I have to say, as soon as money comes into the equation, it makes things a bit icky even if it's a fiver. There is an element of 'Hmm has he buttered me up to start making money off me and it's starting with this' I would always avoid involving money in friendships as much as possible. That being said, in any case you always owe someone you have any rapport with some basic respect and ghosting shows he had none of that for you. Instead of giving him a full hours time you should have given 5 minutes, generally give people bite sized good will and see if they ever reciprocate.

Money is the price tag of time. With money you can buy other people’s time. Every single person’s time is more valuable than a single person’s time. That is why you have civilization and currency in the first place. Your time is your time but money can be anyones time. With your time you can only control yourself, but with enough money you can control almost anyones time as well as your own. Which one sounds more valuable to you? The problem is that those people who are waiting in line for free food do not value their time because it has none. If the trade seems unfair that is only the reflection of the fact that no one finds value in your time. The more valuable your time is the better you can control it and the more you can keep. If you have to go work for someone else to get a pension most likely your time isn’t worth much.

I realised this at your age after reading Rich Dad Poor Dad and then I spent my prime years (22-34) doing everything to reach financial freedom asap and I avoided all distractions, now i'm free my time is my own, you know what i realised? those people I didn't want to be like who are still working jobs trading their time for money, most of them have built their own families, memories, they married their child hood sweethearts and they are socially accepted because they have a job. When people find out i'm retired i'm ostracised i get passive aggressive remarks, the only women i find now at 34 are divorced or gold diggers, its hard to create a connection with people at this age. So yes i have all the time in the world now but opportunities are not the same at it was when i was 22. just fair warning for you mate

yeah its unfortunate that many people dont know the value of time and money, the rich get richer and all of that, I also think sometimes that working a lot now to "get ahead" also has its drawbacks, at the end of the day, finding something that is important for you is important, people will always say you should want this or that but the only one you need to impress is you. I live a simple life i had a 40 hour a week job, i pay my rent i eat, i have a retirement account. I could also choose to save every dollar, go to night classes, get a side hustle, work 80hr weeks, give up on anything that gives me joy in this life in the pursuit of money etc, but i dont need to do that, i dont have children and i dont have any responsibilities or people waiting on me. Its a balance any way and some people will like your decisions and some people not, i used to be on the "success" path i was going to be a computer science guy and i wanted to make like 100k+ a year and all of that, but then i lost that dream. Then i wanted to make video games. I was very sad when i felt i could no longer do these dreams and spent many years just drifting through life. But i started to do better, i have started to focus on my health and on my myself and it has been nice, i dont make much money but i am much happier then i thought i ever would be, and ironically i got it by not chasing happiness or "joy". I still do things that make me happy but i am not chained by them. Life can be boring sometimes and thats ok. But it shouldnt be boring all the time. Its weird but i found that i find i am much happier in life when i just do things instead of stress and stress about what ifs or maybes. i do think that money can be useful especially if you make enough that you dont need to worry about it but living just for the pursuit of money feels hollow to me. But if some people just need to survive thats fine too, i know i needed that for awhile.

I totally understand your stance on losing control. The closest I've ever been to getting drunk was about five or six years ago. That day when I got off work, I decided to treat myself by eating out that night and found a pub at a mall that had a special deal of lobster pasta with vodka. The food was very hot and dry, and as a result I must of had at least four shots before I requested they give me water. I didn't even like the vodka, I was just drinking it in order to make the food go down easier and because it was hot. Well, after I left the pub, I still had my faculties but my motor skills were now sluggish and my head was spinning all over the place. I didn't feel confident enough to drive, so I decided to try and walk it off. I stumbled into a Target, browsed around the isles before an employee asked me to leave. I then laid down on a park bench for a bit until I threw up. That was such a degrading experience. Not only do I think I am a lightweight when it comes to handling alcohol, like you, I am confident I am someone with an addictive personality. I know this because whenever I have a bag of candy, large amounts of chocolate or soda such as Coca-Cola. I would have consumed it all in maybe half an hour because of my sweet-tooth (hence why my dental bills are so high). So I probably wouldn't be able to control myself when it comes to consuming alcohol or any other addictive substance out there. I already have terrible control over how I eat anything that contains sugar. I think if the day ever comes when I start abusing drugs and alcohol, it will be the worst thing that can happen to me.

@@mattchongunfiltered The vodka wasn't cooked. They gave me a little bottle and a shot glass. I bottle was tiny and didn't have a lot, probably 300 ml. The lobster was pretty good though. Mixed with cheesy macaroni, it was pretty good. I do love eating lobster. I would always buy a gourmet lobster pie at my local farmer's market every month. It has lobster bits mixed in with cheese. They are a bit pricy but delicious.

I'm very similar to you in that I never got drunk mainly due to not liking the taste of alcohol. I think part of it is because I have quite a bit of a sweet-tooth. And like yourself, I just don't enjoy the bitter taste of alcohol at all. Also, I suppose not having much of a social life at school meant that I didn't go to bars with friends or parties where booze was readily available. Heck, whenever I attend family gatherings, I'm the odd one out because while my brother, parents and other family members would down glasses and bottles like its going out of fashion. I just stick with soft drinks or juice. It probably because of this that I've had a lot of problems with my teeth (and spent thousands on dental work) but no other health issues whatsoever.

Do you want the ultimate delayed gratification? What about hope for life after death? and then gratification and satiation in our lord Jesus Christ in this life. This is coming from someone who grew up far from God and religion and tried to pursue happiness through hobby, people, lusts/desires, materialistic things. It ended in me trying to commit suicide and turning to drugs. Christ saved me from this affliction i was in. The truth is, we all have a hole in our heart, that is meant to be filled with God. Only God can do this. without him in our lives, we will always search and never be satisfied. We always will in some way be defeated by our selves. The will yearns to do right but our body and lusts overcome. Surrendering to Christ and being able to admit humbly Gods way is better, Gods way is the only way is the beginning of happiness, love and joy. Of course there is a element of faith involved, you seem atheistic. But you making this video at least to me shows you have been introspective and yearn to grow and understand. I ask if your crutch is faith in God, to be curious. Look for him with a humble and contrite heart and you will find him. Seek the truth, he will knock, let him enter and you will be born anew a creation in Christ. God bless.
