This is the world premier of Eddie Sundra's original composition "Glass Dances" for two clarinets, performed by PSU music students Beth Clearwater and Eddie Sundra. It was recorded on May 1, 2011 in some random PSU school of music building.
The composition itself is designed to have the intensity and energy of an allegro Shostakovich movement, with the rhythmic repetition similar to works by Philip Glass (hence the title, "Glass Dances"). Do I feel as though I successfully mimicked the style of Philip Glass? Not really. But the title stuck like glue, so there you go.
