Knives Town

KZread Knife Reviews brought to you by Knives Town.

Knives Town was an online knife store that operated from May of 2007 through December of 2014. It was a home business, hobby and side income that my wife and I felt blessed to have. My wife Trish carried the bulk of the load, handling the store and orders during the day while I was at work. I did the reviews and miscellaneous tasks in the evenings and on weekends. Beginning in 2014 we began to get the feeling the store had run its course. It became increasingly difficult to operate given Google's stance on knives, and their frequent removal of our products from Google Shopping for reasons no one at Google could explain.

It was not all about Google though. My wife was desiring to pursue other interests, and the site did require constant attention even when we went on vacation. So ultimately we said a bittersweet goodbye to Knives Town and are thankful to have had it while we did. I will post videos of other interests going forward.

I bought one from bass pro and haven’t had a good experience. The blade came extremely dirty and trying to get fingerprints on they almost seem permanent and the Damascus already lost its black definition after oiling and cleaning it twice

Why is this so rare ? There's none on eBay, my clip broke on mine a few years ago and I threw it away I've regretted it ever since. I can't find one.😢

Hi Bob. I would think the knife is great, but the sheath is poor?? At least with the ka bar kecker bk2, the same type of glass reinforced nylon dulls the blade when removing and placing back in. Hope you are keeping well.

Great review of the features. Made in the USA and it’s hefty. Would have been nice to see the compartment here. The 4 holes also give you the option of attaching a pole/stick to make a spear. G10 grips, sheath, 1/4 steel, made in the USA and still just 200 bucks is a deal in my book. Hogue makes good stuff.

I bought a new one and its fantastic, unfortunately i returned it due to a couple issues and received a worse ,used knife ,im waiting on my refund and meantime i found replicas that are very good for a fraction of the price, but i only collect real knives and hope to buy another soon ,it was the finest large blade knife ive ever owned! Seemed indestructible

Was looking at one in a Pawn shop few days back. Looking closely at the un-used blade. I found a spot on the blade steel about half size of a pencil eraser diameter that was shiny without the Damascus appearance. Seemed a bit odd so I passed on thinking about making an offer. Seems like a great Company. I would be more inclined towards one of their standard Blade Bowies

I've carried the smaller Double Cross for many years, handiest and best knife ever. One-hand opening and locking make it extremely handy. The black "spacers" are steel springs. Replacements are difficult to find these days, not cheap but worth it. Thanks.

Tip: WD-40 is a terrible oil for rust prevention because it evaporates. Use beeswax or paraffin wax instead.

A number of differences between the original and this new version. The original comes with the pocket clip screws in the knife handle on the opposite side of where the clip is situated. Where in this version, the screws are only in the side that houses the pocket clip. The original does not need the liners as the actual body of the handles of the MOD Mk 1 act as liners. In the original the back strap has lightening recesses (slots) machined into the back strap. Minor differences to the seatbelt cutter as well. Nothing to write home about. Overall, an incredible knife. (Especially the original!)

Great knives. I own different models of the four star folder, as well the fixed blade models. I own also a Falcon, an almost exact copy from the 4 star with stag handle. The only difference is that the Falcon has a hollow grind blade and has a nail groove. Also great quality.

Makes a nice, satisfying snap on lockup. I love the Buck 110 and 112, but they weigh a ton compared to the Puma General and Sergeant. It wouldn't be too hard to add a pocket clip to a Puma. That would be awesome though, a pocket clip on it from the factory.

I ordered one and it's supposed to arrive around the 18th, it was advertised as a survival knife and it looks like a bowie knife on steroids! (Love it) I see now with all these finer details the thing is definitely meant for more than just chopping up stuff. A few other videos I saw on the knife definitely didn't show off all of the extra stuff and some of them didn't even know how or understand what they where looking at. Does the handle hurt your pinky when using the blade to chop stuff? I heard the extra material on the pommel will make the shock from chopping stuff ride up the handle and hurt your pinky and wrist!
