I need you guys. I just had a new roof installed on my double wide and now am experiencing respiratory issues. Not sure what happened. I want to replace all of the ductwork to be safe. Can you recommend someone who is as experienced as you in Wellington Florida?
He double checks his work with a Meer!😏👍
This is so educational video.
You'd have to pay me a million dollars to crawl underneath there 😷
That's not the way you insult a mobile home
What does this cost?
How much does it cost
Thank you.
What year is that home? About to close on a 2005 DW. I hope they did a good job sealing all the duct work. I do not want to go under it and start cutting holes in the belly board and chasing ducts for sealing connections.
What does it cost?
Yes sir .Thanks did my share modular hvac service work but Not Much Duct work till now !!! So tks for the all the tips & tricks
Hows those masks they fog up on ya??
Thank you so much for this video. I was getting birds nest on the back of my projects but it was random... it sews great and then jams.. I looked at my bobin case and it looks like every few times the thread is not catching. I am going to try to raise my bobin case plates like you show and see if that works.
I occasionally have that problem when sewing also, but it's hilarious to see this comment about sewing problems on a video about repairing the underbelly of a mobile home!!!
@@playhooky LOL sorry. comment was for another video
@@judilyn48 No you don't need to apologize, I'm sorry - didn't mean to make fun of you - found it funny cause I could easily have made the same mistake of commenting under the wrong video - I tend to keep to many YT windows open on my laptop lol! I bought a 2000 Oakwood single wide mobile home new.the end where the blower was stayed cool and warm but the farther you go to the other end the worst it got. I do heating and air conditioning.i tore out the unit inside and made a nice linen closet.i set a package unit outside and ran all new duct work and cut new vents in the floor under the windows.also but multiple returns in also.now it’s comfortable in all the rooms.

If you buy a new one , get a mobile with standard rated R value and good weather protection from the factory, In Canada some are R 40 floors
Thanks for the comment. I live in Minnesota, and while I can do that heat tape for the incoming, my water will freeze up in the underbelly , leaving frozen water lines to across the house, kitchen, bathroom.
And it's insulated underbelly from the manufacturer!
@@surf6009 a 12 volt heat tracer cord for 50$ , can solve that I had 2 one on either end of the structure.

Great video, but I had to laugh when talking about vapor barrier. I live in the desert and that vapor barrier would last until the next flash flood comes up my drive way and washes it out into my backyard. I'm still trying to figure out how to replace the cheap plastic skirting that blows out every time we get high winds (60+mph winds). What you do would be great for those that live in a mobile home park or on a lot in town, but not out where I live. Thanks for sharing.
Lots of people use blocks instead.
A mobile home should be set up like it's over a basement with no insulation under the floors. Just insulate the skirting and Heat The Underneath. Now you have heated floors and access to all the plumbing if necessary.
I have mobile home 1969 I just bought and middle bedroom has no heat vents? There's no heat in that room. Hard believe no heat in bedroom for 53 years? Could someone have covered vent up over years,?
Maybe not all mobile/manufactured homes are the same? I'm in a 3300 square foot Triplewide with an attached climate controlled two car garage. All of my flex duct supply lines are all suspended from the frame in my crawl space the band anchors are run up through the plastic belly barrier and insulation not through the belly of the trailer like this i have three 16 inch flex trunk lines one down the center that is connected directly to the bottom of my air handler with 10 12 inch crossovers 5 branched off to each side from the center one and all 3 runs are the length of the trailer with 8 inch branches coming off here and there going to the vents through the insulation and belly cover. It was like this from the factory the 8 inch 4x10 supply boots for all the vents were all suspended through the insulation and belly cover waiting for the duct system to be attached it came like that from the manufacturer. Maybe they don't use the belly ducts like they do on double wide trailers as they do in triple wide manufactured homes? My triple wide was actually brought in in 8 different sections that they put together on the site on top of a crawl space that was pre-dug deep enough that you could stand underneath the dwelling instead of crawling around unlike a double or single wide the frame and axles did not remain they picked the sections up off a trailer and set them in place on an 8-ft Pier concrete foundation. with a massive crane but for all intents and purposes it is classified as a mobile/manufactured home. Which is a whole nother ball game that doesn't make sense to me.

Cool video ty
Does the type of skirting make a difference to keep cold air from swirling around under the house?
Yes, greatly.
Close your vents and make sure the skirting is sealed good and you will have no swirling air. And if your floors are cold just insulate the skirting 6 inch thick, get rid of all the insulation under the floor and put a heater under there now you have heated floors. And access to any and all your plumbing that you want to do. And make storage area under there now it's warm and dry.Seal it good from dirt to floor and you won't even have bugs.
@@cynthiaayers7696 the ground can get wet underneath, what cover's it ?
@@daleval2182 Didn't you watch this video? They showed - you can put a layer of heavy vinyl and he says they overlap the pieces by 2 feet.
@@playhookyI did watch the whole video, read the rest of my comments, I'm saying sealing all edges was my point and opinion, as your entitled to yours. Thanks
Why is this not done at the time of manufacture? It doesn't matter where it will delivered to, warm or cold climates. When you insulate it protects the home from any weather to keep the utilites as low as possible.
Lol u think these building companies give a flying shit about your utility bills? Lol less money they have to spend to get a trailer out of there hands and money in there pocket best believe there going to not do it .
@@Join0rDIE1776 True that
Of course there is insulation & a belly board or a vinyl or fabric put on the underside of mobile homes when they are manufactured. This isn't a brand new home, and as time passes, shit happens. Water pipe breaks & you have to cut open the underwrap & take out insulation in that spot to repair the pipe. Rodents, cats, raccoons, etc. get in through a crack or opening in the skirting & tear open the underwrap to get up in there & keep warm - or worse nest.
Mine came with the underbelly insulation. But a problem made in fall away. Think the plumbing out pipe leaked from the kitchen. I had professional business relevel, and they fixed it and good thing, as I live in Minnesota.
Need more videos on this page. Have a good day.
Thank you for the videos.
I'm in Kentucky and I had some plumbing repairs done but the underbelly wasn't repaired. Looking for people to do this because I have cold spots in my home.
I didn't realize all the work, maintenance that should be done underneath a mobilehome to keep everything quality. I love mobilehomes!!!
What kind of block? Wood?
Watch NEVER BUY A CLAYTON MANUFACTURED HOME on KZread and see how these people really treat people
roflll nothing wrong with clayton homes.
Very well done. Thank you for the detailed information.
The previous owner of my mobile home was eligible for weatherization program and they blew the foam in underneath the belly of the mobile home but they did nothing else. That was back in 2018 and would it be too late to put some kind of a belly board up now? There is no one who does mobile homes near me or even the radius of about 50 miles. As much as I like watching these videos I get very frustrated because there's nothing I can do.
How do I find people to do this in the area I live in? What are these techs called?
It is almost impossible for me to find anyone that does mobile home repairs such as this video is showing including windows, doors, skirting... everything. I didn't manage to find an excellent roofer. He had to travel from North Carolina with his crew to do my roof and I'm up in New England.

What's a reason there would be 2 crossover ducts

Great video Chris and the BPC!!
How do I fix the vent is last room..... doesn’t blow real good.... stays cold in bathroom
Excellent question. How long is your home, is it a double wide? Mine is a 28 x 80 and my bedroom and bathroom are the first vents of the unit so it blows GREAT in my rooms but the other end of the house is definitely not great
Best video I’ve seen yet thanks so much!
Ooold video. Overkill on the sealing. Hope your minions moved on to a respectable job or trade. Modular homes suck.
