  Kibble is the worse crap you can feed your cat for a multitude of reasons but too many vets make $$ off the billion dollar pet food industry. Read up on what exactly is in all these kibble foods and too many canned commerical foods . You will be amazed at the # of recalls that have occured over the years. But hey, disease and premature death keeps the vets in business for sure. Learn about raw feeding and why it is superior to the multi billion $$ commerical pet food industry's products.

  If there's no reason behind it why do so many people say adding a nutritional supplement made the behavior stop? My wife is a vet and says its just a behavior that started and now we have to correct. Other sources non vet say it's nutritional and correcting it works and has worked for many people. Why?

  I had my cat on a gravity feeder and after 6 years my vet finally said she could probably use a diet. I asked him how. He said fill a bowl in the morning with Iams kibble. When she quits eating, remove the bowl. Repeat for dinner. Then that is the amount to feed her everyday. Nice simple plan if you need to put your cat on a diet.

  This doctor is just telling his opinion. There could be a lot of reasons why dogs eat grass and soil that most vets doesn't know. In my honest opinion, it's in their own instinct why they do that.

  Huge omission, your cat may be overweight because they are eating a diet based exclusively on dry food. Another thing needing mention, this can kill males due to lack of necessary water in their diets and urinary blockage. The water deficiency is a problem with females as well. Cats eating dry food diets become fat because the cats must overconsume to get the daily nutrients they require. In addition, cats get a large percentage of their needed daily water intake from the foods they eat when fed properly. Dry food does not provide this and actually increases the water intake need of the cat as it is essential in the digestion processes. You will find varying opinions on this matter but personally I have seen two male cats who died prematurely because the owner was not aware of what constitutes a proper diet. Granted it would not hurt to discuss this with your vet as it may have additional needs.

  FYI dirt is probably more often than not the cause. Your dog reg eats grass maybe shortly after there meal regularly? Upset stomach? G I wonder what’s upsetting there stomach regularly? 3 or my dogs were eating dog religiously any and every time they got the chance. Always from the same couple of spots. And I mean eating it mouthfuls not playing in it like this non caring vet or maybe just ignorant idk. They way mine were going they were headed to impacted/stopped up intestines. The diet wasn’t it but I did. Change there food and they stopped eating dirt. They all the sudden didn’t wanna “play” with it anymore. (Sarcasm).

  I have a VERY picky cat. Other than dry food he barely shows attention to wet food. Recently he has come to "accept" wet food but I can tell it is not what he really enjoys. It is like a half step up from his dry food. He loves these lickable treats I have found but they are from half way across the world and cost 1$+ each for just two tablespoons so I would like to make my own for him, plus the packages plainly say they are not nutritionally complete, unlike all the other treats I give him which while may be high calorie, atleast are complete protein sources.

  it's useful info . ... 260 cal a day for a 10lb cat! Now if you could advise on how to feed a 13 lb cat to lose 1 lb ... That would be even more helpful! Thanks in advance!

  I have a 1 year old 10lb cat who I feed 1/4 cup in the morning and at night (with some snackies in between) he seems to be happy with that !

  i give my kitten grain free meow mix and fancy feast. i also give him meow mix tender centers sometimes because he goes crazy for it. he plays a lot and i add water to his food so he’s in good shape. 😸😸

  Homeopathic doesn't mean non working lmao I use chamomile tea and lavender for relaxation and it's scientifically proven for that.

  This Vet really gave no defined info for feeding of cats. I have an adult inside cat that I adopted, he's 8 years old 26 lbs & needed to know how much dry food to feed him. My eyesight is bad & I'm not able to read the back of the bag so this for me was completely useless

  This is just superb, I've been looking for "how much homemade food should i feed my dog?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Sonannah Curious Smasher - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a good one of a kind guide for discovering how to unlock the secret the dog food industry is hiding minus the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my cousin got great results with it.

  Also I give my cat a semi- rotated diet also give her a smaller amount of the dry and then (only sometimes & as MORE liquid in the wet which they need anyways dry literally isn't so good for them overall otherwise!) just wet but they need nutrients from both also said chicken meats are best for them They also said to make sure they're getting enough folic acid Not enough nutrients in vegetables for cats either I wanna try mixing the best of the best wet cat foods also what about semi wet cat foods!?

  So I feed wet and dry combo. I go based on a set amount of calories a day. I spoke with my vet a month ago and determined 280 calories is good for a 6 month old cat. It’s only a month later, but his growth is rapid, which I understand is usual. For a very active cat, I have been feeding him the same. My concern draws at the fact that he is begging, like really begging for more. He knows where his food is stored, and he’s at the pantry door all the time just meowing at it and me. He puts his paws all over the door to let him in and give him more food. He doesn’t really show any signs of underfeeding, but he is my first baby. I am just concerned. With everything going on, going to the vet is rough right now too. Any recommendations?

  I should add that I went on vacation and I think the person that was baby sitting may have over fed him. It’s almost been a month since and I was hoping he was going to grow out of begging as I got him back on schedule.
