Bringing the cars, people and stories of South Australia's motorsport scene to the world!
Created by Hayden McMahon & Dylan Sainsbury, The Pit Walk shines a light on the weekend warriors. Normal people, with normal jobs, who build extraordinary cars in their downtime. With a focus on grip based motorsport, most of our videos centre around circuit racing, time attack, hillclimb and track day builds. We dig into the cars, modifications and stories, while allowing the vehicle owner to tell the tale themselves.
Being racers ourselves, we knew there were some fantastic stories, amazing cars and interesting characters hiding in the pits of our local tracks. We created The Pit Walk to give a platform to these amateur racers who may never have got one otherwise. We are proud to show the world what South Australian grassroots motorsport is all about!

Headline: MOFF BUYS BROCK COMMODORE. RACES IT IN EUROPE. AND WINS! Gee, I wonder why ruling class global elitists decimated Australia's successful WORLD CLASS EXPORT AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY? Embarassment & jealousy had nothing to do with it?

Sweet to see a Roffmans VL And Mallala in one film 👍 nice car
Super nice z nice build bro love my zzz
He shouldn’t do the rb25 swap. Honestly as time goes on, I prefer these keeping closer to factory, but with the odd tasteful mod. Engine swap is a no no for me as that takes out the defining feature of the ZR
I've engine-swapped rare cars before and part of me definitely does regret it. It's tricky, but it's 100% up to the owner. RBs are still pretty accessible and affordable here. Should he regret it, there's nothing stopping the owner taking it back to an RB20 down the line if required.
what software did u use to design your wing
It was a while ago, so unfortunately I can't actually remember! The basic design work (I think) was done in blender, then I searched around for CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) programs. From memory, it was a charged CFD program (I wanna say $30 a month or so?) but I haven't done any of that stuff for around 5 years.
Love it!
How do you “ get stuck “ with your ex wife’s performance car 😂 “ I took the c$&t “ more like lmao
for sale also 100k
i own 1 of these in Australia also too 😉
Cool bro 👍
06.03. 2024 found this video, man that so cool you changed the gear box to manual😮 how is this car right now?
Cheers! Currently it’s out of action with rod knock. I’ve got a young family now and fixing it isn’t a huge priority, but we do have some unfinished business with this car!
Amazing mate
Beautiful Version R / S Replica, missing the wheels and sideskirts but that'd be a difficult task since this one's a 2+0, this is in such astonishing condition, congratulations to the owner!
It’s still a beautiful car
Awesome car!! I think you done good!! Great video.
time for a demon 300.
Time to re-mortgage my house! Definitely a dream to crank it up a notch one day!
Love z31s, great cars and under appreciated
This real engine porn
Very impressive
Should try the awd? I feel like it'd be faster on acceleration no slipping, added weight but definitely better grip
100% agree. On this course I believe our chassis would be 2-3 seconds faster with AWD. Being quite heavy and RWD loses us a lot of time both at the start, and leaving the low speed “bus stop” chicane. It’s something we’ve thought about at length, with the easiest solution being the driveline of a late model, 8 speed SRT8 jeep. Just not something we’ve committed to as of yet
@@ThePitWalk true, just watching the footage it seems like you need a lot more acceleration rather then speed
It's a 6.1 right?
@@b3stfilms241 it’s definitely got all the top end that it needs, and runs similar power as the fastest cars at the event. The extra traction would make a huge difference in acceleration and change the car completely. It’s actually 5.7 based, with forged internals, the pro charger, etc, etc.
That control setup is a decent bit of engineering, good on ya Graham, keep it up mate
He built the car that’s in my profile pic it was green but it’s been painted since
Love a tuff small block showing up the Turbo 6s
Barra in a rare monaro, idk how I feel about that, but yeah pretty unique so cool
Who said you needed a RB25 or 2JZ, get a fricking Barra yewwww What a soldier even in a Wheelchair he doesn't give up absolute legend
100% agree! The Ford 6 is just as capable as any other engine for a track car. It’s great to see them starting to show up more at drift comps and track days.
My first car was a eb
Mine was an AU. Gotta love the p plate spec falcons of yesteryear
@@ThePitWalk i still drive a au its 2000 futura with xr6 body kit apart from the headlights they still standard lowerd on 17s and sport exhaust my daily
@@Psych0Matt93 AUs are great cars, still a perfect daily for sure. Would love to get another one some day
I drive a 86 as well. How do you rate the Kenda KR20A?
I got these tyres second hand and they were already a bit old, but I found them to be ok. I’ve used Nangkang NS2Rs and the Kendas were similar. Decent, cheap semis but would probably be out performed by a really top quality road tyre.
Probably one of the small crowd who had an 86 previously and now have a Challenger SRT 6 Speed. Car is such a riot and crowd pleaser. Fits in wherever you go, everyone likes it. (except mustang owners... lol)
Gotta love a V8 with a manual gearbox. Always a whole lot of fun!
good job mate
What a mad @#$%! 🇦🇺
I love Australia, the only place in the world where that is the highest level of compliment!
I hope you keep doing what you are doing with the content you are making. It'll take a bit to get a following but keep going like this soon enough your name will get out more.
Thankyou mate, very much appreciated! We have plans to film a few more over the next couple weeks. Hoping to capture some really unique cars and stories! :)
Hell yeah mate, I really want to do stuff like this myself, just don't have the equipment. lmao
@@rythascorpadorp2802 it’s a whole lotta fun to film and it’s been great to meet such awesome people in the process. When I started it was just a DSLR & a tripod, and with a half decent mic it’s enough to get the job done. My photographer mate Dylan got involved and things scaled up real quick on the technology front. It makes a huge difference to the polish level and I’m very grateful he’s brought his skills and kick ass equipment on board :)
Hats off to him!
Up the EB!! Good on ya mate. Hell of a lot of lemonade made, keep it up!
This seriously needs more views, unbelievable determination!
Graeme is a true inspiration, absolutely no doubt about it!
Awesome vid, how'd you guys get the manual transmission to work?
Being from a car with the same engine, the bell housing bolts straight up. The tail shaft needed to be shortened, the tunnel massaged, the steering column rerouted around the starter motor and the ECU tuned. That’s about it really :)
@@ThePitWalk was there any difficulty getting it tuned? The few I seen have had ECU issues
@@segwaysegway2869 we didn’t have any major issues with the stock ecu, the tuner sorted it all out for us. In the end we moved to a standalone aftermarket ECU (Link G4) when we supercharged it.
Beautiful car
That's awesome man
I have been out drifting at the same time as this bloke. Always wondered how his car worked and never had the chance to look.
Awesome build mate. I’ve also done similar in Australia with being manual originally. Now is lsx turbo , th400 and 4 linked 300c #LLOOSE . Hats off to you mate these cars are hard to build 💪🏽
How much does it weigh?
Around 1720KG (3790pound) mate
@@ThePitWalk wow you shaved alot of weight love the build mine weighed in at 4700lbs with me in it and half a tank of gas but it's a full weight street car
Yea we managed to cut quite a bit out. It’s still pretty heavy for its job, and we have some ideas to cut weight further, but it’s ok for now
@@ThePitWalk what is the cage made out of?
@@blakebooth1982 Chromoly Tubing mate. Very strong and relatively light type of composite steel.
Fantastic to see a 300 out on the track! Bugger about the engine blowup tho. Have you thought about bringing her to Chryslers on the Murray, in Albury Vic?? I took my black 07 5.7 300C there last year and it was AWESOME! They also do a track day on the Friday. Keep up the great work.
Keep up the good work 👌 You ought to enjoy my friends videos too --> #IroncladMotorsport 🚦
Whats the point in the built motor. Even the NA motors can be pushed to 500whp with ease with the gas and turbo motors going up to 650-700rwhp
Keep in mind this is a track car, which experience huge load, and is still in development. This was only its second track day. I can’t speak for the owner, but It’s very possible that the current power output is just a safe shakedown figure.
Ready for even more power down the line
Just found your channel. Good luck in the future. Im slowly turning my magnum RT into a road course/auto cross car and cant wait to do some racing but pretty much every event near me has been cancelled this year.
MrMoparWagon hi mate, glad to see ya here! Yea, we’re in the same boat. Corona has really done a number on everything fun. Looking forward to seeing how ya get on, it’s a heavy platform but definitely has potential!
i need a manual transmission in my 300c srt8 !!!!!! its not 540 hp 1 Kw = 1.341 hp 293.4 Kw = 393.45 hp
Apologies for not seeing this comment earlier. You are correct, 393.45 BHP at the rear wheels. When filming this I used the term “as a manufacturer would measure it.” Which is at the flywheel. Obviously I must’ve used a pretty high estimate for parasitic loss when filming. More realistically it was probably making somewhere around 450BHP at the flywheel at the time. It is now however pro charged, and making over 520RWKW. Which is around 700 HP at the wheels. Which depending on calculation for drivetrain loss, would realistically be somewhere around 770 HP as “a manufacturer would measure it”. I do apologise for the overestimate at the time, not sure what formula I’d used for that haha.
@@ThePitWalk dont be sorry bro. i forgot about this comment lol and thanks for going through and explaining it all great car.. love it
Love it hope to see it back out one day .doing a suptble time attack look on my 13 srt8 but your superbird looks massively impressive
