    Hi can I ask I have a problem with pre injection 1 activation duration is showing 0 on my scann tool . It’s a cayc 1600cc Vw beetle 2014 plate . Main injection is 0.3735 1 injection is 0 2 injection is 0.276 3 injection is 0.284 Many thanks .

    Thanks for the video and for helping the community... I have 1.6 tdi dsg with 9922 soft up. B injectors, 130k km. I did this adaptation and the clicking sound that came from the injectors is much quieter now. I did not have any symptoms apart from that sound. The adaptation ran for about 5ish minutes, up until 3200rpm couple of times. I don't feel any change in performance.

    very good video!!!👍, a question?? My lights stay on and the turn signals stay on, there is no way to turn them off just by disconnecting the battery, and the driver's door is also open when it is closed and the remote control opens but does not close the doors. Could it be from the BSM module? someone has happened to him tanks 🙏🏻

    Yes the BCM is controlling these components so highly likely CAN bus signals are flying around due to bad solder joints on the connectors.

    Tanks!!!🥳Yes, it is almost the most likely, thank you, but don't you also look at the internal components? On the other side of the board, I'm hearing small relay noises that seem like bad contact or something. Could you tell me if the BCM board has any mini relays???? because I think there is one that is stuck or makes bad contact, because I hear it and they are not from the other fuse panel but rather it seems from this one, thank you very much

    ​@urigenvan in most module failures the physical stress points are on the wiring connectors thus the pins soldered through the pcb tend to cold fracture first. Ultimately the large variety of errors that manifest are due to the MPU on the board powering up and down rapidly sending spurious data messages around the bus. I would check all the pins first.

    Just got a VCDS and I'm about to do this. I was about to throw the car off a cliff. Everything started with the bolt of injector 1 and 2 snapping off and spewing oil all over the engine. Got the car to the mechanic, he knocked the injectors so hard that I got the car the next day with intermittent solenoid issue on injector 4. Replaced injector 4 with a refurbished one then all of a sudden I noticed that the car was regenerating every 40km! So, I'm thinking one of the others must be leaking. Checked injector fuel deviation and two had over 5mg/str difference!Replaced two more injectors with used ones and now the car shakes and jumps on gear 1 and 2, blue smoke coming from the exhaust and regeneration every 20-30km! Overall really terrible experience (never getting a diesel German car again). Toyota Prius here I come!

    Is it the CAY 1.6 engine? Very reliable engine actually. Injectors are not solenoid, they are Piezo. Any knocks to the piezo pack on the head will damage the crystal wafer pack. Clamp bolts break either because 1. Bolt is reused 2. Wrong torque 8nm +180degree. Used Injectors are a gamble at best. Hope it works out man 👍

    @@enginemanagementadventures7305 Compared to my 25-year-old Honda, this goes under my 'unreliable list' and I'm not trusting it ever again. Last time the injector bolt was removed was from the dealer (10 years ago) to do the exact same job. Breaking bolts (due to design fault...the bolt is an M6!) and replacing injectors with a cost of 1000-2000 every 10 years I don't consider it a bargain. Hopefully the car will get fixed and I'm selling it the next day.

    @@enginemanagementadventures7305 sorted it out. VCDS, coded the injectors properly but car was still shaking. Turns out that I had to recalibrate the DSG as well. The clutch was old so a recalibration fixed the 1-2 gear shaking. Feels like a brand new car!

    Golf 1.6 tdi cayc 2011 my mechanic only replaced the piezo of cylinder 1 with another used one because it was burnt without replacing the injector. Does it still need to be recoded? How do I know what value to enter? furthermore I have -2mg/stroke on cylinder 1 at idle, while the "cylinder 1 main injection voltage charge" value is 690 uAs, about 40 points less than the other 3 cylinders. After 200km I had the same P0201 problem again but this time by resetting the errors, cylinder 1 also started again. I can hear a lot of noise between 1000 and 2000 rpm while I accelerate, both hot and cold.. before the piezo broke, the engine was perfect with no noises.. this procedure could solve my problem or should i replace the injector with new one? Thank you so much for any suggestions

    Warning to anyone attempting to do this with a third party tool. I was trying to use an Xtool D9S Pro to perform the adaptation. It didn't run the correct program and got into the infinite loop problem. You will know you are in the correct program because the instructions will tell you to press the clutch and brake pedal, then release, then accelerator and release. The incorrect program will tell you to press and hold the brake pedal and accelerator together. Furthermore, the incorrect program WILL delete all existing adaptation points and the engine will run very rough after you finally give up. In my case it was running rough, misfiring, vibrating excessively, deviations were +2 to +5 and there was a lot of smoke and injector knock. When I switched to using VCDS and following instructions properly, the correct program ran successfully, but did not fully fix the rough running. I ended up running the program multiple times and after the second run, the engine was purring again quite nicely but the deviations were still a bit high. By my third time running the adaptation program, the deviations had gone down to well below 1 and my issues were resolved. And one final point, be sure to run a DPF regen BEFORE doing the adaptation. It appears an excessive DPF differential pressure has a detrimental affect on injector adaptations, so by doing a DPF regen, you give the vehicle the best chance to properly adapt the injectors. Just make sure to shut down the engine after the regen, wait for the ECU to shut down, and then starting from fresh proceed to running the adaptation.

    I have come to the conclusion this will only work if your engine ECU software is at least version 9972. My 2010 ECU software version is only at 8831 so not compatible with this test procedure .This is in relation to 1.6 TDI CAYC engine. If you disagree and have hands on experience,please comment and correct me.

    Hi, i have tried to do this function on my VCDS 19.6.1 as per your very detailed instructions. However once security access accepted and basic settings IDE06141 selected go. It then askes me to press the brake and the accelerator together and keep them pressed ?. My engine rpm remaines at 800 and nothing else happens even after 5 mins. I dont understand why my VCDS procedure is different to yours which oviously works,whereas mine does not. Do you have any thoughts on this,is my version of VCDS to old? If the 1DE 06141 is listed you woul;d expect it to work,but it does not.

    Does anyone know if IDE06141 will only work if a certain ECU software is loaded? As my ECU has 2010 software version 8831,my minimum quantity adaption failed to work. I have NOT had the EA 189 fix done to my Golf Mk6

    Hi, just tried to do this on my VW Golf Mk6 1.6 tdi cayc 2009 Simos PCR 2.1 ECU software 8831. My VCDS version is 19.6.1 it failed to do this adaptation even though security access was accepted. Is this because my ECU software is to low at 8831 which is 2010 date? I have read others saying ECU software needs to be 9971 pre EA 189 ref diesel gate scandal for this to work. Do you have any information or personal experience of why this adaptiom might fail? Any help would be most appreciated.

    Mine wouldn’t work initially. Had the engine up to temp and followed the exact instructions in the video but it would just sit at 800rpm. I had to get the ECU software updated mine was too low. Local tuner updated it for me now it works no issues.

    Hello. First of all thanks for the video explanation it's very usefull. But I have a problem with my car : golf 6 1.6 tdi cayc - 252.000 km After the adaptation procedure I still have a rough idle. Let me explain my situation. I've just changed the number 3 injector ( electricaly fail - low résistance ) with a brand new Continental one. I have cleared the p0203 error code then I warmup the engine till correct temp ( no error code ). Then I've made the procedure exactly as described in the video. It last for about 15-20min counting for about 28 throttle blips each cycle. Once the adaptation procedure completed in the vcds the idle remain rough. For the measured value of deviation Inj 1 : 0.6 - inj 2 : 0.3 - inj 3 : +2.0 - inj 4 : -1.9 So values remained the same as before adaptation. The car doen't have any other issue. It was running fine before the injector error code Concerning the injector 4. I had to remove the piezo head in order to extract the injector with a pneumatic injector puller because it was stuck. I've cleaned the nozzle of the injector in an ultrasonic bath. I've torqued the nut at 25Nm. I've cleaned injector seats with the correct reamer, put new copper washer and new clamp bolt torqued at 8Nm + 180°. I measured a resistance of 199 kohms Other info : Adaptation ide06141 made with Vcds clone 19.6.1 Ecu software 9983 So what I'm missing ? Do I need a Genuine vcds for that ? Maybe other people have or had a similar issue. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Did all the steps on the video exactly, but the IDE06141 Adapting injector option isn’t in my list?! 2010 1.6TDI Skoda CAYC engine… any idea why it wouldn’t be there?

    The codes need to be entered first, that is compulsory. You can run the minimum adaption quantity after if you like to baseline the pilot injection.

    Hi lad, I have a 141 Passat 1.6tdi when I start it cold there is a misfire and when driving along in 4th gear it starts chugging along the road 212,000km on it, would it be injector or something else ? (There’s no codes on the dash)

    You'll need to read engine ecu in any case. If injector failed electrically it will shoot a code instantly, this doesn't seem to be the case for you. Does it drive OK at times? When warmed up does it idle OK? How is the flywheel? Clutch pulsing under foot? Lots to find out before I'd condem an Injector.

    It idles fine when warm,it drives grand apart from the chugging in 4th,5th and 6th gear. Should I take it to a garage to see if it brings up anything on the computer?, Also sometimes there’s a strong smell of diesel at times.

    Hi, Injecto4 4 is showing high numbers compared to other 3. Its at 4.9mg/str MAX when cold. I noticed a horrible diesel knock only when I'm on a certain road first thing in the morning. It has a load of speed bumps with a gentle incline and when I gently accelerate after the 2nd or 3rd speed bump the knock starts and is continuous until I turn car off and restart and off I go again as gentle as possible. The problem goes away when warm and all injector reading are perfect and all similar. It goes up that same road with speedbump with no probs. Is there a chance the copper seal id defective and just expands when warn to make the desired seal? Or is it injector related AND will the adaptive routine work sort out the issue? I've had injector problems before ( post 2 yrs ago ) and learned a lot form this video and others Any thoughts and help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi can you please help me I change the speed limiters it was at 190 km I was just messing around. I change it to two hundred km so for some reason when I press do it it kept going back to 50km now I have smoke bellowing out of tail pipe and it’s running like a pig and there’s was smoke coming out from under the bonnet I was afraid to look. Can you please help me my head is all messed up i know I did something really bad to the engine have you any ideas please help
