It just goes to show how much more important delivery is over the actual structure of a joke. A comedians persona is 80% of the reason why somebody would go to see them whereas only 20% of the enjoyment comes from the jokes themselves.

However to defend some specific ones: I think literally every single friend group has talked about how you shovel popcorn in your mouth in that same manner. And every Asian in their friend group (including me), has joked about how we don't have slanty eyes but we are just tired.

The other would be Ellen. She clearly knew she was telling a stolen joke directly to the person that had originally told it. The odds of that naturally happening are about 1,000,000,000 to 1.
