Block Printing Tip- Heat Setting Printed Fabric

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Do you know how to properly heat set your block printed fabric? Once printed with a fabric paint, you need to heat set the fabric to make it permanent and washable, without this you risk it fading! You can heat set by ironing the fabric, with direct hot heat. But, it's important you don't just iron the fabric, it needs to be heat set and during the video Tess will show you the difference and how to ensure your printed creation is properly fixed!

    That's really helpful - thanks. I haven't been using steam on mine, although I have had the iron pretty hot. Definitely need to spend more time on heat setting!

    Hello, it is always best to follow the instructions for various paints you use, we do not use or stock essdee paints but if that is what it says on the bottle then it is always best to take the advice shown on the packaging. With our own paints, we always recommend heat setting your fabric :)

    Can you iron it with a cricut iron? Or does it have to have steam?

  • @theindianblockprintco

    @theindianblockprintco

    5 ай бұрын

    Hello, we have never used a cricut iron before so we wouldn't want to say yes just in case, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. You just need to get direct heat on your prints to ensure they are fully heat set :)

    Is it possible to hear set better with a heatpress?

    Ideally you would use an iron, but a heat press would most likely work well too :)

    How do you headset baby items

  • @theindianblockprintco

    @theindianblockprintco

    Hello, you can heat set baby items the same way by using an iron (always look at the garment instructions) otherwise, you can tumble dry them but you do need to ensure the items get really hot!

    Ma'am Iron on front side or opposite side?

  • @theindianblockprintco

    Front side, directly over the paint making sure each print gets really hot - as hot as your fabric can handle without burning it.
