I'm fairly new to this hobby but my understanding is that a short wheelbase gives me maneuverability/tight turn radius and less chance of high centering or belly rubbing but a long wheelbase gives me a better climber with less chance of flipping backwards?

I have built 4 new crawlers for myself since I commented on your video and all of them are gladiator link trucks with shorter lcg chassis. The longer wheel base is the best way to go. I have a couple c10s and they are not stretched and they have nothing compared to the gladiator length trucks. I run brushless furiteks on most of my rigs and I will say that nothing is like a brushless truck with the longer wheelbase.

@@Jellybean_191 yeah there’s 2 female driveshaft pieces with this setup. I plainly called the piece from the stretch kit a female which it is. I plainly called the piece from the axle a male. I also called the piece coming from the transmission with the yoke a female which it is. The female piece with the yoke goes inside the female piece from the stretch kit. Although the section with the yoke is being inserted into the tube from the stretch kit it’s still a hollow tube which makes it a female.

I did this with the jeep rubicon. I bought two suspension kits with the longest arms I could find. I put both of the long arms in the front and back, looks exactly like this. I even put the same tires and wheels, but the wheels I inverted so it has more track width also with the axle shaft extensions. I don’t like the wheel hub extenders they bind. Added with double barrel shocks i was running it on 1/10th scale crawler courses for fun it got over a whole bunch it was very impressive only downside to a build like this is you lose a lot of turning radius without rear steer
