    I have been playing golf for 35 years and seriously have hit this flop OFF THE FAIRWAY litteraly 3 or 4 times. Usually over a front bunker. But mostly i have hit this shot from the rough to get it to stop.

    Yes, you can hinge & hold with any club in the bag. If you add more backswing It would be called a punch shot. Experiment at the range & figure out which club works best. 🍻

    @therealgolfsecrets, well, it works and works well! No surprise to you though 😊 I can't believe how well it worked. I just pulled straight down and sat into my lead foot & the rest was automatic. The ball exploded off the club face effortlessly. I was definitely not getting into my lead side fast enough before. 👍

  • @therealgolfsecrets
    @therealgolfsecrets2 күн бұрын

    @therealKatsudoShashin Nice! Glad to hear it Katsudo & yes you're absolutely right. The golf swing only takes 1.5 secounds & most get into their lead foot far too late, causing a ton of issues. I like to say "sit down" as I squat into the lead foot. I say & do this immediately after I initiate the pull with the shoulder muscles. Having an effortless golf swing becomes a priority as we get older. 🍻

    I've been using standard length clubs forever and just found out I should be at -.5 inches. But I'm still only +4 handicap for 18 holes. Feel like it'll mess my swing up

  • @therealgolfsecrets
    @therealgolfsecretsКүн бұрын

    Get a duplicate of your current 7 iron cut to the shorter spec with the same swing weight. Hit a bucket of balls with each... you'll know what's best for you. Definitely try a shorter driver at your next D fitting. Try a 44" like Rory uses. If you gain more control with only a 5 yard loss...it's bye bye handicap. 👋

    It's difficult to get the coat hanger aligned with the ball and your target. I wrap the hanger around my inside approach, foam arm. Other thing, use a tee so you don't have to move the hanger on every hit.

  • @therealgolfsecrets
    @therealgolfsecrets7 күн бұрын

    Using a tee is definitely a must. As for alignment, I just use the target that the coat hanger allows me to have, but I set it up Tom's way with no other devices to sink up with. Thanks for sharing your experience & tips John 🍻

    Just watched this yesterday and I have to say Thank You Phil! I’m a pretty good golfer and I basically know what he was teaching BUT early on in the video he clarifies what he means by “holding the hinge in his wrists” - the hinge being maintained by accelerating the hands vs “holding” the hinge with his wrist muscles. This totally clicked with me. Easy to practice and execute (for me). Took it to the course yesterday and was a chipping/pitching genius! All credit to this tip.

    Rory worked that tee box at Pinehurst. He shaped shots, lower trajectories and used his woods more off the tee box. His putter may have let him down the stretch but he'll win again. He plays golf for a living, life is good.

    You cant break 100, if you could you would realize he messed the chip up by going past the hole on 18 which left him a 4ft putt down hill where he has to start it outside of the cup. Its tje hardest putt in golf . He tried to drain the chip instead of leaving it a ft short so he has an easy up hill putt. All scratch golfers understand this

    Hogan and Snead style swing encompass baseball swing fundamentals, old school swing mechanics, left knee has to turn deeper to load the power rearward. Spiral the lead arm like Hogan for lower swing plane. This up and down loading equals back injuries. just ask Ben Hogan😂😂😂
