Greetings from Texas! I'm Damian and YES that is a caricature of me with a mohawk which I rocked for some years.
I've been selling online since 2009 and got serious in 2015 when I made a life altering decision and decided to work for myself after a very long and rewarding, but also exhausting career in retail.
While working retail all those years, I learned that even earning good money working for someone else means nothing if you don't have the freedom to choose what to do with your time.
I have become a 6-figure seller between Amazon and eBay by failing miserably many times. My mistakes have taught me how to turn a profit by employing strategies such as retail arbitrage, wholesale, foreign imports, auctions and many others.
My goal is to provide videos that give viable solutions to all sorts of problems in this business. I hope to get you to your goals, whatever they may be. Or, at the very least, I hope these videos are entertaining.

Damian, I'm new and just sent my first sale. Can you please talk about the following on your show?: Ebay says Ground takes 2-5 business days but I mailed the package out July 29 and the person isn't receiving it until August 11. I had already paid the shipping and felt really bad for the customer. This is from PA to Virginia only. I noticed someone on eBay only ships Priority and I think I should do the same now. Thank You.
The best explanation is, shit happens. Sometimes your shipment a get delayed. It happens to every business, but just because it happens to one customer or even a couple of customers doesn’t mean you should change your entire strategy and take a big hit on your margins. Keep using ground advantage because it’s way cheaper and remember that shipping is out of your control once it leaves your storage. Just deal and keep making sales. I have really nice hands. seriously, i get compliments on my hands so I totally use my hands in my photos when necessary. I sell a lot of vintage jewelry so I make sure I get my nails done when I need to take a lot of photos of jewelry and i'm pretty sure it helps to see the rings worn on pretty hands. Im just saying! lol

And honestly, Ive considered modeling the women's clothing I sell, I know that would help a ton, even though that would be extra work. Just something on my radar. But for now I use a dress form or my photo station area.
Hi Damien. Thanks for encouraging me to take less pictures! Sometimes I wonder if people even actually look at the photos or read the description based on the questions i get from potential buyers. While I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with you about shooting pictures in a clean, uncluttered background, I have seen MANY instances where people are posting garbage photos with all kind of crap in the background, photos in the car, straight from the yardsale or thrift and Im seeing feet and crotch shots and people are still buying the items. I've seen clothing on dirty bathroom floors, in rooms that look like they are out of the hoarders show, and the items are still selling. Please make this make sense for me. It's so frustrating especially when I take great care to take great photos. The items aren't even that great. Price isnt that great, what is it?
It is necessity. What happens is that some people have to have that product and they can't care about what the listing looks like. They just need it. So they forgo the nice pictures and buy whatever. In any case, I know that some people might see that and think, if they are shooting shit pictures and getting sales, why don't I just do the same? Never, ever do that. Always strive for more. Haha, I need to get white gloves. I never use my fingers because well, I'm a gardener and my nails always have dirt under them. I'd clean them but they'd be dirty again within the hour. But seriously I've considered white gloves if nothing more than to eliminate fingerprints all over shiny items. I'm always using cloths to wipe and handle as I'm photographing. Gloves would be easier.

🔴 *6pm outdoor lighting is best* *MAKE SURE the colors in the camera photo same as item in front of you. Lowlife tweeker Poshmark vendor sent me pink shirt as old as bottom of goodwill trash bin bedsheets. I was pissed, the image was nothing like I received. And when I called out the vendor for* *misrepresentation she had the nerve to show her claws. Huge fight back n forth, I won Pissmark refunded me but still paid her. Another wallet was waay worn than image. Never again with that slimy Poshmark*

i recently sold a few items that had little competition and high demand. no need to promote in that scenario. the minute we sell one item we are considered a Sole Proprietor in the eyes of the taxman. eBay requires a SS # to open an account. Applying for an EIN # isnt absolutely necessary for a Sole Proprietor but it does have its advantages if your selling at a high level of income and need to file quarterly taxes, are looking to incorporate , hire employees , operate as a partnership , establish a business name, purchase wholesale tax free. As a sole proprietor we have the same opportunity to deduct expenses to calculate the correct GOGS and take advantage of all tax deductions allowed. Calculated shipping works great for anything over 6lbs ! with the discount + handling fee. Shipping is probably the most difficult thing to learn for most new sellers especially if your planning to sell anything and everything ! And bookkeeping ! catching up on six months of books was not fun ! lol..!

I can’t wait to tell you my weekend win! I bought a huge closet full of women’s clothes….16 racks full, many NWT, for $18! It was the end of an estate sale auction. The auctioneer was tired. We have to take a trailer to pick it all up! Also got 2 BOSE Wave III systems, 1 BOSE Wave IV, and 2 BOSE multi CD changers!!!

I love your channel. I would like to hear your ideas of resourcing for reselling. I sell mostly clothes, but Goodwill and the bins are not always great. Are there some places that sell bundles of clothes that are decent/brand names. Stupid question, but you might have better ideas.
That’s actually not a stupid question. Many people want to know. You can buy clothing in bulk for sure, but it’s always a gamble. Cost is Texas is about $500 for 100 lbs. I was discouraged-- not because I lost money and only made 50 cents 😂on my sale (was a bad buy) but because I couldn't believe how much shipping costs! Do you ship globally on your own or with the Ebay international shipping program? Just yesterday I had someone in the UK buy a tie and balk at the shipping cost. It has been a few years since I shipped international on my own, and maybe it has changed. I tried to send it on my own with Ebay standard international, but the package is shipping to Illinois first, so I'm not sure that the person won't be charged more money.
