Polishing alone will not remove heavy oxidation old clearcoat such as 2k, Spider cracks or orange peel!! Dry sanding works better and 3inch sanding disk!! Or better still a 3M restoration kit!!!😊👍

Imagine trying to clear up the narrow slit-style headlights on some vehicles!
@ChristopherCologneASMR Жыл бұрын
Something good to go over it and protect it is a good true ceramic coating. Just make sure you get all the polish off. I've heard bad things about clear coat in the long run. Good video though.
@Daniel.Kovacs Жыл бұрын
Thanks I want to revisit this becuase my new car (2014 acura tl) has much harder plastic and this method doesn't work so good, I will need to sand it and then use headlight resto kit.

@@Daniel.Kovacs what I use after I wet sand is Maguires ultimate compound and then I go back over it with ultimate polish. Then I'll take some glass cleaner and go over that to get the polish off and ceramic coat it. If you want to try that way. I've never used the mothers mag polish though. I need to try it cuz your headlights came out pretty damn good.

I don't like sanding also. I did my headlights using Macguires Headlight repair kit. Then top it off with 2 coats of Macguires protective headlights coating. You only have to place the Protective coating like once a year. I also wanted to place 3M protective film (UV protection) and for an additional protective layer but i did not buy it yet. My headlight turned out a lot better than they were. It is very easy to do, your saving lots of money, No sanding needed but the Macguires buffer pad that i used was rough or a bit gritty and it is best to use a drill and the whole procedure will go faster. I was very impressed.
@lohikarhu7343 жыл бұрын
If you don't keep the pad 'wet' enough, and spin the drill a *bit* to fast, it can easily melt the polycarbonate, leaving a heavy 'orange peel' effecf, and then you will *have to* sand it...
