I have some old blocks which no longer have the white coating on the image. Shou.d I restore these before use, and if so, how?
Hello, the white paint is applied by the carvers so it allows us to see the design clearly. It is perfectly normal for the white paint to peel away and is nothing to be concerned about. There is no need to re apply the white paint, that is unless you wish to do so :)
Really useful. On the essdee fabric ink though it says to use non steam and something in-between?
Hello, it is always best to follow the instructions for various paints you use, we do not use or stock essdee paints but if that is what it says on the bottle then it is always best to take the advice shown on the packaging. With our own paints, we always recommend heat setting your fabric :)
@@theindianblockprintco thank you. It still has to be heat set but just says without steam and on reverse.
Can we stamp this on small size mud pots please advice
Hi...I have some ink stamps. Would they worrk on fabric with the fabric paint?
Thanks for sharing
Hi..really enjoy your videos. Amazing work. Youve inspired me! Just sent an order off to you. Could I just ask, when you iron the fabric,do you iron on the printed side? Also,I have ordered paints from you and wondered if they can be used on fabric and paper? Many thanks.
Thank you for your kind words, we will aim to get your order dispatched tomorrow so you can start printing your new goodies! We do have a video tutorial on heat setting, if you would like to watch it and learn everything you need to know please click this link kzread.info/dash/bejne/c62k2apwYcnKZJs.html Best Wishes

How do you headset baby items
Hello, you can heat set baby items the same way by using an iron (always look at the garment instructions) otherwise, you can tumble dry them but you do need to ensure the items get really hot!
should I always work on non sewing cushion cover or after sewing ?
Lovely. Please could you give us some tips on how you line up flowers, such as the tulips that have stems.
Can you iron it with a cricut iron? Or does it have to have steam?
Hello, we have never used a cricut iron before so we wouldn't want to say yes just in case, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. You just need to get direct heat on your prints to ensure they are fully heat set :)
Your details in explanation are valuable.
Thanks Tess, for sending me my Club box after that little hiccup with my subscription - it’s cheering to know that good old fashioned customer service still exists! I’ll practice on some muslin fabric and maybe end up with a square scarf as well as this long one, who knows? At any rate, I’ll have some pretty all-purpose cloths to use. Block printed fabrics around the house cheer things up so nicely 😊. Until March! Au revoir! 🌷
Beautiful. Great idea for gifts.
Do you use fabric paint or ink
Thank you. How do you clean the block?
Hello, we have a video on this... please click the link to view :) kzread.info/dash/bejne/lH17psh6c9CekdI.html
Which ink did you use?
Hello, we use textile fabric paint. It is our own brand and it is non toxic and water based, you have to heat set it to ensure the paint will stay on the fabric. You can find out more by clicking this link which will take you to our website :) www.theindianblockprintco.com/collections/fabric-paints
Wow very nice
Wow very interesting thank u for sharing mam 🎉

Excellent instructions.
Wait what type of paint did she use
Hello, it is our own water based fabric paint which can be purchased via our website www.theindianblockprintco.com Very best wishes
I have some little plastic glue spatulas which I use to scrap out the paint. I find it doesn’t spread so far as the sponge and doesn’t absorb any paint as the sponge does. Just as idea 😊
I wonder if she did both sides of the bag or just the front?
Hello, To do a curved letter, we use a cardboard cut out and use it as we would a stencil :)
A tutorial with a stencil and curved letter would be super helpful, thank you!
@@hananpatel1094 we will try to get a tutorial filmed over the coming weeks and upload it to the channel :)
Lovely, how would you do a curved letter please?
❤❤❤❤
What is the best paint to use for this? Will it was off at all?
The paint used in this tutorial is our very own Textile Paint. It is non toxic, biodegradable and mixes beautifully with other shades in the range. It does require heat setting via iron, or at best a tumble dryer. Due to it being a non toxic paint, you iron directly over the paint once is has dried (no need to cover the fabric or iron on the reverse... you want the fabric to get as hot as it can handle) ensuring each print gets really, really hot! The link for our paints is below; www.theindianblockprintco.com/collections/fabric-paints/products/3-fabric-paints-for-12?variant=40148486357080 Many thanks :)
Thanks. Very helpful
Instead of tipping mine out of the pot, I use a teaspoon to try to control the amount... and an old credit card to scoop up the remaining paint and put it back in the pot
Yes, sometimes using something like a tea spoon is best, we hate waste! :)
this is such a nice idea, might just need to try this!! Thank you Tess!
Very nice and informative
Really useful. Thank you. Love your products!!
Beautiful work!! Do you guys have cotton bed sheets w patterns ?? And whats the website if you have one ??
Ma'am Iron on front side or opposite side?
Front side, directly over the paint making sure each print gets really hot - as hot as your fabric can handle without burning it.
Where do you buy The blockprinting? I am in Brazil. And The paint can i find in Brasil or i can use The other company?
Hi, thank you for sharing this video, I have one question. What is the blue mat under the bag? is it fabric or foam?
Hi Lesley, underneath the bag is a foam printing mat. We always use a soft surface underneath any fabric or paper we print onto. This is because all of the blocks are hand carved and really solid, you need something soft to press the block down into and to give it a slight wiggle. This ensures you are getting the full print. Best Wishes
this is so ool!
Thank you Tess, your demonstration was fantastic...I'm really looking forward to using mine over the next couple of days.
Brilliant and very inspirational. What kind of padding do you have underneath the fabric so as to have enough squishability when you are printing?
I loved how it's turn out beautiful💕
its giving macy’s and ikea
Your all videos are very helpful. Thank you so much!!
Thank you ❤❤ From India
What type of paint are you using?
Hello, We use our textile paints for printing onto light colour fabric, they are non toxic and water based. They must be heat set with an iron before going in the wash. We have over 45 colours in our range, which can be seen here by clicking onto this link theartycraftyplace.co.uk/product-category/block-craft/fabric-and-paper-paints/fabric-paints-for-block-printing/
Thank you.
I love block printing and just happened to land on your block printing page. Though you show how to take care of the wooden block, I would like to know how to care for the foam blocks used for dabbing the paint on to the blocks. Can these be re-used and if so how do you clean them after a project to ensure that there is no remenant of old paint when you start a new project. Thanks.
Hello, thank for your message. The sponges used for applying paint onto the blocks can be used time and time again, they need to be soaked in warm water for a few minutes and then rinsed and squeezed repeatedly until the water runs clear from the sponge. We use our sponges time and time again, they will appear stained but as long as you clean them after each use and leave them to fully dry, you will find they can be used many, many times until they become hard/solid. Hopefully this helps, many thanks :)
