Maybe you could add a mechanic where parts of the blades can go through enemies without killing them? Make heavy & complete slashes feel so much more full, slicing through an enemy and embracing the fantasy feel!

@@StewieDoesntExist Yeah I don't want to spoil or reveal too much right now as Development is an ever changing thing, no matter what game you're making. But when I can show more of the art and the updated gameplay loop for the game, I think people will start to 'get it' a little more.

Weapons with different attacks. Like a dagger would deal more damage when stabbing rather than slicing, or quick slots for healing items/throwables.

I am really excited to see more weapons as the game progresses! Another thing, imagine if after a certain time of spiders hatching, they crawl onto the ceiling and jump down when a player approaches them, meaning players have to stay alert

Another team at Alta is still working on A Township Tale, this is being made by another team at Alta with some of the same devs but not all, a lot of the team working on P2 are new specifically for this game while others are still working on ATT.

There is parrying, you can parry an enemies attack and they'll recoil and you'll have a window to attack before they slash at you again.

We have abilities like igniting your sword on fire and going invisible. But we are still in early development so things like spells and classes are being discussed so stay tuned as the game develops for more on those.

These shrines remind me of Diablo II shrines, except the shrines in that game come in many different shapes. Another idea is that you could have different ominous figures on each of the shrines. And the chosen figure doesn't have to correlate with the bonus that it'll give. The shrine in the video gives off a spooky vibe, the fact that it has a demonic looking statue on it. It sorta feels like the player is accepting assistance from / making a deal with some demonic entity (the one depicted on the statue). The thing is tho, how can you always trust that the demonic entity is always on your side, and isn't going to try to trick you? ↓ There are a few ideas I came up with ↓ • Maybe the statue demands something from the player in return. ╠ • A mission with consequences to not completing it. ║ ╚═ "Defeat this many monsters or else." ╚ • An item of sacrifice. • Maybe the statue trolls the player in some minuscule way. ╠ • The statue could play some simple scare prank on the player. ╠ • The statue could spawn in some monster for you to attack ║ ╚═ while you're charging up the shrine (like in the video). ╚ • Similar to an mischievous genie granting a wish with unintended ╠═ outcomes, the statue could grant some effect but it isn't what ╚═ the player exactly wanted. Maybe each figure has a different set of behaviors that the player gets to memorize. This gives the player the ability to pick and choose what shenanigans they're prepared to deal with. For example, maybe the player has plenty of gold to spare, so maybe they specifically look for the figure that is known to demand lots of gold. Or maybe the player isn't bothered by jump scares, so they'll go looking for shrines with statues that are likely to try to scare the player. Not all of the figures need to be evil, or mischievous. Just some of them to spice it up a little.

I think it'd be cool if I could raid a dungeon, collecting treasures. Extract from the dungeon with the loot I've acquired, and maybe I could sell the items I don't want to keep. For the rest of the items that I did keep, I think it'd be epic if I could have my very own treasure room, where I can see all the mountains of treasure I've looted and kept. ↑ This alone would be amazing ↑ ↓ This is just my imagination stretching the idea a little further ↓ It'd be cool if around the hoards of treasure, I could build my own dungeon to keep other people from trying to take from my stash. Meaning that other people/monsters could perhaps try to take on my dungeon.

Right now you can actually steal other players weapons right off their hips - we're not sure if this feature will continue or if it will change but it is fun to steal someone's weapon from them and see the confusion in their reactions in VR.

You could probably sell a packaged version of the Spline Generation Tool on the asset store and make a decent bit of cash. A lot of non coding devs are looking for easy to understand generarion tools.

Traveling down 150+ levels in ATT and coming back with tons of mythril, back when gasher measured his in game time in mere hundreds of hours, will always be a highlight of my VR adventures. Looking forward to the next game!

i like the idea of having to defend the shrine while charging it up, like at 5:40 where your trying to defend yourself from a skeleton while charging to up. or maybe having some sort of "shrine ghouls" interfering with the process of charging up a shrine. besides my ideas i love the shrines so far, excellent work 👍

Great ideas, I think it feels great to have to try to defend yourself using only one hand while you have to use the shrine too - it adds a layer of tension. While the Shrines you see in this Devlog and the way they function is just their first/prototype implementation - I'm excited to showcase how they evolve and the new buffs they'll give later in Development too.

Why not making a shrine entirely grey when it can't be interacted with anymore. Like if the magic that was making it glow somehow vanished

Very good idea, what we're showing in this Devlog is just the early initial implementation/prototype of Shrines so they're going to change a lot over the course of development but making it so it is clear to the player that a shrine can be activated or has already been activated is an important point to communicate to the player!

I'd love to see something added that fully prevents sword wiggle, and a way to reward a player for skilled sword play. Please DO NOT become "just another one of those wiggle sword" games!

As a fan of Ancient Dungeon and Dungeons of Eternity, I am very excited for your game! I would like to see smaller craniums for the player characters. I would also like to see some kind of climbing gameplay. Whether it be like Breathe of the Wild or Blade & Sorcery.

Thanks! Phase 2 of the base player character is in development right now and is looking fantastic - I'll showcase it in a Devlog soon. Also, climbing/mantling of some kind has been discussed but isn't currently being worked on - yet!

I was also thinking of A Township Tale when you mentioned climbing. I feel like what would contrast climbing, maybe a swimming mechanic? Both would have elements that would mirror elements from the other. The stamina bar for climbing could be mirrored across for an oxygen meter for swimming. (This very very much depends if there will be water filled dungeons in the game)

Is stealth going to just be "use the invisible skill" or will there be more to it? This is probably just me but I'd be willing to give up the invisibility skill entirely if it could be even just line-of-sight detection, actual sneaking y'know? I'm not sure how to put it exactly but this just doesn't feel like Stealth, it just looks like normal melee but the enemies stop attacking for a little bit sometimes

Yeah with skills and progression you'll be able to play how you want, being invisible will just be one of the roguish abilities you'll be able to select.
