    This video has the connection for the mirror speakers: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m3mbw5epaa62XZc.html I did this before the TeslaOffer/Hansauto kit was available. The concept is the same - tapping into an existing signal to connect the other speakers. The kit makes it easier, but you still need to buy the pricier kits to get the amp or sub.

    This sounds so complicated. on Hansshow channel they have a wiring harness for enabling the six speakers and it’s just basically finding the plugs and plugging their wiring harness into it.

  • @diybyalbert127
    @diybyalbert1273 жыл бұрын

    I recently saw that too - the harness does seem to make it easier. I did this before they launched that. I wouldn't personally power the additional speakers without an additional amp though.

    DIY by Albert Would this be the process for someone with a model 3 standard range or plus. Purchase wiring harness to enable all 14 speakers then purchase an amp and sub?

  • @diybyalbert127
    @diybyalbert1273 жыл бұрын

    It should be the same for both. I think the SR is just a software locked plus model. If it's a 2020 or later model, you may need to wire in the rear speakers as they may not be physically present.

    Hello @2:40 you had a huge finger going at the top but your video skipped to when it was tacked down. May I please ask what you did to bring that finger down given I noticed you had tacked the surrounding area of it? Thank you.

  • @diybyalbert127
    @diybyalbert1273 жыл бұрын

    I must have missed the process when cutting the clips together. I pulled the film down (after using the tack solution) and tacked it to an adjacent panel as well for ease of keeping the film in place (more surface tension). The panel gaps are pretty wide around the headlight of this car so I was able to trim the film using the gap in this area and was able to wrap the edge. Note: this was not possible for the lower edge of the headlight.

  • @diybyalbert127
    @diybyalbert1274 жыл бұрын

    Yes, I added it after. The sound was too harsh without it. I still find the front tweeters a little too overpowering that I might end up tapping the dash speakers for the fade and balance and to lower the gain.

    @@diybyalbert127 So, I am interested in just activating the mirror tweeters, not the rear shelf speakers. In order to do that, would I still need an amplifier?

  • @diybyalbert127
    @diybyalbert1274 жыл бұрын

    I think the mirror tweeters are 35w speakers so running them in parallel to a tapped connection would not be enough power to split between 2 speakers. But you can use a cheaper 2 channel amp though.

    So sorry to hear that Daniel. Did you turn off the auto fold mirrors before you removed it? It sounds like it's not seated correctly. I'm not a technical expert but try power folding it a few times, it may catch on again.

  • @danielmorse2634

    @@diybyalbert127 yeah, I've tried folding and unfolding to get it to catch, but to no avail. Then tried to pop it out again but cant get it out now. Seems it may have "caught" a quarter turn from the rightt spot or something... SC says it needs a new mirror, but I'm hoping I can just get it to pop in. Very frustrating. • @diybyalbert127

    Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I have added a disclaimer to the video. The motor itself is on the mirror not the base. If it turns when the mirror power folds, and no plastic is stripped, the mirror should be fine. @@diybyalbert127 Yeah, brought it to Tesla, it is not repairable. Wiggled it around plenty of times. The problem is if it "catches" on the wrong part of the mirror it is now stuck there... If it is not the right angle it will not be able to come off again and you can't get it in the right place either.

    Did you end up having to buy the Audio Control LC7i? Didn't see it on your list

  • @diybyalbert127
    @diybyalbert1274 жыл бұрын

    I didn't use the LC7i. I used a cheap Scosche line output converter because I didn't want to spend the extra money or find a place to hide the LC7i. If I hadn't bought it already I would have just cut off the RCA plugs of the amp and wire the input directly. I tried shooting the full install but it didn't turn out that well because in some places there wasn't a lot of room to work with.
