One last comment, this interview was a big win for the channel, congrats! Be aware, that Trudeau is aiming at a younger audience, which is why he chose a KZread channel. There are legitimate concerns about housing for people starting out in life, however, what's disturbing, is that Trudeau is drumming up divisiveness over wealth, blaming so-called "wealthy people" for not paying their "fair share", whatever that means. Ironically, Trudeau is among the top of wealth in this country, he was born wealthy, and never had to work a real job in his entire life. We've seen what divisiveness will do throughout history, resulting in violence and economic ruin. I'm deeply disturbed that Trudeau is messing with the tax system for political gain, he's abusing his position as PM, using it to try and win votes while in office. His duty is to *all* Canadians, not some Canadians, and definitely not to only himself! Too bad the "alternative minimum tax" (AMT) was not brought up, that's another overly complex misunderstood mess all by itself, it will add to the burden caused by the cap gains increase, affecting more than only a tiny number of so-called wealthy people.

Heheh reminds me of Canada when Nortel networks was about basically the Toronto stock exchange and everyone including my parents were invested in the equivalent of the S&P of Canada... Nortel crashed and so did the country it was a bad time for everyone. Edit: I would like to point out that most of people didn't invest in Nortel but the Canadian pensions plans were maxed with Nortel. It's a lesson that's not lost on me.

Trudeau dodged the question about concerns the increased capital gains tax will discourage future investments, he instead started talking about balancing the gap between dividends and cap gains, which are two very different things, and then he started talking about housing, which has nothing at all to do with the cap gains tax increase, as if increasing the tax on gains will miraculously make homes less expensive and in more supply. The businesses who build homes, are expecting capital gains from their hard work and risk taking, which will soon be taxed higher! How will making businesses pay more to build homes help? Trudeau also said the capital gains tax will affect the "point one percent" which is either a lie or misspeak. The gains increase affects considerably more people than 0.1%, and a lot more than 1%, if that is what he meant to say. At least 10-20% will be affected, many will be small business owners like myself who get a one time cap gains payment when we sell our business. We're hardly "wealthy" and very far away from the 0.1% of wealth, not even close to the 1%. I do not get a pension, I took significant risks, suffered through economic hardship, and have been banking on selling my business for retirement. Trudeau is messing with my retirement, and I'm super pissed to say the least. I'll not vote for anyone associated with the Liberal party while under the control of Trudeau. Unfortunately, the cons are silent on the issue, and it looks like a train wreak lies ahead.

This is how leaders, answer the critical questions without dodging them completely For example Question: What is a tree? Student's Preparation: The student prepared for a different question: What is a goat? Student's Response: "This is a tree. I tie the goat to this tree. Now, let me explain everything about the goat."

CZ NEEDS to go FED prison for at least 15 years no parole and if he wants a sentence reduction -- he NEEDS to chirp on a LOT of his high end clients! This is FAR from over!! CZ, is OWNED by the Chinese mainland ELITE who were LAUNDERING YUAN by the multi millions - this is because of the FEAR of falling out of the graces of the China dictatorhip! This has been going on for YEARS and to make it WORSE-- the RUSSIAN drug cartel has BEEN using Binance to launder multi millions! It would be disgusting if this were just a civil suit and no LONG term sentencing! Think about this-- CZ some how gets to CLAIM he has not "mis used funds of clients" -- he is just a - " PORTAL "--- this makes him VERY COMPLICIT and VERY guilty of setting up a site to launder BILLIONS and -- how about ALL the money he got paid! NO -- he did not make his fortune off being an exchange--that is JUST a NICE CLEAN ---FRONT -- that did honest transactions for the "typical small clients" this is a NICE SCREEN -- all the while he ls a PART of a whole CHAIN of laundering1 The CHAIN; Binance has MANY BRANCHES ( like an international bank) and this is a BETTER SCAM: the Rich mainland Chinese Oligarchs and the Russian oligarchs, and drug cartel --- get to send their THEFT -- ALL OVER the world and it WAITS for them to exchange it in EUROS and other currencies! This is FAR beyond some little slap on the hand, CZ NEEDS to be a roommate of a lifer who NEEDS a GIRLFRIEND!! The point of that--- is to put a LOT of pressure on CZ to give up the MULTITUDES of high end Chinese AND other ultra wealthy who are peddling drugs -- selling MILITARY weapons and much more! I am a little disappointed in your --"laissez - faire" description and lack of depth in this massive scheme set up by CZ!

Robinhood turned off buying because of a collateral crunch, not because of some consumer-oriented failsafe like a market halt. Keith Gill is not the reason for the run, is it possible that someone had to liquidate their swaps/shorts, and that caused a run? Why would the meme stocks all jump at the same time but with different degrees of magnitude? Is it possible that they are lumped together in a short basket derivate that connects them? Fundamentals WOULD drive the stock price in a normal market. When you short a company, you artificially drag the ticker price down for the purpose of allegedly resetting the price to a perceived ‘correct’ value. However, due to the rewards of delisting a hurting company through shorting, the goal has now become to sink the company and therefore go well beyond what is ‘normal’ behavior…is it possible that is happening? You mention again that the stock price is detached from company performance, then that would indicate that something else is going on…is it possible that it is NOT retail and instead another entity? You and I both know that publicly reported short interest is not entirely reliable information…is it possible that through conversion of those shorts into other derivatives, could mask its face value? Is it possible the SEC investigation did not dig very deeply and believed that company’s scared away from short positions? If nobody is interested in shorting the stock, why does it still have oddly high report short interest? This is a contradiction to your prior point. The short sellers didn’t cover in 2021, which is why it didn’t squeeze. They doubled down. I’ll ask again: Is it possible that a portion of the recent run was an institution covering? Do you really think all the price action is solely attributed to retail purchasing? You completely misunderstand the BBBY play that Ryan Cohen was making, he offered to help turn around the company and take Buy Buy Baby as payment basically, and BBBY board sank the turnaround, so he abandoned them to sink on their own. He got what he wanted out of the deal, right to a potentially valuable name. I like that you are honest about not having a focus or specialization in this subject, and none of us in the position do, but I came into it with an open mind and its possible that this could be a highly complex scheme not unlike the mortgage-backed security bond failure. If you had the opportunity to be on the winning side of the most asymmetrical bet on a company you can think of, with an outcome where the other side is woefully in debt, and all you have to do is buy the stock and sit on it……what is the obscene danger you seem to be warning about? You could lose your money in any other stock with a 2008 style market downturn tomorrow. I didn’t buy the stock based on memes, and to reduce the play to something as frail as that without giving credence to the possibility of covert shorting is a little unfair and dismissive.

I have a question that will illustrate a lot of ignorance on my part, but it's been driving me low-level nuts ever since I made the mistake of reading the original Heat Lamp theory post and the associated nonsense that followed it: if a stock fall so much in value that it DE-LISTS, doesn't that make it difficult for anyone short that stock to actually cover their position? I realize that at that point the party loaning the stock probably doesn't really care if they ever get it back, but if a stock isn't listed on an exchange, how do you buy it?

The thing is, there's every possibility that someone simply hacked Roaring Kitty's social media and posted those memes. After the BBY incident and Folding Ideas' video "This Is Financial Advice", people have known that the Gamestop "Apes" have enough power to cause temporary market shifts . Someone could have bought a bunch of GME stock, posted the memes, and then cashed out once the stock hits its peak. Given what happened, if that was the plan, then they got exactly what they were hoping for.

Trudeau is a typical politician - endless rambling without saying anything of essence, focus on the future rather than accountability on his own actions while in power. For those of us who can see through the likes of him an interview like this is nothing short of infuriating. We all deserve the politicians we put in power and the consequences of their rule.

You shouldn't worry if you didn't press the PM on certain issues. Simply asking straightforward questions and allowing him to answer them without interruption is a refreshing change from interviews that tend to degenerate into shouting matches. I'm sure that the vast majority of your viewers are quite capable of judging the value and/or veracity of Mr. Trudeau's answers.

I heard in a radio story this week that China is "suggesting" that regional governments purchase distressed developments to turn them into affordable housing. The article further commented that since the regions that these developments are in were often involved in financing the initial development, it is not clear how effective this strategy will be. I hope you, or someone similarly thoughtful, does an update on the situation Is this plan feasible? How much demand for affordable housing is there? If Russia's economy is growing more tied to China as the war in Ukraine drags on, are there implications there?
