Hi I am Michael Gardner and I'm a Canadian amateur racing driver. My currents cars are a built cammed NA 350Z and a Built NA Cammed C6Z06. I try to compete in organized events as much as possible. My 330whp NA VQ35DE 350Z has won 7 different time attack championships in different classes and set 18 different track records. This is the story of my track experiences and my Nissan 350Z track build and my new Corvette build. What makes my channel different? My 350Z was my first car and I’ve now owned it for more than 16 years. My mission is to show that a 350Z, which is now a popular track car platform, can be extremely competitive and doesn’t need a completely blank check to do it. We go through the building process and then enter the car in real sanctioned timed competitions. There’s no hiding behind a keyboard or a camera. There’s no one best take for a social media account. It’s just an honest account of what works and what doesn’t.

good stuff. Hopefully the oil issue's fixed soon. I'm guessing it's a valve cover gasket, they tend to pop out and become unseated during the install.

@@iconicstance2994 competition clutch I think but can’t recall the model. Stock gear box. Not yet officially weighed since some changes made. Will also depend on how much fuel is on board. 110 lb fuel capacity I think .

In my country we have a saying “All beat, no speed” which means the car sounds nice / is loud, but does a 10+ seconds 0-60, etc. some dude with a Ford Fiesta Ecosport with a 5 inch straight-pipe

hey question i crashed into a wall on my track Z it just lost full traction on a long right corner going downhill i hit a bump but im not sure if theat caused my crash can you make a videon on your suspension specs?ireally dont now if i was battling the front heavniss of the car or the rear came off the ground maybe my springs were to stiff? im quite lost lmao

How low is your car? Mid high-speed turn your suspension would have been quite loaded. It's possible that the bump could have fully bottomed your car out and freaked out when you hit the bump stops. That's a lot of guessing still tho. One of the good reasons for videoing everything and capturing data is for good retrospectives. Either way, my condolences on the crash
@@danger_technical my car was really low i had a Z before but i got hit from the side and flipped over im starting to just leave the chassy in general and go to e46 m3 or somthing man thanks though i really like Zs haha

It’s not just about the hp, it’s the torque and weight too. With just a ls1, you have a lot more low end torque. Plus, an aluminum 5.7 is about 420lbs with accessories. What’s a vq?. With a ls1, you’ll make roughly 360whp fbo. 400+ cammed. I have a 06 z, 11 Coyote and 04 gto ls1. A coyote would be the coolest and best but hardest to swap
What cams are you running?
I got a vq35 needing rebuild soon is,can anyone answer my question to how reactive these engines are to cams is it worth getting cammed or just rebuild back to stock spec
Stock spec is probably safe bet. The cost to power level isn’t going to be what you dreamed

@@2THPWR there's no tracks where I stay I just want a 300-350 whp daily whether I build my 4.6 or vq and I'd be happy with the difference 50 hp would make,I don't have to race others to use it I just want a fun car to play in I'm not trying to compete I don't dream of it being super fast it's just alittle 3.5 that needs a rebuild anyway and i want more power but can't afford a 5.0 coyote lol
