Connect with a Cloudburst Pedal from Stryman ?
Hi Azar. Thanks for sharing your opinion.I recently purchased mininova,so we will see... Regarding "metallic sound"-any chance to smooth alittle sound by using some external filters-eg.amplifier eq or kind of pedal effect between mininova and the amp? I know-its not the point-its different kind problem, but maybe this would alittle help?? Let me know what do you think?Cheers!
Nice. How has it been after these years? Positives and negatives please ? Thanks.
People complaining about the sound of a synth just talking about it...shocking... Next time you would be great showing us some patches you have design instead of talking about them.
I completely agree with your point. It sounds like the sound is going through a plate reverb or something, all the time. Or like the DSP of a metal tube or container. And it's very annoying. I've also got the Microkorg S and XL+ and the Alesis Micron, and like you said, they sound much warmer in every patch.
the Big filter knob is perfect on dark stages playing this synth live
Did you say that you got one of these for 400 or 500 dollars? Where did you find one for that price?...SBN RESONATE
It was second hand , but that still was an utter bargain. These FA`s have gone up in price here in UK and sell for around £1,400 ($1800 )in places now. Even second hand they are around £1.000 . The reason I think is because they don't make them anymore.
Agree... I have the same feelings about this synth.
Poland respects your art ;D more that shiiiiiit !
Ⓜ️My Friend i totally agree with you, I had the same experience with my Mininova. At one point i tried the VTL001 sound bank made by the synthcloud guys. It is precisely workout 128 pieces amazing patch bank! Definitely worth it, you will be surprised how your Mininova can sounds! I had same a case with my Novation X-station too. Factory patches was boring and flat, not shown that instrument real power. Upgraded with the Jamiroquai patch bank that synth turned to a real beast too!
This is a synthesizer, remember that. Presets will be factory tuned & it's totally up to you to sculpt them in ways that you like. Can't expect all of the real work to be done by someone else..
@@ASAPJermz Well said. Like mostly people, I'm not much of a sound designer. And I didnt read the manuals at I wanted to tinker around with sounds until I come up with a masterpiece. That's the lazy way of figuring things out.... And usually ends in poor results. If the presets aren't awesome straight out the box, most folks get discouraged and start bashing the synth. I to have the mininova and at one point I wanted to resale it. But I've taken time and learned some thangs. Now I'm happy that I bought it.
Thanks a lot for the patch info I just got mine
liar
😂🖕🏼
The presets sound kinda hard and metallic but you can edit that out. I have heard warmer sounds coming out of it. I got My one used so I dont have the plugin and I think its needed as doing edits on the built in screen is a bit of work. I have contacted Novation and asked them to give Me the plugin download code.
I wish you would play the keyboard so I could hear it and see how it works. I just picked one up for 150 bucks. Waiting for it to ship.
I love mine
..thanks for the statement.......i´ll take the Korg....maybe..
Loving my Live 2 with 2.9 Drum Synth 🚀🚀🔥🔥💯
Wuss good homie can I get a tutorial video with you using the mpc to sequence and the fa 06 to sample would really appreciate it 👍
Creat your own sound, and you'll hear warm sounds, there are. Presets only are metalizer because this is a analog modelise synth. Or take FM synth one, there this is hot warm
What software is used to edit the synths??
If you know how to use this incorporated with a DAW its a beast...
I have one and initially loved it but the one thing that really got to me is that AWFUL spongey keyboard. I got it partly for what it can do as a self contained synth ...with a vocoder and mic! But I also wanted to use it as my main controller ...but that spongeyness is just intolerable.
Thank you
thank you for your informations about your experience with the mpc :)
Very nice, I’m digging it
Presets are like templates. I wouldn't want to use the same template as the next person anyway.
Not analogue, not that it matters.
i had the same impression! It always had this touch of metallic-sound to me... I think a big part of it is because of the reverb-effect sounding really cheap and metallic - but nevertheless i still had this taste that most patches have the same metallicness to it. My conclusion was, that it was never designed for those kind of sounds. The Pads, Leads/Syncs, Stacks, Arpeggiators sound fantastic. Everything that needs this digital 80s-Vibe or some clean Dancy-Sounds. But it cant sound warm or "fat". Thats the other issue i had. I can tweak how much i want - i never got a good fat Bass-Sound out of it. It mostly gets kind of washed out in the lower octaves. I thinks it's just not designed for that sound so they dont interfere with the BassStation 2. Btw the BassStation 2 sounds incredible! Its exactly this warm-analouge-subtractive sound that i missed on the MiniNova.
Dam
This was exactly what i was looking for, thanks. Just one thing does the sampler pas of FA-06 has a pitch bending option.I was thinking about buying one as my first sampler and keep it later on as a synth.
Majorcool
Hi any body pl guide those who hav this particular model, which afdordable speakers I need to buy for this within 70 dollar range ? And how do I get the sounds to play on keyboard frm pc?
CTRLR Panels is free software that cost 0€. If you get the Micron / Miniac Panel, than editing becomes easy on screen. The Micron is still a very good, punchy little beast and prices are really low these days. (100-175€) GET ONE ! ctrlr.org/panels/
AND DO YOU THINKS FOR A 80 SOUND LIKE Depeche Mode IS THE MINONOVA BETTER IN YOUR OPINION LIKE THE MICROKORG S ??
MANY TRHANK...DO YOU THINK IS BETTER THAN TO BUY A JU06A OR BETTER TO WAIT A LITTLE BIT AN BUY THAN A ROLAND Jupiter XM....
Thanks for sharing your experience with this instrument. I like metalic sounds!
i will get it, and as i understand one must use the Midi via an interface to load sysex, i have an interface, so i would be ok, thanks for the intro to this synth, i am looking forward to it, Levi
It’s all in your head. I have no problem getting fat thick warm sounds.
I've been asking many people this simple question, but they seem to answer to technical, maybe you or anyone in the comments can give an easy answer. What is the difference between audio tracks and sampling? Like if I want to record snapping my finger through a mic, is that sampling or an audio track? I can't understand the difference or what an audio track really is, it sounds the same as sampling to me. Please help me understand this because I heard that there is an audio track issue and limitation with muting or something, that can't do certain things that it should be able to. Thanks anybody.
This deserved way more attention. Well done.
I agree the presets a lot of them are more "metalic" which is just the style of the presets. You can make it sound as warm as you want but you have to adjust it.
Yeah I found that, dude. I was new to synths so I had to spend some time with the manual but it paid off. In fact, it was part of the fun!
it can sound literally however you want lmfao. Use the big instruction book that came with it, for real. I doubted it at first, but it took a bunch of time, read through the book, and messed around with the connected software, and its really surprisingly easy to make a beautiful (or ugly, harsh, warm, cold, whatever you want) patch to exactly as you conceptualize it. I think its a pretty remarkably powerful standalone synth engine for its form factor, but sitting down, doing your work, and making an effort to understand how the system works truly lets you make some wonderful things.
this is exactly what I did - I wasn't a fan of the sounds that the mininova came with, so started to read the manual and learn about how to program the synth, and this has helped me create lots of great warm and beautiful new patches. I think it's possible, but requires quite a lot of study.
@@DMAF that's what it's all about my man. Got to speak its language before you can ask it what to do.
Mpc workflow is the best way for hardware workflow in my opinion. I had an akai xr 20 and the workflow is amazing. Anything I can do to make beats without a computer, I am more than great. I cannot wait to get one of these. This thing is absolutely crazy.
The fillings in my teeth are metallic. They work fine. Mininova is fine with me
Hello! I am undecided between ds61 and fa 06. What can you tell me?
I had one of these in 2009. I was a newbie and did not like the menu diving & traded it away. I must be crazy but I am jonesing to get it again!
but i can understand that menu diving thing. i sold it also but i still miss the sound of it. after a while i had the chance to get a ion the big brother with nobs and everything but to be honest i did not like it at al to programm i did not get warm with it and sold it again and all the ions and microns hat a issue with the volume knob... but the sound and its capability is great. i would wish they would bring out one with the same engine but a litte bit better knob controll but in the same form factor as the micron :-)
I love my micron. I use it with the MPC Live all the time too
can i use the vocoder from the mininova to record on mpc live?
category: comedy wtf??
How to liad 2500 mpc files in mpc live?
It’s crazy now with the new update of Auto Sampler
Thanks for the inspiration on getting this machine - I too found that logic is not punchy enough to present great beats. So I’ll save my pennies and get this. Thanks bro👍🏾
how do you feel about this synth vs the jdxi ?
