Sweet set up! Appreciate anyone building a DripRail!!!
What nitrogen bottle are you using ?
Those doors are made on a GTX-500 probably in Kansas.
Nice axle build! What do you think about the full 9” axle roller kits from trail gear? Looks like a more affordable way to build a fab 9”. Are the pieces quality though?
from the beating to the assemble , om gosh was that painful to watch. But I made it 1/4 through the video. Why do people think you need shitty music when not narrating?
The same reason why they invented volume knobs and the same reason why people feel the need to leave shitty comments.
yea I fell for those pitbull tires too . better tires I had were the Baja claws
Why'd you put the slab in after the structure? Seems like that would raise the difficulty of almost everything but especially of the slab work versus putting that slab in up front.
Lookup post frame construction.
@@RecklessWrenchGarage I don't have to since I already know and it's not germaine to the question. Just because post frame-in allows the slab to go in secondarily - or because it doesn't require a slab - doesn't mean that's the best way to go when you are definitely going to have a slab when you first put the building to use. So, again, why did you decide to put the slab in after the structure?
What min max angle does the upper left no bar to the frame need to be
very nice👍👍👍👍
I just found your channel and i love it!! the day of i bought a 1979 x1/9 crazy enough! How much did you pick yours up for? i got my yellow one without an engine for $250! Love the content!
309 rod and peen it, house insulation works great hot for 2 days
Ever try to change the axle seal by the 4x4 disconnect (passenger side) without pulling all the guts outa the pumpkin ? Having problems
Nice, very clear and informative
OK, you're an idiot. Just kidding, that looks awesome. Well done.
Love your video and shop ideas… what kind of round shop lights do you have? Looks like they were changed out for round glass?
They are hyper light led high bay lights. They are the same lights in all the videos, I just bought the plastic diffusers that you see to cut down on the blinding glare since they are so bright without them. They just are a bit easier on the eyes with the globes
Perfect! Thank you for your quick response
I was curious about the loft height and the height above it. This is exactly what I want. I don't have the space you do. Mine is 20 x 50. I wish I had an additional 10 feet of width but it was here when I bought the place. I am also in hot Texas. I will measure but think my ceiling is 18 feet. Great job. Dream shop is an understatement!
Essa suspensão precisa da panhard lateral do chassi pro diferencial?
You didnt talk about permit or engineering costs.. 😅 was that a requirement in your area?
That was a great and helpful video.
How exactly do you find the 3 link calcutor?
Looks like it would be a great alternative to my acetylene torch cart as well
silverado running in the rust belt. sits alot... I switched from hard steel lines due to corrosion to ptfe. they have been on the truck for brakes and clutch for almost 5yrs in ptfe. its worth the extra $ for prfe. ptfe is one and done with option for easy splices. that rubber core stainless is no better than regular fuel hose from local corporate auyoparts store.😅
How can i find those joints? Their are not heim joints right?
Great vid. Thanks! Did you have to lift the rear at all? I hear the F250 has about a 2 in block and F350 has a 4 inch. Any knowledge you can impart?
You are correct. The F350 has a 2 inch taller lift block to match the increased height from the front axle tube. I just took the lift block from the 350 that came with the springs and axle
Tactically acquired the idea!
The fires make it more exciting!
You got ripped off
Those springs appear arched, are they Super Duty leaf's?
The springs are factory f350 springs
I see you went from 3 leafs to 2 leafs. I'll be doing the same, a 'custom' 3 leaf like yours back to 2 leafs with the RSK kit. My question, how did that effect the lift? Just from what i can see it looks like about a 2" lift from before to after, or did you do something else to the ride height?
I got 2 inches of lift from the RSK. The leaf springs don't change the loft amount since I went from stock TTB springs to the stock f350 solid axle springs that the kit is designed to use
Excellent job! The only thing I would have tried to do differently if possible would have been to install the U-bolts with the nuts on top instead of on the bottom, just to minimize any catching with random stuff off road. But then again, I am a KZread computer master mechanic. What do I know, right? 🤣🤣
Looks like a lot of wasted wood on the stairs. Any reason why you put in vertical boards on the stairs instead of just putting in the horizontal steps only? The vertical boards for each step don't do anything as afar as I can tell, except for waste wood.
They are mainly to close the toe box so someone can't slip a foot under and trip. It also keeps crap from falling into my closet and compressor room under the stairs
Would you be willing to say which company you used to build the actual structure? Was it a well known national company, or a local company in your area? Do you think the 2" thick insulation would be enough if I wanted to make part of it as my home and the other part as my shop? Was it a pain dealing with the local county building code enforcement and paperwork by being your own contractor? The last thing I want to ask is did you have the money saved or paid as you went or were you able to get a loan from a bank?. This is an excellent video by the way. I like the details you added, like the rat guard. Thank you.
I used wolf barns and they are in Oklahoma and Texas. I don't have any codes or permits living in Texas to deal with. 2 inch thick minimum insulation was recommended for a conditioned living area This was with my own money I saved for a long time. Personal loans are an option as well for something on this budget.
I’m building a square body suburban. I know Chevy stuff but I just went down the ford rabbit hole recently. So I’m probably gonna go and get me a high pinion 44 and buy a 9 inch housing off summit for the rear. I never knew anything about high pinions but now that I do I wanna do high pinions front and back on my burb just because there’s so much you can do with these and how easy they are to build. I wanna do a Jana D50 in the front and a hi 9 in the rear. I’m assuming I can stick on a 14 bolt flange on the rear and run a full float axle shaft in the back. My burb isn’t a rock crawler I’m just building a overlander and intend to lift it little and stuff 35’s/37’s on it. The parts and modular design for these axles are crazy and I think they’ll be the perfect first dabble in fabrication/axle setup.
Isn't the fillerneck gonna interfere with the tire travel and shit it kicks up?
No interference at all. It is exposed in the wheel well so it may get hit with dirt and rocks. I could build a shield but I’m not concerned.
Eff'n bad-ass, guys! I wish I could find some swell Vatos like you guys to do this kind of 4 link work for me...Oh, wait. I still need to get myself a Burban first, & then have $ to pay...🤦♂
In Ravalli county Montana a 30' x 40' X 10' pole barn with inside 4" slab, one 16' x 8' garage door, 3' one man door, one 4' window, no vapor barrier is $40,500.00. This price did not include the dirt work, that was an additional $3,500.00 and had to find my own contractor for this. I had to cut into uphill side, about 6' cut on high side then slope and drainage ditches and was left with flat gravel pad. This would class as a basic build.
Nice job, thank you. I enjoy looking in on home made welding table videos. Mine is not the peak of welding table flatness or size or rigidity. But with the gift of an old steel-framed computer table from a school I had the basis I needed, it’s 2 feet x 4feet. I got a 3mm plate to fit it, laser cut to 18mm holes on 50mm hole-centres and it does for me. If I had to drill my own holes or I did the job again I think I’d choose 100mm centres (4 inch centres) because 50mm/2 inch centres mean a lot of holes and they must weaken any thinner plate and make it more likely to flex, and droop a bit in the middle. But as you say, DIY and save some dosh! Thanks again, Les
if I am adding a 4 inch lift and these reverse shackle kits does the 4 inch front lifted shock work ? or do I need to get taller ones ?
How can I purchase this adapter and what’s the cost?
www.911motorsports.net
Very informative!!! Thanks!
Hi guys im bit of noob with link suspensions and had some queries. How do you add lift ? How do you know your caster is correct and how do you adjust it? Does it affect handling on road ? All these questions are for an offroad vehicle.
What did you end up doing with your cross member?
I built a 4 point crossmember out of 1.75” DOM.
You’re in texas? How much did it increase your real estate taxes? Also is your property appraised at the same, equal, or more than your costs?
Have you seen any oil wicking up between the two wires? Any trouble with any other oil leaks? Great mod.
Nope, it's dry as a bone! It has about 1,000 miles on it now
@@RecklessWrenchGarage WOW. Thanks for the quick reply. That's great news.
I am a big fan of the permatex black sealant. It's a couple dollars more than other brands but it seals gear oil exceptionally well and has not let me down yet
Hey Chris, Great video on the post foundation barn. I’m over in Bastrop and plan on building something very similar. Is there a way to contact you direct, I have a few questions. Thanks.
Extreme prejudice Thank you for Sharon much appreciated I liked the humor
How big is this building?
Will that locker work with gears not intended for the 2011+ axle? Since I found out about the e-locker, I'm looking at building Sterling axle but I can only get gears as low as 4.88. will 5.13 gears for earlier axles fit on that locker?
These gears were from a 1994 axle, yes they swap right in!
Great explanation of suspension geometry and the effects of different arrangements.
So if you fee washboard feedback in the steering wheel do you adjust the low speed stiffer or softer?
I would try softening the low speed first and see how that feels. I like to start from all the way soft on the clicker so you can feel one extreme then work firmer from that
So on my DSCs I have the adjusters all the way soft.. low speed and high speed.. But My bypasses are mostly closed. I opened the rebound 20 clicks, and the first compression tube 20 clicks.. Left the 2nd bump tube at 4 clicks so its still mostly closed and Ill use that as my "bump zone" since I dont have air bumps in the front yet.. Rear is a different story.. Working on perfecting those bypasses and I have air bumps back there so that helps alot. Im just having a hard time on knowing what the vehicle should feel like versus what I like. I dont care about how I like it.. I want it to preform exactly how it should and how its supposed to. @@RecklessWrenchGarage
