  The funny thing is that while dextromethorphan is indeed illegal in Japan, there is a good selection of medicines that are not illegal in Japan and are just displayed on the shelf even if they are Rx-only outside Japan. My personal recommendation is chlorpheniramine, though as an older antihistamine it will cause drowsiness. But do you know what is the most shocking thing that is not illegal in Japan? Ephedra (麻黄/マオウ). You know, the reason there is pseudoephedrine. They don't play with the pseudo stuff: it's the real stuff here in Japan. Only reason why I didn't get that when I got throat discomfort when I landed in Japan was that I don't like wasting medicines and I don't want to be arrested when I return home.

  in my familys history i have a bit of british in me, sometimes when i speak to my friends some words sound REALLY british and they just say things like "Omg (insert name) your being british again" which I totally understand as they aren't used to people having accents, but I still feel like people should learn that everyone has diffrent backgrounds.

  As someone of Taiwanese descent, I'm sometimes (ok that's a lie, usually) embarrassed when I go to Taiwan and struggle to talk to relatives. Language barriers suck, but I like how some countries try to get their citizens to learn English. My relatives also understand my situation and try to be as accommodating as possible. It's really nice to have someone to support you or comfort you in these types of situations, and I really love this video for this.

  For any prints I'm not framing, I use adhesive photo corners! Theyre the little sticky corners you can use for scrapbooks. I've had some on my wall for a long time now without any issues or damage, and you can get a bunch for cheap.

  I’m Korean and was raised in & live in Korea and speak both Korean and English fluently, but some of the things about being ashamed of your background I relate to. When I lived in the US for a while, I would cringe every time someone even mentioned the word “Korea.” Even though my neighborhood was like half Asian. So maybe the embarrassment is something that comes inevitably with living in a place when you have some traits that make you “different.”
