Slightly confusing. In the beginning, it seemed as if Mark was looking at YT Analytics as a product, primarily, to be consumed by creators. But then very quickly, it shifted from that to a product to be consumed by YT employees/leadership. Secondly, on the question of what could be leading to increase in revenue but drop in engagement, I was hoping it would be related to increase in ads or something related. PS: Just being an armchair critic :)
@mollangee89219 күн бұрын
I agree on this. In the beginning it was assumed that Mark is the product manager for YT Analytics, but then he answered all the questions as if he were a PM for KZread. The target consumers of the YT analytics should be the creators, right? I was so confused the whole time while watching this video.

Hi, thank you for the interview! Very interesting points. I have a question about prioritising. Mark prioritises user segments based on whether they will use the App. But isn't it an upside-down approach? Each segment will use the app in case it solves this User Group's pain points. For example, a Kids Amusement Park App could have tons of minigames, etc.

Interesting take on the chrome improvement question. I likely would have echoed the mission of the company first then double down on the collection of additional data aspect and display it to the user based on search relevancy. For example if I were to search for LA clippers I would show flyouts of latest game results along with merchandise and also ways to watch the next game. Counter metric here would be drop off due to too much different info types and make chrome busier than it needs to etc Structure and presentation here was very sound and easy to follow. The issue with memory consumption and getting lose with tabs are both very real and relatable

An experienced M would find Q3 answer smelly because pausing delivery to address tech debt means putting several quarters of forward looking results on hold while adding investments - it's much more than what one person can "discover" and "convince". While the answer is eloquent, it didn't really have the aha moment on where interviewee added value and it appear like he's taking credit for many people who were all pushing for a re-platforming.

Would have liked to hear more about how he would measure CSAT, also agree with the leading vs lagging indicators comment. On pain points, he didn’t explain why the pain point he chose to solution for is better to drive toward the selected goal. And while it’s good to reference personal experiences, it felt like he was just trying to solve his own problem vs exhibiting user empathy.

sorry, but this is not a great answer. porters 5 forces are very bookish. The idea should be 1)CQ:why am the new CEO? A/Goal: To focus on profitability(bottom line net positive) with moderate growth in the near term and ensure long term prospects. 2)So, Uber has 3 major existing businesses (rideshare, food delivery, freight). Let's look at how we can become more efficient in these(with use of AI, better business models etc. ) . Let's also look at the org structure and see where we can optimize. 3) Now next is let's focus on moderate growth (maybe high single digits YoY). This means we'll look at how these businesses are doing globally and see where we can increase marketshare(India, Brazil, Japan, US etc.). 4) Put metrics in place to track these in QBR. 5)Now just single digit growth and efficiency cannot be a long term strategy. So, let's look at LT bets without impacting profitability. Partnerships with autonomous driving companies, car rental companies etc. Calculate TAM/opportunity and how much benefit does it bring Uber. This should be ideally another billion dollar market. Interviewee did a great job with Analytics interview on another video(clear he has a lot of expertise there but strategy was kindda lacking here)
