There’s all these people from California saying they’re moving to Franklin, doesn’t sound like any place I would want to move to now. You people destroy every place you go… We need to look no further than Austin Texas for proof of that… Don’t California our Tennessee. That goes double for you New Yorkers….

Can you do a video on retired people that want to move into the Nashville area, that can spend a decent amount of money on rent? With maybe two car garages? Both homes and townhomes… with amenities. Thanks.

If you don't mind overcrowding, you will be OK with Mt. Juliet. The year I moved to Mt Juliet was 1974 as a small child. Mount Juliet, just like many other areas in the southeastern United States, has been ruined by overcrowding. Some of the projects approved by the commissioners make no sense at all; I am convinced there are serious kickbacks being paid to the commissioners from these out-of-state "developers". The mass political migration of blue state refugees into the southeastern United States is literally destroying places like Mount Juliet. One of my goals before I die is to escape Mount Juliet and move to a place that's like Mt. Juliet was 50 years ago.

They gutted our nature areas for apartments and town homes. The roads are now absolutely congested. There is nothing to do here expect drive 45 minuets to other things. If you want to work, we are the warehouse capital of the south, hosting 3-4 Amazon fulfillment centers. Houses and land are impossible to buy for locals. Taxes going up. Need a Sam's, Costco, or BJ's...but they gave it to Mt. Juliet instead. This quiet little town is no longer.

Strange you would say access to the Harpeth is a selling point; I wouldn't want to be near it since it floods. Also, commuting into Nashville will NOT be 30 minutes; it's 30 minutes with no traffic.

When I moved to Franklin in 2007, Nolensville was just "up and coming" and where families seemed to flock to be in Williamson County schools when Brentwood and Franklin were significantly more expensive. We moved to Nolensville in 2015 and it's changed a ton even since then - definitely no longer poor man's Brentwood! But It's retained the charming small town feel, continues to attract non-chain options, still has the "countryesque" topography and beauty while still feeling like you're far away but really being super close to everything. Also a plus that we're equidistant between but still close to 24 and 65. Thanks for the great content!

Question for anyone familiar with the area... I'm relocating due to work from VA. I'm not finding much as far as rentals in Lebanon. Is Antioch realistic to commute daily to Lebanon? Google maps says 27-30mins, but I know from areas in VA what looks like 30mins on a map can be much longer. What about la vergne?

Nashville isn’t the only place in Tennessee. The TRI CITIES AREA is mountainous, full of lakes, soft and beautiful, less congestion. Nashville is a flat terrain , tornadoes do happen, the vegetation is a bit rough. Stiffer lawn vegetation grasses, trees , flat , hot, humid. Higher costs. The down side of the Tri Cities and Southwest Virginia, is very very, poor healthcare and hospitals. For whatever reason, litter and trashy homes are becoming a problem in all of Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. If you can’t afford living in HOA subdivisions estates, then be prepared to have to live around and look at trashy neighbors homes littered with junk and trash. It’s literally happening everywhere. Like a disease. People don’t take pride in how they live anymore. It’s really sad and frustrating that people don’t appreciate the natural beauty of the environment that they are blessed to live in and be more conscious about trash and junk and how horrible it is and looks and downplays their communities. State officials and local governments don’t seem interested in doing anything about this problem either. Clean living laws are definitely not being enforced. Especially in South West Virginia. Many backroads are horribly littered with trash. Tennessee and Southwest Virginia Trash is Definitely BACK.

We love the Nashville area and have a second home in Laurelbrooke which we bought in 2011. Almost sold it a few years ago( glad we kept it) but love the area too much even though our primary is in Florida. Property tax in Williamson county is so affordable especially when compared to Palm Beach County, FL. Our property tax in TN is only14k for a home assessed over 2m while we pay over 6-figures for a homestead property in Jupiter, FL our insurance has gone ballistic but the destruction is on all condos which in many case has tripled or been cancelled.
