Love this. Representation matters SO much. We are a non-Muslim family, but I think it's so important, like you said, to encourage acceptance and awareness of other cultures and religions. We have The Proudest Blue book; I believe she has a new book too The Kindest Red, which I'd love to get. My children are mixed-heritage Nigerian-English and books are so important for us in nurturing this and allowing our children to see themselves 💚

The west (i.e. US, Europe) really, really, *really* tries hard to make everyone believe that hijab/Islamic coverage is "oppressive." As a convert, there is absolutely NOTHING more empowering than giving people only ONE option: to judge you based on your character, your actions, and how you treat yourself and others and removing the ability for others to judge your weight, what you are wearing etc. Islam = the true women's power. Alhamdulillah.

  • @PrayersandCrayons

Alhamdulilah! Becoming Muslim has been the most empowering thing for me in my life in every aspect. I’ve also never been more confident as a woman. Its so hard to be modest in todays time. They mostly do this because sex sells and the more sexualized people are the more they will benefit. There is so much to say about this but I am so grateful for being a Muslim woman.

I grew up never showing knees and now I don’t even the ankle, but I also had a rebellious stage when I was in High school. But now, I can see how it has impacted my family in a positive way.

yeah exactly ,..that's why I found secular or light religious curriculum okay for us a family...The good and the beautiful is really good, its open and go , and I found them leaning toward ethics which is amazing for us so we use it and we like it in our home ..we pick stories and books for islamic studies different ..yup as you said I found it better to be eclectic in terms of curriculum. It works better :) Loved your video :)keep it up sis.

Oh, I love the music! I did not know you were an author! I am excited to check out your work. My son is the same with having an excellent memory. Handwriting is our nemesis (dysgraphia, Developmental Coordination Disorder/Dyspraxia). Our OT has worked with him since he was 3. We have several varieties of therapy putty in our home and LEGOS are still a favorite. We used the Facts That Stick series (recommended by The Well Trained Mind) - they were an excellent resource! Wonderful suggestions. Great video!
