Gras measurements are just enough overtime also not a lot of musical info either way in those very high frequencies most of that is the ambience of the headphone. That's what ppl have tell me really.

I half agree with you. We should stop using diffuse field. But also other targets. Everyone have different ear shapes. It affects how we understanding the sound coming from iem. I think personalized EQ is the best solution. Not the personalized EQ on those TWS. Instead put a in ear microphone in ear playing sound at different frequency. And calibrate our own target. iem should be as flat as possible. Even further we can use virtualization. Based on previous HRTF result. This is important to make iem have correct imaging for some people. I have special ear shape compare to most of people. When I was wearing iem. Front channel always sounds like above me. This is how I solved it. But everything I said above is in very early stage of industrial standard. We haven't find a way to create personalized EQ to most of people. Apple and Sony have come up with scan ear with camera. It's not terrible. But I can never say it's good. And object based audio standard is kinda mess. And all of them have a lot of cons. Like super performance intensive or huge compressor effect. And none of them allow normal user use their own HRTF.

Wait are you really that dumb??? If you really think you can just EQ a pair of headphones/iem to match others and then review them like that you have a very very smooth brain lmao. Just because you eq it the same does not mean the drivers handle it the same. They are still two totally different headphones/iem with totally different divers, tuned differently, different shell designs...etc they will obviously still sound totally different not to mention some drivers don't like to be EQed too far outside of manufactured tuning and it can mess with the audio quality.

Even Macbook M1, I felt very wide soundstage just from the speakers. Don't know much about frequencies, but midrange is very clean, and trouble is sometimes feels like it passes through touching your ears.

I'm sorry but can I please take this further... I don't like HIFIMAN AT ALL.. I'm unsure if it's planar drivers because I've only owned Hifiman.. but I've owned HE500 (8 years ago) HE400 SE and Ananda Nano and ALL of them are COLD, LIFELESS and the only 1 of these 3 that very RARELY has a wow factor is the Ananda Nano in the sub bass once I EQ that up, and for some recordings the soundstage.. But overall, regardless of capability, I just cannot have fun most of the time with any of these Hifiman cans... It's crazy to me, because I've always heard people say that "planars do things for mids that dynamics just can't" and yet I prefer the mids on every dynamic driver I own to every planar I own.. I prefer mids on my 125$ SR80X to the mids on my Ananda Nanos.. the mids on these Hifiman headphones are just too smooth, which sounds like a positive on a high level, but, it's like.. a CONTRIVED and ARTIFICIAL smoothness, sucking the life out of particularly the high mids.. I just can't with Hifiman anymore, not buying anything else. I think I will try some more dynamics I've still not heard first, then eventually try a planar from Audeze.
