A great introduction to KSTARS/EKOS! I think though your "polar alignment" routine is actually a "star alignment" routine? EKOS does have the ability to do polar alignment for you too, and it's a pretty good routine too! Check it out... There are a few videos here on KZread to show you how it's done too!

I can't really recommend stacking software since I use all my stacking on windows, but I use SIRIL, or Deep sky stacker. OaCapture is a good one or if you want to pay, you can use Pixinsight on linux

I would suggest getting the alt/az adjuster for it as it makes PA easier. The cool thing about Kstar's/ekos is that it has a PA assistant so you can get PA even if Polaris is not in view. That little mount has always performed well for me. Nice video thanks for posting.

I was there during the premiere, and one of the things that I recommend if you don't want a longer focal length (like the Powerseeker 127's 1000mm focal length), buy an Orion Observer 134 for $249. This actually has a parabolic mirror, so there aren't any spherical abberations. It also comes with a better EQ mount than the PowerSeeker 127, with a CG2 (EQ-1) on the Powerseeker vs an EQ3-2/CG4 on the Observer. Overall, I just recommend the Observer more. Extra 30 bucks are worth it tbh
