You sounded pretty similar overall to me on all these, and I have to wonder if any slight variations are just due to you not being fully acclimated to playing all these, if anyone can be fully acclimated to playing multiple different mouthpieces at the same time. If any of these mouthpieces make you work harder to get what you want after you have been able to spend some time with each of them, that would be a strong indication, though there are of course differences between players too. It doesn't surprise me that the BD7 takes more control, since it is more open and longer than the others. Does that mouthpiece have some advantages, however, if the player is willing to put in the extra work to control it? As far as tuning, are you referring to an overall pitch difference, a difference in the scale (spacing between the pitches), or both?

Hey so I don't usually reply to these sorts of comments, but I just want to be straight up and say that while I'm not a total expert with mic placement etc, I will say that I did not deliberately attempt to alter my voice or playing to favor one interface over another-apologies if it came across that way. I will 100% say based on my experience, the Audiofuse does have more gain than the Audient esp. with the 10 db boost feature. Not trying to shill a product specifically, the Audient is great and people will inevitably prefer it (the price is better too), but that's just what I noticed while making this video.

@@EddieSundraMusic It's just so weird you have the only two units that are in the same market and you have "the" mic that needs the most posible gain needed, you are not a youtuber or a podcaster, why do you need a sm7 for? I know that the audient has less noise ratio than the arturia because I try them both before buying, you don't need to turn the gain so much because in digital -12 db is the limit. The line out sounds better at the end because headroom is very important, otherwise, how do you mix? Wow, that difference going from the M-Audio to the AudioFuse and ID44 is impressive on your voice. I think that with the soprano clarinet, the mic is the bottleneck preventing much of a difference from being as noticeable. I heard a difference with the bass clarinet. The Audiofuse is higher fidelity. I'm definitely getting an Audiofuse later. Lovely bass clarinet tone, bro. I don't like it when players go for a honky-tonk sax-like tone, not like you. A bass clarinet is at its ugliest when played like a sax, I say. I love bass. I would enjoy having more time to pick up bass clarinet again. I had more time when I was unemployed a few years ago, and I picked up a nice Bb soprano to start practicing clarinet again. I wanted to score a good deal on a bass in need of minor servicing, to fix myself and save money. Never got around to it after rejoining the workforce, and I had stop playing clarinet, it's not a priority for me. Oh well. The mic is so good that I can hear the air leaks through your embouchure very clearly ;) hahaha Thanks for the demo.

Reading the comments and finding it interesting that I have a different opinion than everyone else. I rank them BD5, BD4, BD7, B40L. Pretty sure the reed should be a half step softer for the BD7 and B40L so it wasn't a true comparison for a player's choice. I think it would be impossible to call if the right strength reeds were used. They all sound pretty decent in the recording.
