Hi! Continue with what you are doing! I know the struggle is real, I removed wall to wall carpet from my living room, dining room, stairs and hallway. I had to sand the floors and do a few more steps before applying polyurethane. DIY queen here!! Always remember, the harder the battle, the sweeter the victory .

Thank you!!! And you should definitely try it - that entire combination was so good. We had other food that night, but I stuffed myself with chips and caviar! I will say it's pricey - but for the Olympics, it was worth the splurge!

Jessica...you are amazing-from the conception, to the process, through the issues to be solved. First of all, the wall paper is gorgeous and the trim is perfect! Painting the trim on the door will completely finish it with elegance. I'm glad you took time out for the opening ceremonies...you all needed a break with great snacks and great entertainment. BTW, you looked beautiful for that...your skin looks amazing! I'm looking forward to next week. I hope it lives up to your dream (I'm sure it will!) 😁
Thank you!!! I really appreciate that. It's fun seeing it all come together, and even though I'm still second-guessing myself at every step - I just need to trust the process and my vision. I said to Mark on Friday morning, the most important thing I do today is watch the opening ceremonies, so I have a hard stop at 7! Lol!!!! It was really fun enjoying taking a step away from the project for a bit!

Great lunch breaks and yes I watched the opening night of the Olympics, super great and Celine Dion was outstanding. I know we all want to get to the final reveal - and trust me, no one wants that more than me - but these things take time (as I'm telling myself, and talking myself off the ledge, lol!). It's going to be awesome - I can't wait to start loading in the finishing touches!

Hello Hello Jess & Mark , as always you are a true inspiration of not giving up , it is really looking good already I love the wall paper ❤ when you were trying to figure out the corner pieces in my head all I could hear is all the times you’ve said if I can see it , I can achieve it so I had absolutely no doubt you would figure it out and that it would be amazingly beautiful 😍 and that’s a real flex ❤ do you remember when you were doing the mantle you had some special sanding tool for the hard to get grooves on the mantle . you should always always be extremely proud of yourself you Rock ❤❤ can’t wait to see the final reveal !!!
Ahhhhhh you always know the right things to say. You are absolutely right and thank you for reminding me of that. It's so true - if I can't see it in my head, then I can't make it happen. But once I do - watch out now, lol!!! And oh my goodness - the mantle. Talk about a project taking forever! Why are the "smallest" projects always the ones that are the biggest pain in my you know what? It's funny to think that I actually thought this entire project would take 2 weeks tops. Hahahaha - oh Jessica...... Thanks again love!

Sooooo much work and time - and our bodies are feeling it, lol!!! But I know every second that we've put into this space will be worth it in hopefully just a few more days. And thank you for the compliment about my family - they're the best and I just love being able to spend quality time with them. It doesn't happen often, so when we get to, I like to completely unplug.
Guuuurl.... You guys did it! There is NOTHING like finishing a project that tests the metal of your patience, sanity, and relationship.. ( cause we who have been there know) lol! When it is finished and you know for sure you partner with the right one to get things done in life. You have to be proud of yourself for going for it. Every time you enter that room you will be reminded of the mental emotional and physical strength that culminated in beauty. ❣️ BRAVO! Thank you for sharing.
You nailed it!!!! This project has tested every single bit of patience I have - but I just know if we keep pushing for a few more days, we can finally sit back and say WE DID THAT!!!! Oh how I'm waiting for that moment - but until then, we keep moving. I really am proud of us building this room from scratch. It already looks so good and just wait until next week!!!

I love hearing that!!! I've only used wallpaper one other time before, and I knew that I wanted to incorporate it somehow in this house. So far I love how it looks and I can think it will only look better once I start to decorate! We'll seeeee.....lol!

And I love that about you, lol!!!! I'm trying my hardest to get to the final reveal, but real life is not allowing me to be great at the moment! It's a journey for sure. But we're working hard and have hung most of the boards up today. We're now at another standstill until the sink is delivered as I'm not sure how to fit the boards in the space without it - but as soon as it arrives, which should be Wednesday, we will (should) be good to go!

What can I say? Yet again, Jessica is doing her thang! The wall paper is so pretty it looks yummy. I have no words to describe it, except it is breathtaking. The wall is so pretty. I would have probably carried it up to the ceiling simply because I don't want to stop looking at it in that space. I was in a ball of knots watching you figure out the placement under the window but I can finally exhale. It looks perfect. Talking about creating memories; I'm sure that you and Mark will never forget this project. LOL
Oh we will never forget this project - or any of them, lol!!!! It seems like every project there is an issue that we have to figure out - but somehow we make it work. I can say each project we get better and better, and every time we learn a new skill. About the potential trim under the window - I was like how did I not think of this? I always feel like I've thought of everything - but constantly I'm reminded that I don't. This was one of those times - but I think not adding trim under the window makes most sense. Also, I found some trim that I really love and think that it will finish off the wood nicely. Completely different than what I was originally thinking. Eeeek - I can't wait for the reveal!!!

Awwww thank you for saying that! It's really coming together and just today we put up even more boards and are now looking at stain options. I pray this time next week we'll be kicking back with our feet up, high-fiving because the space is finally finished!

I’m not sure if it was open yet when you were there, but they have a second location that is open on weekends now called The Annex. It’s worth a look, too.

I've been in NC for 3 years now, still adjusting and starting to feel a little settled. I'm so glad I found your channel. My boss recommended I visit Duke Gardens over a year ago. I have yet to visit, but I will plan to do so once this weather breaks!

It was such a surprise and like I said in the video, it makes you feel like you were transported to another country. I plan to go back once it cools down a bit. Hi Jessica I’m in tears as I write this but I came across your channel a few sleepless nights ago and I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. Just now I realized why I was led here. My beloved beautiful amazing aunt passed away in her sleep in May. She was only 62. And she meant the world to me. Similar to your aunt she was all about living life to the fullest and positivity. I feel like this video is her reminder to me to live my best happy life as much as possible. I definitely wish that I had more time with her. Thank you.
This means so much to me - and this is exactly why I create these videos each week. First of all, welcome to the channel! I'm so happy that you found me and that you resonated with my content. Losing my Aunt has been one of the hardest most profound events of my life. She is the reason why am who I am, and why I decided to create on KZread. I used to be scared of everything. I used to limit myself and always waited for the perfect moment to do (fill in the blank). After she passed I decided I was going to start living right then and was going to live a limitless life. I'm doing things now I never thought I could or would. I'm traveling the world, I'm facing all sorts of fears, I've allowed myself to love and be loved, and while I would do anything to have her back, I appreciate the lesson she provided as a result of her passing and that is to LIVE LIFE NOW. I'm so happy that this video was shown to you at the time you needed a little reminder. That means more to me than anything really. Sure likes and subscribes are great, but feeling a connection with someone on the other side of the screens means absolutely everything to me.
