Great video ! The only things I would add as others stated is use gloves when you can since solvents are horrible to absorb into your skin. I also wipe the cup out FIRST. Then spray solvent thru it. And then after reassembling everything ill spray a touch more thru gun until empty. Also NEVER remove or install the nozzle unless the needle is out of the gun. I actually took a narrow soup can and drilled holes in it and use it as a basket to put the parts in and then put that in a glass jar with solvent in it to soak. The gun i put in a Tupperware container that just fits it and after disassembly I soak the gun in solvent for awhile before reassembly.

Have a '79 16 HP Kohler Hydro like this one. Has always been kept inside, paint still shiny after a waxing. Lights still work. Have owner's manual. Owned 24 years. Has mowed a LOT of grass. Had been sitting in building all winter, fired right up and mowed an acre about 2 weeks ago. Very reliable machine.

Your three video series is proving very useful, my engine was given to me in pieces... I don't know if you can help, at 4:25 when you install the middle gear pinion, was there a shim to install between the gear and the bearing's inner race? I see a shim in the parts diagram but it looks like it's going from the other side: between the bearing's outer race and the housing (within the case, where the bearing sits). Thanks!
