Omg thank u so much for that explanation! I have nobody around me that’s into bikes and could show me but I love doing stuff on my own!! Thats real helpful
Thanks mate saved me 300 bucks
I have a r3 2018. Last year of the version 1. It's the standard 41 hp. Some say the Ninja 400 or ninja 500 is stronger and better, Depending where you live the Ninjas US version have about 51 hp i think, And the Eu version ninja have about 45 hp, I'm living in EU so the difference in power between r3 and the ninjas is then about 4 HP , But as i understand in the US the ninjas have about 51 hp, So the idifference in power is bigger and more notable, What's nice about the R3 is it seems to be the same power configuration all over the world so parts for the engine are the same everywhere, And the service intervalls for the valve adjustments is at 40000 km for the R3, and 25000 for most of the Kawasaki's.
hey ,I am a LAMS rider about to get this bike and I was wondering if it is Legal to put an akpo slip on muffler on it that Yamaha sells on their website? Also is it Legal to get a fender eliminator and indicators? I only ask as I know you work in law enforcement.
where do you dump the old oil?
Thank you!
Thanks mate this is bloody awesome! 🤣
Typical Aussie Dad!! I love it 😂😅
You doing alright man? Haven’t seen a post in a while
Are you bored of the power band or is it plenty power??
Perfect vid thanks. Just bought an R3 here in the states for the summer
how are you going with the R3 a year on? and how well does it sit on aussie highways? (at 100-110kmh) im thinking of going for my license soon and im looking at the R3 as a potential first bike :)
wa yu chewi da wey yo tohh, i gihh yu a tams down,
You’ve got my subscription, love you’re work.
Thanks for the video ! I want a 2024 Blue R3 , awful close to just doing it.
Hi, where did you get the gloves ?
They do make an acid cleaner for aluminium. I'm not a chemistry professional, but hydraulic acid does make aluminium open to atmosphere
Never use hydraulic acid on aluminium .
THank you for onew of the best informed review i have seen.i am getting a R3 and i live in Bowen QLD and i was thinking it maybe too slow but now i know it is not so i can go and have a look at one thank you,i am a older beginner rider at 53 so getting a R3 was what i wanted
Those are great looking gloves. Reasonably priced too. Once broken in they’re sublime.
Your sense of humor alone have me cracking up😂.. #BeAMan
Thanks mate exactly what i was after!
How’s that move looking.
Do you reckon one day you will get the land speed record on the R3 at lake Eyre?
i have never had an issue with comfort on the R3, though the stock seat isn't the best for riding longer than 1 hr. i have had to pull over to give my butt a rest. and i usually only ride that long during the summer, so it's not worth it to me to spend $300 on a seat upgrade
Swallowing our own pride sometimes help. This is more relevant on Indian roads where road rage is quite common. Rhanks a lot for sharing.
Can you give me advice on the exhaust,s most people change them to be here's in traffic and how legal they are And abuse on tail tidy upgrade
Would you recommend this bike to someone who is 6"2?
Really nice ride, really enjoyed watching along. Hope you and your beautiful bike are going well :)
some one know about it the torque on sump lug
tbh torque isn't necessary just tighting it is enough but manual says oil filter = 17 N.m (13 ft lbs) and drain bolt = 20 N.m (15 ft lbs)
If I have a riveted boat hull. Will this damage the gasket seals between the two pieces of aluminum?
I’m tall for my r3 but I still find it enjoyable after almost a year of purchasing my 17 r3
I was about to change the oil because the indicator window showed there was no oil but I didn't know it needed to be upright to show the right amount 😅😅
What did you scrub with?
I just inherited a WRX which lived 22 years in a doorless garage 300m from seawater. All the aluminium in the engine bay is oxidised almost white. I think I’ll try an acidic wheel cleaner, then move up to diluted acid like shown here. Thanks for the information.🤙🏼
Hi there, I have a 2023 R3 which I bought new and the oil light came on just after 1000 KM, any pointer of what could be the issue or recommendations.....Thank you
The R3 oil light comes on after a pre-determined amount of k’s not because the oil is low. It comes on to let you know you’re due for a change.
change the oil sooner during the first oil change. your oil will having little specks in it, basically metal shavings from breaking in the new engine. it clears up after that first oil change
Bought an R3 2019 after owning an Mt-125 and let me tell you the R3 rides like a dream! Its just so good. Keep in mind im 5'0 so i tipy toe but still i love it to bits <3
I sat on an R1 last month and it’s seat felt so much higher than the R3, so my advice if you’re vertically challenged is to stay on an R3 or maybe go to the R7 in time which to me feels exactly the same height as the 3.
same here sold my mt-15 and will get my r3 in the next couple hours
@@GoProHero9Sean-ih4bb EYYY congrats! Hope you have lots of fun and memories on that bike <3
🎄🎁🫶🏼
I bought a new R3 and the dealer didn’t give me the Manual book
You can download it, just google it.
what u need the manual for? my manual says the oil filter needs 17 N.m (13 ft lbs) and oil drain bolt needs 20 N.m (15 ft lbs) but i never torque them. i just tighten with an adjustable wrench
Sounds like you’re just talking about your personal experiences with bad riders lol I wanted tips on the motorcycle itself the Yamaha r3 like the gears and details of things to keep notice of
Very close to finally purchasing myself a 2023 R3. I have found it hard to find content like this regarding the bike. The added scenery makes the video even more lovely and I am enjoying every second of it. It's a beautiful place you live at- you're living my dream!
Thank you!! Did you end up getting a bike? Yes the countryside up here is incredible, feel free to join me any time.
I’ve got a 2018 R3, have put 35000km on it and still looks and runs like new. Plan to keep it for a while yet! Done a couple of long trips, only problem for me was sore knees but that was after a 1000km ride so probably to be expected. Thanks for the videos, it’s a great channel!
That’s a mammoth effort on any bike!! Keep it up, I’ve just ticked over 20,000k’s now.
Yamaha should update the front design and healights
I agree. Across the R range.
As much of a man that I am, this filter shit is tight af
😂 bro sometimes they are too tight, but it’s fun to stir people up from time to time.
Should i take in my bike for the 4,000 mil(5,000 km)service? Or should I do it myself?
Get into it and service it!! If you’re unsure then book it in but it really is as simple as I show in this vid.
Fantastic professional review one of the best I've seen on any product to date. Exceptional!
Fun fact: you passed my house
And if you wanna know it's the one with the Ulysses coffee stuff out the front
This is the video that convinced me that I can do it myself too! Ordered my oil change package last night and can't wait to do it. Thanks mate.
How did it go? No dramas i’m sure?
@@AussieMoto Was worried a bit that I might need a grip strengthening tool and a few weeks to unscrew the filter, but turned out OK. Everything worked fine in the end😃
Sensible and we’ve the same perspective, interesting review, thanks
My experience with the R3 has been very similar. I bought a used blue 2020 model with 900kms on it mid COVID to avoid public transport. Just about to tick over 20,000kms mostly commuting but many Sunday runs sprints over Mt Glorious/Nebo and a couple of advanced riding days. I replaced the tyres with Bridgestone S22 that was a noticeable improvement in handling. I have had the team at Northstar Yamaha doing the major services. They really know R3s. At the 10k service they adjusted everything and the improvements were noticeable, the bike was smoother and easier to control. I’d recommend it to anyone inheriting someone else’s modifications. I’m 5’10 the ergonomics are perfect, so much so I’m having trouble deciding what to upgrade to.
I just got to 20,000k’s last week and a new vid coming soon talking about that. Still a perfectly awesome bike and I love rising it every darn time.
