time to do all the questions and sims and practice tests on the Becker Review. Do enough to feel comfortable with the question styles and any areas you need extra practice on. I will have a video up this week to explain more of what I did. Thanks and you can do it. 😁
hi! thank you for the tips!! I feel like both nursing schools (NCLEX ) and ACCOUNTING schools (CPA) are both costly! I feel both exams should be less intense! but good thing I was watching all nursing related videos and accounting related videos! these both videos helped me! THANK YOU ALL also you said is it mandatory to take the CPA for becoming an Accountant? can you still work with or without the exam? do you need to do masters in order to take the CPA exam or is the CPA exam completely different
Hi!! Thanks for watching. You can be an accountant without passing the cpa exam. You can’t be “labeled “ a Certified Public Accountant unless passing and working under a CPA for at least a year. In order to sit for the exams, you have to have 150 semester hours (Bachelors degree plus Another year in most states). It is a lot. Makes sense to get a Masters Degree. I have a MBA. All of it is very expensive. Takes dedication and time but it pays off. Good luck in Nursing and thank you!!!
Thank you
You're welcome ☺️
Very good video, really like the tips
Glad you enjoyed! 🥰
Amazing tips thank you so much
You're so welcome! 😁
I love how you enjoy teaching and want to teach! You sound awesome to work for/under/with. Thanks for another great video!
You just made my day. xoxoxo
Inspiring, thanks for the tips!
Hi do you mind making a video of how to apply for the CPA exam (application on nasba website, sending in transcripts, paying for the application and fees, NTS, prometric testing sites) as well as the overall timeline of when your application gets approved? I'm currently in the process of figuring all this out and would like to schedule things accordingly. Thanks!
Your first tip is great!
Glad it was helpful!
Still working on my bachelor's degree. 🎉
amazing
Awsome, this motivated me
You can do it!
Thank you 🙏 very good tips. I would love to ask a couple questions related to the exams :)
Magie. please try. to raise your voice volume 😃
Thank you Engie
OH MY GOD , YOU ARE LIKE TAKING ABOUT ME :) , WE HAVE SAME AGE, SAME EXPERIENCE , EVEN SAME FEELING ABOUT FAILING WITH 74 :) ,, IT IS REALLY SO HARD AND PAINFUL , AND I FINALLY DECIDED TO LET IT GO AND STOP THE PAIN OF LOSING MONEY , LOSING SOCIAL LIFE AND EVEN LOSING SELF CONFIDENCE .
i failed 8 times in 10 years :) ,, i used Becker ,, i am thinking to start studying CPA again .but i am thinking to change the review material and use surgent CPA ,, what do you think ?
Hi. I have never used them. If you already bought Becker, I would supplement with free resources like you tube.. i75 has great free videos.
dont give up. Keep going.
