೧೯೬೨ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ ಆಗ ನನಗೆ ಸುಮಾರು ೧೪ ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯ ಹೈ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಓದುತಿದ್ದೆ ಒಂದು ಹಲಸಿನ ಹಣ್ಣು ಕುಡಿಯಲು ನೀರು ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಂಡು ಮಧುಗೀರಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟ ಹತ್ತಿದೆವು ಆದರೆ ೨;ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟ ಹತ್ತಲು ಬಹಳ ಕಷ್ಟ ಪಟ್ಟುವು ಅಬ್ಬಾ ಬಾ ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ವಾಪಾಸು ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗೋಣ ಎಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಬೆಟ್ಟ ಹತ್ತಿ ಹಲಸಿನ ಹಣ್ಣು ತಿಂದು ಸುಮಾರು ಎರಡು ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾಲ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮತ್ತೆ ಬೆಟ್ಟ ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದವರೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ದಿನ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳ. ಬೇಕಾಯಿತು. ! ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಧುಗಿರಿ . ಬೆಟ್ಟ ಹತ್ತಿದ್ದು ಅದು ಒಂದು ಮಿರಾಕಲ್ ಅಂತ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಲಾರದು !
