It's good you enjoyed Turkey but you should always remember that your experience is not the same as many people who live there. Christians living in this predominantly muslim state are persecuted and abused on a daily basis and any westerner who encounters the police is likely to suffer abuse. I would never visit this place based on all I know about it, Turkey is a beautiful part of God's creation and very interesting but such is the abusive dominance of islam it prevents me from being comfortable there.
3:07 Kids are good to pick up the feeling of the adults. Man is stressed as hell, so kid could be mirroring it. Stay calm and stay safe <3
The anxiety may be related to that feeling of when everythings going right, we anticipate something will go wrong, especially if theres been incidents in the past.
This is a great video
I was ready for a segway into a plug for Talkspace, kinda glad you didnt.
Don't worry about Oso, he's got four wheel drive
Yet another excellent video. Over the years of watching your episodes, I am frequently amazed at the meals Desaray whips up while on board. Has there been any consideration of writing and publishing a cookbook? I am sure that your hands are full bringing up a young lady, having a dog on-board, shooting and editing your episodes. So, another project may not be possible. My wife and I do camping and RVing and many of Desaray’s masterpieces sure look yummy for out travels.
Little Isa did not seem to be deeply impressed by that storm!
I admire you guys so much. What a great family. I have been in conditions like that, and its not fun.
Oh. Bless her 😢
It is the first human instinct you have to deny when at sea, the land is not your friend. You have a good boat - the right decision would be to leave the dock and go to open sea immediately when wind raised from unprotected direction. That would be the safest option. This time you were lucky, it was blowing only 35-40kn. In Med (especially north) you should expect storms easily blowing 55-60kn for short period of time - that one could destroy your boat.
These are your best videos, I do miss the Sea Wind 30 videos. Still on Miss McKenna up in Jax. Florida doing in water refit along with the Allied MK ll on the hard at Green Cove Springs Marina. Still with you on your Mediterranean cruise.
Lessen learned, thanks for your Dads Umpire Wisdom!
Dude ,Turkey is more secular even than USA . The elected turkish president never wows on quran or another holly books. Additionally there are many atheist citizens in turkey Like me
This is on my wish list. Just need to rub the right bottle!
Great episode, shows the daily challenge of the elements or sure!
I’m so happy that you’re safe, I enjoy your adventures but storms are one of the downsides of sailing. God’s watching over you all ❤️
Lisa is going to be a hell of an adventurer one day 😅
Hi guys! I'm back in Key West now and enjoying your videos immensely. You e taught me much, and I must thank you for it. You're living my dream, and allowing me to live it vicariously. I know it's not easy, but you make it look like it is. Keep on, and I hope to catch up with you again one day to talk story.
You guys are so awesome! William and I are super fans.
One point I truly appreciated below deck, and there were alot, was the finish on the wood wasn't hyper glossed. That finish just ruins an interior for me. Safe is sound is serenity. Great job on that vessel.
Consider yourself lucky that atleast you can roam around the world without needing a visa.
When do they return to America?
Does that leeboard do the job. Looks to me like the leg will press against the ledge. I imagine that could be painful.
Religious tolerance is an Islamic concept. We believe in equal rights for non-Muslims. Secularism is an atheistic ideology that promotes atheism and hedonism within society. That goes contrary to cultural moral values that have been instilled within us. The sad part being secularism has been used as something to attack Islam and Muslims by politics while Secularism is far from perfect itself and every now and then we witness the hypocrisy of those who try to promote it but never practice it themselves, however they do expect Muslims to adopt and practice it.
It ıs a great chance to go all countries without visa. You are so lucky.
I think you should always trust your instincts. And sometimes that's not as easy as one might think. Love your channel!
Doing the Turkish "Wind Twist".
Turkish people are good hearthed
hey great channel, i was wonder if there is something wrong with Isabella's left cheek.. i hope its not something important
Wow as you rushed from the boat to the shore I could only think how much the channel has changed. Not just the two of you 😊😊 anymore ....
3 months or 3 years... one day we all regret it didn't take 30 years ;-)
wow that storm was crazy
Intense guys! Glad y'all safe. You both handled that well I thought. Good decision making captain.👍🙏
Turks love more the vegetables and meat taste the reason why many dishes are less saucey
Thanks for showing the real, frustrating moments. It's reality and the way you both handled it and showed it is so amazing.
It’s not true that Hagia Sophia was the first architecture to build dome. First dome building was built in Mesopotamia in modern Iraq and was extensively used in Persia. Its highly likely that the Byzantine was influenced by near eastern buildings
Turkey is a country with so many minorities. Kurds only are 30.000.000 so the issue between being secular or islamic is the least of the major problems of existence
it is Türkiye
Awesome teamwork you guys!
The water is so pretty and blue. Iam glad you all are safe
Learning is valuable but thinking in advance so you do not have the learn the hard way later is even more valuable. You did that thinking very well indeed at both the anchorage and the marina! Well done.
You keep saying "this is the prettiest anchorage we've ever been in"! Come on, when are you going to have the Walmart parking lot of anchorages!?
🤣
Ok, that was crazy, you guys are very BRAVE
Bingeing from the beginning and it just dawned on me who Des looks like. In opening talk I thought totally Sandra Bullock. Amazing videos.
Its not stealing if its from a catamaran ? Wtf ?!
Another great video, My 8 yr old twin daughters enjoy watching you all and, Sailing La Vagabonde. Stay Safe!!
Jordan, Desiree, the last time 'Windwalker' was in a twisty squall like that (8 years ago - mushroomed into a late May derecho while we were underway), there were 2-4 foot seas coming out of the sheltered spaces, plus a dismasting capsize under a 40-kt wind shear. The bliss on Isa's face afterward was priceless. Atticus II weathered it well. 😊 Blessings, S/V Windwalker
Intense episode! I mostly tune in these days for the Isa content, but this was truly frightening. I loved Jordan's Dad's wisdom, too.
❤❤❤🙌🏼🙏🏻
